3:41 Dr Nicholas Eberstadt "If you want to get real historical, the entire history of our species is a history of populations being replaced by other populations, either by other groups displacing and territory, or within societies of the people who have children replacing those who do not have." He said this and Handmades Tale was the first thing that came to mind... But maybe it would be for men not woman since sperm rates are dropping +1% a year... Crazy times we live in.

2019?. If only there was some kind of easily transmittable something that would disproportionately target the old and highly dependent, physically and financially on the young to lower their relative numbers and shorterm tackle dependency ratios and generational wealth inequatiesthat may have screwed economies . Lets hope no-one tries to engineer something like that and accidently let it escape a lab.

There is nothing "pessimistic" about wanting to see human numbers decline from their current environmentally unsustainable level. Fewer, better educated, healthier humans living on the planet is surely the foundation of the long-term viability of the species in addition to solving every major problem currently plaguing us.

Do you plan on depending on social services when you age…? It won’t be there for you when there is no next generation to help you out. If you don’t need social security.. and have wealth… who’s to say you’ll actually find help when there is no one there…

@@x-mess No I don't. But even if I were planning so to do, my bet is there will still be more than enough people around to operate the system comfortably.

How do you think falling birthrates in in Europe would contribute to future politics? Do you think europe will be essentially forced to take in massive amounts of migrants from muslim countries and african countires to offset? Or would they go a full handmaidens tale route? If the former, how would you predict reactions to massive amounts of foreigners coming to many nation states in Europe? I wish this social topic was covered more which I feel like doesent get much attention from intellectuals. We saw many countries in europe such as Germany and Sweden that took many migrants from syria back in 2015 but since then the populist right has gained ground in both of these countries where even the talk of new refugees in Sweden is not common with the Swedish democrats winning elections. I would love to see more perspectives from centrists or liberals on how they plan on solving the issue of falling birthrates and population collapse without having to import foreigners who will have a very hard time integrating and assimylating into european values while also giving more ground to the right wing and appeal to xenophobia. Both of these are at odds with eachother.

What good would importing more dependents do? Sub 90 iq people from Africa and the Middle East are unable to contribute to the maintenance of European civilization. 😂

How does importing a bunch of men improve European birth rates? Did you take health class?

Basically almost the entire European population will be replaced with immigrants.
