I love how when you are discussing hip flexion, your dog comes over and stretches his hips. :)

I like how your dog also does a hip extension when you're talking about it... Clearly likes to follow along, lol

I use a mobility warm-up for myself as well as every person I work with. For hips we do forward reverse pelvic tilts, lateral hip hikes, holahoop circles and hinging/back bending. Basically all the movement patterns unweighted. That way I can see how they move before adding weight.

Great prep! We do a similar pattern to see how people move their hips weightless! Thanks for sharing! - Gregory

Finally someone knows! 🥰 don't do too much of a backend when coming ask the way up. Squeeze glutes and don't over arch the lower back. Putting too much force on the lower back. It's a balance between 'squatting" and barely bending the knees. Your back should be less than a 45 degree angle. Like if on a clock 12 was standing straight and 3 was 90 degrees you want to be generally around 1-1:15 no more than 1:30. It looks like in this video the girl is at 1 o' clock out so. Oh and don't squat too low, like he says, that can blow out knees on heavier weights. The thighs should be around 45 degrees ish little less is good too.

Thanks again for your great advice.. I have been swinging the kettlebell for a long time now.. But still advice like yours still helps.. I even still have notes wrote down on my workout ipad.. I remind me all the don't forget to hinge don't forget to tighten your gluteus at the top.. And don't forget the silver back gorilla ha ha to have my chest pointed out.. I am constantly breaking down the swing in my head every time... But it works. Ps what is your dog called? Thanks again for your you tube video...

You're the first one I've heard mention the "Silver Back Gorilla", but that's a perfect description of how I feel when I know I've got the form right. :)

Lebe, I've been doing a clubbell program, in the warmups there's 2 movements that come to mind. Hip thrusts ( prone and kneeling), full hip extension and squeezing glutes. The knee movement is removed from the focus in both if you follow my meaning? This has reinforced the concept for me ( through repetition), so when I'd go to the kettlebells themselves ( after doing these kindof drills for a few months) I'm sure it created a conditioned response to hip extension and improved my form. Apart from training full hip extension with the kettlebell itself, what do you reckon about drilling this cue with warmup mobility work?

Great ideas! Hinging and hip bridges are good exercise to get a better connection to the hip. Other than that, putting in the reps helps as well. - Gregory

Where da fuck was this 3 weeks ago?! I blew my back out by messing up my form. All better now, but the hip hinge form is CRITICAL. Don’t be me y’all… 😅
