The petcock is not your friend. Should you have to drain the radiator again, disconnect the lower hose to have a complete radiator drain. Check your thermostat to make sure there's no defects and replace as needed, along with hoses. I love how awesome scrapi sounds with the 302 instead of an LS!

Another great, enjoyable vid. Glad you're happy in the end! I always hate dropping the tank. IIRC, the fuel and oil pressure gauges come out together and are replaced as a single piece. Try cleaning all the contacts first. The cluster is very sensitive to resistance. Having fun!

The startup sounds a lot better, just have to work on the rpm now. I got an adapter from accufab and put a gm iac you would have to get a plug and repin it. You might want to check that the items are spinning the right direction.

Those gas gauges are pesky as Phuk! lol… I had the same issue, turned out to be a little card/chip that connects to the gauge in the cluster, I forget what it’s called? I changed that card and it worked perfect. We have a place here called Connecticut Mustangs, basically a mustang only junk yard, I pulled up there with gauge cluster hanging, tried different cards, 3rd card worked and been happy ever after! lol oh, PS pump, every mustang pump gets a bottle of Lucas stop leak…new or old, it stops the whine every time! Good video especially the X computer info! Thanks!

There is always something to work on with these things. As long as you are making things better when you do have to work on it that’s what matters. I’m getting ready to AOD to T5 swap and get rid of the 7.5 rearend for an 8.8 in my Capri in the next week or so. Hopefully all goes well with that! Keep up with the great videos and try to enjoy that Fox for a while!!

I think it will be much more fun to drive! I have a question for you, do you know if I need to make any adjustments to the tune on the Holley Sniper 2 going from the automatic trans to a manual?
@VeteranRevivals
@VeteranRevivals 2 күн бұрын
@kellybench4638 you may have to adjust the IAC ramp to hold the RPM up between shifts. Not sure there would be much else. You might want to save that file and run a new file to see if it figures out anything different.

Great job. Couple tips. Grease the end of those hoses before slipping them on that awesome design. And use a cheap transfer pump with the hand squeeze pump. Makes the job quicker and more enjoyable. Especially changing intakes and heads. You can snake the tubes down the water jacks and pull the heads without spilling a drop.

Bypass hose fitting: put dowel in fitting then bend fitting so hose fits. It was less than a 1/16” bend to allow hose to slide on. Those fittings are friction fit.

Just dropped my brand new 347 in my fox. Still have to put trans and all the accessories on. I can't wait to fire it up. On holley terminator also. The only issue I'm seeing is the valve covers are tall and I'm worried about the iac hitting them. Probably gonna get an upper spacer but I wanna stay with stock hood. Gotta few things to finger out.
@VeteranRevivals
@VeteranRevivals 11 күн бұрын

@The50Baker

I had an 83 5.0 that had a sticker for V-6 belt diagram under the hood. Problem was I had the V-8. That car was a one off. It was a GL with GT running gear. Also had a 4 speed instead of a 5 speed transmission. I made my own version of a belt diagram. I put 1 under the hood and 1 in the glove box.

Sounds like the original buyer or dealer made themself a "LX 5.0" before that was an actual offered model, although the GL was a more optioned model as compared to the LX. I had an 84 GT T-top car back in 87' that was a bit of an odd ball, having many 85 GT items, I've to see another like mine, though I'm sure there are some.
