Been waiting for an update with most of the things they've added. Hoping they get an update where you can use the software to change settings in live mode on the pedal instead of having to use interface mode, then dragging them into the pedal and having to switch back to live mode then still needing to tweak the settings manually. They usually sound a little different. Thanks for the video 🤘🤘

Good video, thanks. I’m already quite heavily into the IK ecosystem but have just picked up a Tonex pedal with the latest round of offers. It’s good to see that they are pushing at longevity. I’ll certainly check out your other vids and the amp sounds you’ve uploaded for sure

Is there any benefit to getting the pedal if you already have Tonex Max software? Can it be used as a practice amp with headphones? Or does it only work in relationship to the computer.

The TONEX Pedal lets you carry your Presets and Tone Models away form your computer. So you can use it as part of your pedalboard or however you wish to configure it for jams or live gigs.

Would love to see them add the ability to add Delay as well as reverb, then it would be something you could use stand alone for a quick on the go solution

As it is designed now you can send your tone models to Amplitube. Wether they come out with an all in one is still a mystery but if you look at all of their capabilities I would bet on a modeler/multi-effects device at some point. Just a guess but they have all of the know how to make an amazing device...We'll see!!!

THIS! I only use delay and reverb. The fact that I have to add any additional VST just for delay is a bummer. I'd love to simply open the stand alone Tonex and jam...with delay.

This is a software update only. No new firmware updates needed as long as you are already current. Yes, you can import ToneX tones into Amplitube...

It blows me away how long it took for them to add such basic stuff like drag n drop and the creation of folders for organizing. I hope the folders are hierarchical; if not, it doesn't really help (usually a Jr. developer move to add just one level of organization). Sometimes there are tones I don't want around, crowding up my space. But I don't want to outright delete them. Since each tone model is stored in a SQLite database; it would be nice to be able to export unwanted tones to a separate database, removing yet preserving them in case I wanted to access them later. How about drag n drop to the desktop to save each model as a file; this would make it much easier to manage (similar to presets in the Helix). I guess I expect too much. Thanks for the video.

It's easy to find flaws in anything but considering this platform is so young I think it's way ahead of schedule. Cleary your demands are higher than most but one thing I think is pretty clear, updates are constant and the future looks bright for TONEX. Yes, a simple thing like folders is way overdue but TONEX launched with an extensive library of great tones which is far beyond what Fender managed to do with their modeler. So I think they got to the meat first and then the conveniences will continue to improve based on user feedback and their roadmap.

Tonex needed this update SOOOO Bad. The Software (and Workflow) has been the Achilles Heel of the Unit. Ironic coming from a mostly software based company, Glad to see them Adding some support in the development after selling so many units.

Thanks! Actually they are double tracked. I banged out this video in one day and wasn’t planning to focus too much on tones but the video seemed empty without any so I added them last minute. Normally I’m more detailed about the setups. Thanks for watching!

@@LonelyRocker It wasn't an attack or anything. I actually really liked how it sounds and i'm always looking around for methods to get it to sound naturally without actually double tracking. For a quick demo for example. In the end simply playing 2 tracks will give the best results of course. I really like guitar demos in stereo but I can see how other don't as it can be confusing when the demo is specifically about the tone.

All good my friend. I didn’t take it as an attack. You are 100% right. I was saying I’m normally more detailed in my demos but my focus in this video was the new organizational features. I literally decided last minute to add some tones. If you end up watching any of my other demos you’ll see what I do. But I LOVE double tracking. And sometimes quad tracking 😂😂😂🎸🎸🎸🎸

My pleasure. I believe the stomp is just baked into the amp model and not adjustable separately. I could be wrong but I’ve never seen that ability. Considering it’s a tone snapshot it makes sense that it’s just baked into the tone. If you want to stack them you can add Tonex pedals and amps separately in Amplitube. Hope that helps!

Great to create custom folders with drag n drop. Now if they could update so we can add drive pedals to ToneX !! Seems rather odd we can capture pedals but not be able to import into ToneX only use in the software, seems strange. Good info video, thanks

Thanks! Not sure what you mean with he pedals but you can but you can put pedal captures alone on the TONEX pedal. You can also import everything into Amplitube and stack tones there. The current TONEX is a tone machine and not something that is designed to build signal chains. Though I believe we will see that functionality sometime down the road...I'd almost bet on it....

@@LonelyRocker Just got mine so still learning. Being able to add an OD capture to the pedal when building a preset instead of relying on captures that have that baked into the capture. Seems that would not be a big deal to update?

Again. That is a signal chain process and not the focus of the pedal. Don’t think of it as an amp modeler/multi-effects pedal. It’s just tones. But I think we will see something in that direction eventually.

How about a video on deleting unwanted tone models? I 'd like to go through all the tones once and delete the ones I don't want. As in, I never want to hear that tone again.

You can delete "presets" but the factory "Tone Models" (trash can/delete) is greyed out. @@LonelyRocker

On my end you can't delete factory TONE MODELS, I can delete PRESETS. The Trash can is greyed out for IK tone models, downloaded or created tone models can be deleted. I posted this twice, because my reply was not showing up ? Common youtube issue lately.@@LonelyRocker

Biggest update ?? In my work I call such "update" - minor UX improvements. They LITERALLY did nothing but rearranging the same controls across the same window. The only REAL update we need at this point - ability to control pedal parameters directly from software over usb while connected. To adjust our presets and settings in its natural environment (on pedal board etc). Ancient BOSS apps do this. Any NDSP plugins will allow you to manage your midi settings etc etc... Even tone print cheap pedals allow to beam settings immediately. But for some reason IK are unable to provide nothing more than "folders" to organise hundreds of presets. And it's not even _nested_ folders or tags... It's a shame in terms of development/support inefficiency. And if it's a "biggest" update yet - it's a very bad sign actually...

First of all that title had 3 question marks so it is clearly asking a question. I’ve continually said TONEX is currently all about tone. It’s not currently designed to compete with all in one plugins and modelers. BUT…they have all of the capabilities stretched across Tonex and Amplitube. Give IK some time. Sky is the limit for TONEX….these updates are incremental BUT I’m certain this platform will inch closer to the majors. Time will tell.

99% of user uploaded tone models are complete rubbish and make navigating the site labourious and time consuming. IK needs to impliment some quality control

It can get chaotic. But it is free. The premium stuff is great quality.
