Puckett, this video made me teary! Yes, I'm a girl. I've loved the idea of cbg's and previously watched your videos but today was different. I felt a stirring in my spirit. I think the Lord has a future that involves the glorious sound and frame of those sweet guitars. Maybe a jigsaw piece of the puzzle of His plan for me. Thank you for sharing this.

Excellent video as always. You are the best as far as I am concerned about helping others perfect the technique of building CBG instruments. The first thing I learned a few years ago from you was how to build that little bridge with the fret wire installed in the top of a piece of wood. I still think those things are one of the best bridges a person can use on one of these instruments and keep them looking like some to the originals. What is the best size piezo that you recommend for a build like this?
@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar2 жыл бұрын
larger is better - larger is "MORE" if that makes any sense :-)

Have you considered making a cigarbox BASS guitar?
@RetroPlus4 жыл бұрын
That would be cool, but it would have to be made very strong because I believe bass guitar strings exert a lot of tension on the neck.

`maybe you could figure out a way to make a one string bass like the bluegrass type of washtub bass, but in the style of the cigar box or maybe a paint can.

That is wonderful, I never knew cigar boxes could make such good sound, I live in spain and we have some serious cigars over here so Im off to the cigar shop and ask for some boxes and have a go making one, I cant play, I can cut wood perfectly as I am a carpenter but my daughter plays a spanish guitar and electric so will be able to tune it and play it for me. I just love the sound it makes. Thanks for the video. Serious music.

Why don't you mark your frets with a blue felt marker and blocks send your Frets so they're level? There's no possible way that your fretz can be level! Don't you get fret buzz? With the high frets

By the looks of it, You need a large hotgun, those small craft store/dollar store one, well the glue doesn't stay hot long enough to be able to do much with them, I've used the large ones years ago and the glue gets a lot hotter to melt the larger bore diameter.
