@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial I got mine in December and had a decent limit but not as high as I wanted, so I funded a new Wells Fargo checking account that I had recently opened, and then called into Wells Fargo and asked for a CL increase shortly after. They asked me how much I wanted, and I told them the amount I have on some of my other personal cards…they approved it. So maybe try giving them a call if you want a higher limit.

BILT pairs with Chase ecosystem very well! But its really a "universal" card that can fit with any bank/brand ecosystem. Congrats on your approval (12 in a row in a row is insane!)

Congrats Spencer. I've had the card for a little over a year and it's easily my best card, with annual fee or not. You can swipe and earn points guilt free knowing you're not overspending to hit a welcome bonus or justify yourself to use up statement credits. If you look at their rent day tranfer bonuses, they're pretty insane. For example, on 2/1, the baseline transfer bonus to Aeroplan was 75%, meaning if you stack rent day spending, that' 11.5x on dining, 7x on airfare/hotels, and 3.5x on everything other than rent. If you combine 1-2 years worth of rent points with the transfer bonuses, I feel the lack of a welcome bonus is a non-issue.

I was recently approved for the BOA customized cash card. I opened a checking account to help boost my odds. I owe Stan a lot for his help on how to get approved.

This was a big mistake of mine not getting this card a few years back, particularly as a Hyatt member. The 1:1 transfer is a great value and Hyatt rooms go for as little as 3.5K points / night, or 5K points. 2-3 months of rent would quality for a free night. I've done a lot of good with my credit card setup, but not getting the Bilt card was a mistake. Good job and congrats as usual Sir.

As well as dealing with impossible to reach customer service, and also having fraudulent charges bc of this card. So it's not as seamless as it they want to appear to be

Heh, my credit score was similar to yours and they gave me a $2500 limit. No big deal if you mainly use the ACH, but the lowest limit I’ve had in a long time. After a year they increased it by 50% when I asked.

Bonus tip on Bilt..using that same ACH routing and account number you can pay for utilities associated with the rent like electric bill and gas bill and still get points and the direct from checking/saving account thereby not impacting your available card limit

Bilt is a great card for renters! I’d love to get into the bilt ecosystem but as a homeowner it doesn’t make sense for me, especially since I’m focusing on welcome offers for future travel. But once they add mortgages I’ll be hopping on the train!

I sacrificed a 5/24 slot when I got the Bilt card; I was exactly 4/24 when I got approved. It’s a no brainer if you rent and want access to Hyatt and American Airlines partners with no annual fee. It pulled my Experian & I am located 🗽

Thank you Dalton! As for your question, that's exactly how it works. You have to use the Bilt "bank account" through your portal to wipe the transaction fees but since it's associated with your Bilt card, that's how you get the 1x back.

Ohh I see what you're saying. But no, Bilt technically won't code that as a rent payment and you wouldn't get the 1x on it. Their terms outline more specifically what codes as rent, so it may be worth checking it out. @@DaIton-

Grats bro! Question! If my Maintance company usually subtracts around the 5-7th of each month applying today or tomororow might not be enough time to change my billing options and or get rent paid during the hopefully bonus first 5 days after getting your card. Soo if I was to wait till March and plan accordingly when should I apply for the card with the hopes of landing my rent payments during the 5 day bonus and then setup all rent payments and a big payment first week in March?! Thx for any feedback …. I’ll also ask my apartment complex if they accept the bilt payment method and how long it takes to change methods!

Thanks so much! Unfortunately the 5x "welcome offer" period does not apply to rent payments but I guess that helps you to apply for it whenever you want! The cool thing about Bilt too is that your apartment complex doesn't need to be a part of their system. Like I mentioned, Bilt gives you a bank account and routing number to use for your payments, so it just shows up to your apartment as a bank payment hence why the fees are wiped. So you'd just have to update your payment method and you'd be set!

Running heavy spend through it for 6-8 months will end with a nice cl increase. Each lender has their approval range similar to US Bank, show them you need it they will provide it!
