Yes!
@kinder_r20756 жыл бұрын
btw Linus talked a little about these conceps back at one of the Tech Expos' that he was attending... Not sure if it was CEX or another one. If I'm not mistaking the concept of it all is that inside the loop there is a special liquid engineered to be very temp. dependnt. When it comes into contact with the heat absorber on the cpu (for example) its temperature rapidly increases and causes it to evaporate (kinda like alcohol at roomtemp). The vapor is the carier of the heat and it condenses on the radiator. Then falls back through the second tube so there is an intake and outlet. The trick was to get a liquid that evaporates and then condenses in a narrow temp difference so as to no overheat the processor. On that expo video they stopped at what they called - The first ACTULLY working model of a pumpless water cooler... I belive fluid cooler is more acurate of a name.
@xenonram6 жыл бұрын
@@kinder_r2075 So a heat pipe.
@kinder_r20756 жыл бұрын
@@xenonram Now that you say it like that hahaha, I guess so :D I haven't researched all the way through but going with the couple of things they said on that video. I can't remember if Linus didnt called it kinda like a gimick because it's basically a large capacity heatpipe system. I can see a couple of benefits though. Heatpipes are good at what they do but they are premade to fit a certain shape and are not so easy to make ourselves, even with pipe bending tools. Pumpless watercoolers might be just flexable heatpipes. You get the benefits of heatpipes plus the flexibility of soft tubing plus the size of the tubes. Not sure btw I might be just saying bulshit..

"THE PUMPLESS AIO" can work but its need to be instaleed on invert (up side down) case and the radiator need to have top and buttom connections. The processor(heat source) must be at the height of the bottom half of the radiator, pipes from radiator need to be connected in " decrease way" of at least 5%. So the radiator need to be mounted vertical. Buttom pipe "cold" needs to go up to the processor and pipe "hot" from cpu needs to go up to the radiator top. Radiator need to be as big as u can at least 360mm. All the fittings need to have big diameter (no flow interrupt) and the gravity will do the work. Also good fan`s will help with increese of flow speed when they cool down the radiator more, the diffrence between hot and cold will be greater. one bad thing is that the cpu( heat source) needs to work on high deltaT parameter like 85 hot 45 cold to work convection like. sorry for my bad english. best regards from Poland.

Would be perfect for my cheap mechanical keyboard as the ESC key keeps escaping if I knock it, so effectively it would be Linus dropping on the floor. Seems quite apt somehow.

• 10:34 - Wait, what kind of pumps are those? 😁 • Jokes aside, I find it quite impressive that what looks like a 14-year-old owns and operates a company with enough staff and a building large enough that expensive stuff can disappear for months or years at a time and barely be noticed. 👍 • You know you're too into tech when your computer takes a leak on the floor.
