The Biggest Plot Holes (and Some Minor Ones) in BULLY!

So for today's video I go over 4 of Bully's major plot holes that either make no sense, go nowhere or contradict the plot. I also cover some other much smaller plot holes that don't have an impact as much.

The biggest one to me was Earnest and the Nerds turning on Jimmy at the start of chapter 4. Like, he bends over backwards to help and protect the nerds, but suddenly they hate him.

That can actually be explained away though, by Gary sowing seeds of mistrust. Even though the nerds (or at least, Algie) were aware that he was bad news, they still bought into his crap (just look at Earnest's dialogue in Complete Mayhem)

You forgot to mention that there are only 4 police officers in Bullworth, a town whose population is stated to be at 128,000 in the intro yet there are only 4 officers for some reason and no other officers are mentioned in the game which means if Jimmy took out the entire police force that means there would be no one around to uphold and enforce the law. Rockstar Logic I guess.

I always wondered why Jock respect is still at 45 after The Gym is Burning. You saved 3 people's lives, and there should be multiple witnesses to Gurney running out of the building. There's no reason they shouldn't consider you a hero after that. Especially since it means the jocks hate you for almost the entire game. It would be a nice break to have them like you throughout the 5th chapter.

The only reason I think that Jimmy wasn't knocked out after the fall but Gary was is because Gary got beaten senseless before the fall and was already weak and Jimmy did look winded after the fall and did seem hurt.

Chapter 4 is overall a rushed mess of jumbled missions that Rockstar somehow made into a feasible storyline. I've came to the conclusion that the beta version of Chapter 4 was more fleshed out and made more sense. Paparazzi is the first mission listed in the files, with Stronghold Assault second, Earnest's fight third and Defender of the Castle being fourth , so it would seem that Jimmy still listened to Pete's advice about getting the Nerds help with the Jocks, but from a more logical standpoint.. He goes to see Earnest, who wants pictures of Mandy for his own use, but would have gave Jimmy some excuse about why he needs them. Jimmy does this and the Jocks launch a revenge attack against the Nerds (as they do in the final game), who blame Jimmy and turn against him, forcing Jimmy to fight through both Jocks and Nerds to reach Earnest (the Nerds have unused voice lines for this mission about having to run away from overwhelming numbers and telling Jimmy to leave) Jimmy reaches the observatory and defeats Earnest, getting the Nerds back on his side before repelling a second attempt by the Jocks to breach the observatory. The storyline would then continue as it did in the final version.

I found it weird also, how Russell in Bustin' In Part 2 was being chased outside the building (sometimes the police car in front), yet ends up inside the next. Plus Zoe in Revenge on Burton says to get the boltcutters from the Spazz Industries, yet they're in the alleyway in Bullworth Town between the shops (the actual location is right near the Townies' Hideout). Edit: Second sentence is an error; there are multiple spazz buildings, plus you get the boltcutters from behind the building.

Photoshop, I used a drop shadow effect on Mandy, and an outer glow effect. For the font, I used "Dirty Headline", with a similar effect, but I embossed it to give it a slightly more 3D look. The background, is actually 2 layers of Bully's comic artwork, both the same colour, just one layer is "hard light" which gives is a more vibrant look imo.

You know, the nerds seeming to suddenly turn on Jimmy, can actually be explained away, by Gary sowing seeds of mistrust among them, telling them, or starting rumours, that Jimmy was taking over, and was gonna team with the Jocks against them. Earnest actually accused Jimmy of being out to get them when defeated in Stronghold Assault. Even though the nerds (or at least, Algie) were aware that he was bad news, they still bought into his crap (just look at Earnest's dialogue in Complete Mayhem), and a lot of Gary's supposed influence, lies, and rumour mongering were only mentioned, mostly by Pete, or in a roundabout way by other NPCs. So I'd say that one isn't actually a plothole. The school election one, however..... My guess is they thought the mission where u protect Earnest was too good a mission to pass up, and a good way to introduce the super slingshot. I actually didn't notice at first (cos, y'know, I don't usually pay enough attention to spot plotholes), but it does now seem completely out of place, even like an anomaly

This isn't really a plot "hole" but just something that doesn't seem to add up - poor Johnny only ever fucks w the kids that he thinks his girl are cheating on him with which we very quickly find out they ARE. But he's still treated like this awful bully when rly he's just a dude who loved his girlfriend and wanted to get to the bottom of it when he found out she was cheating. Always felt bad for him lol

I think for the one about Jimmy not making the football team, it's just an excuse Mr Burton tells himself so he can blame Jimmy as Jimmy does say right afterwards that he never even wanted to be on the team, so either he's saying he never tried out or maybe they select their players just from performance in gym and there are no tryouts or something. Also for Gary falling through the roof and being worse off than Jimmy, I think it's just because you practically knock him out right beforehand, dropping his health to nearly 0 so the fall finished him off but wasn't that bad that it would also finish off Jimmy who was relatively fine

@@MaxerV19 I think you're talking about his fight in the end of Chapter 1. It was probably by design. At that point in the game, you only have the Uppercut as a Special Fighting move. Russel is immune to grapple, so you can't perform the moves learn in wrestling. Also, it is the first Boss Battle. So Rockstar figured people might not be ready to face a relatively tough opponent. The fact is that he is actually a bit challenging if you don't use weapons or spam attack buttons to cancel his attack animations.

Didn't the Bullies and the Townies had a turf war before the events of Bully or they use to be one big group but the Townies splintered off? That's the only explanation on how Russell would know where the hideout is. Maybe Gary burnt down the gym and Gurner or the "creep" was just in girls restroom just because he's a creep but how did the creep end up on campus? Maybe he snuck in under cover of night? And the comic book that came with the preorder version is that canon?

this is really interesting information; i thought the bullies and the townies were both put together in the clique dubbed the "punks" or whatever the file name was called, i think zoe and russell have their characters named this way. The turf war or whatever would explain why rockstar could have had the two cliques split into two distinct groups. Nathan here's another one, and I wish you read this, start Halloween, and fail inside the dorm, either let Russell beat you up or blow yourself up or whatever, then when you respawn leave the dorm. I don't know on what editions this works but I play on mobile. You get duplicate characters no prefects always afternoon, Halloween characters, but yet free roam activity for the most vast majority of action. Btw if you fail by trash canning Gary then the game freezes

The biggest plot hole is definitely at the start of Chapter 5. When Jimmy tags the Town Hall, and suddenly he loses the respect of all factions at Bullworth Academy. So "BullWorthLess" is all it took for them to completely turn on Jimbo. Makes fk all sense to me.

I know i am late but originally peanut was supposed to have much bigger role other than just cameo, also in the beta he wasn't the lieutenant of the greaser. There was also supposed to be a mission involving him and was given to him. It is unknown as to why Rockstar give him roles as lieutenant and yet he rarely appear in any mission or even cutscene.

Extreme post processing has been applied on the video capture with sharpenind and bleeding of color like I'm watching through a glaucoma patient's eyes. How did Jimmy rescue Galloway, Johnny Vincent and Russell without fighting their way out or sneaking? How did the headmaster hear everything? How does the sun set so early around 7 in endless summer? They pulled the respect up and down, making any gains during missions irrelevant.

Earnest Jones: They was something on the notice board after the mission Saying that the trip to something scientific was cancelled for a football game. But even that is vague. I think it would have been nice if the other students at least made a reference or said something about the election. I don't know why he was the're in chapter 3 and why another nerd could not tell us about Lola. He didn't even mention the election here. Also, chapter 4 Jimmy does make a good point by saying he has been helping them. So the nerds behaviour is definitely odd. Maybe they was a cut mission where you had to help the Graces beat up the nerds and this coursed what we see in chapter 4. But why Earnest is peed at Jimmy and how he knew he defeated his friends is a mystery. The gym is burning: where do we start. First, WHY DIDN'T ANYONE CALL THE FIRE BRIGADE! Why didn't anyone think about using the fire extinguishers? I mean, that is what they are there for? But for argument's sake, let's say that Mr. Burton and the Jocks are cowards. Mandy tells Jimmy about the man and probably already told Mr. Borton. If she didn't before the fire she defently would after and to top it all off they would have seen Gurney running out shouting "I regret nothing!" would back up her claim. Also, you would think Mr. Burton and the jocks would have restrained him since he ran out of the same door. They are not many hiding places in the girls' changing room, and as we have seen, both doors are high traffic areas. Even if he did it in the dead of night, most jocks like to stay around the gym area anyway. So how did nobody see him. Yeah what football team, was this cut content as well?

How did the riots end it was all Russell he beat up the perfects he beat his chest like a gorilla making all the kids stop rioting. Then the police saw Russell and were like our job here is done boys this is out of my pay range. Also Russell being a friend of Jimmy probably told him where he lived so if Jimmy ever needed someone turned into a pancake he'll know where to find him.

Well. on the final cutscene, we see Gary on the loor almost death and Jimmy wihtout any hurts, why? simple, Jimmy is more strong than Gary, you can when Gary is fighting, he is a shit, and Jimmy beats very much on Gary, so this can explain, Jimmy is stronger than Gary

Gary is the seventh toughest character in the game in terms of health pool and punch damage.. behind Russell, Edgar, Johnny, Bif, Derby, and Damon. A bit underwhelming for a final boss indeed.
