One of the most interesting points of Banjo and Conker is how each game influenced each other: Conker was the first to create the Mario 64 esque 3D platformer which inspired the Dream team to make Banjo Kazooie and surprisingly they were able to get BK done before Conker despite having to start from the ground up, to the point where the Conker team had to redo Conker into becoming Bad Fur Day out of fear of being to similar too Banjo Kazooie.

In the video the narrator talks of the transition between the Donkey Kong Country games and Banjo-Kazooie, and you can see throughout the trilogy Rare developing their own style and characters more and more. Of particular note in my view, are the Brothers Bears of Donkey Kong Country 3. Not only is Banjo designed in a somewhat similar fashion to these bears, but those characters provided the small RPG elements of DKC3, the genre that according to the video, Banjo-Kazooie was originally going to be.

It is said that in the years after Rare was bought out, they were unable to recreate the magic of their titles from the 90's. But what about Playtonic? Were they able to reignite the magic? One thing is certain, there was defiantly a spark when Sakurai and Kirkhope brought Banjo to Smash.

BK64 was one of my first three games I got around Christmas '97. The others being Diddy Kong Racing, and the SM64 which came prebundled on release. Banjo just moved differently than Mario. He had more "moves," and more "forms" to consider that required multiple controller inputs. You felt "smart" playing Banjo, and you felt slick to play Mario.

I didn't love the remasters because the cutscene music and sound effects were originally lined up with the n64s lag in mind, and the remasters were done a bit lazily in that when the lag was eliminated nothing was done to fix the audio desync. I found that the remasters kind of killed a lot of the atmosphere and comedic timing because of that. So to call them the best way to experience the game? I'm not so sure.

What always got me with "Stop and Swap" is... the N64 Has a memory card... just make a shared memory card file for all of the stop and swap items... it doesn't seem like ti would be that hard..

If I could remake banjo kazooie, I would add in the 2 most well known scrapped stages, Fungus forest and Mount Fire Eyes. I’d also make adjustments to the combat and some indoor camera angles. There isn’t much to do to make banjo kazooie better, but banjo tooie, there’s a lot more work to do

It was amazing to see the evolution of one of Rare's greatest games. I was particularly surprised by the pirate turn project dream took, it defiantly reminds me of one of Rare's more recent games, Sea Of Thieves, and now I wonder if it took any inspiration from this past endeavor.

Yeah it is actually very difficult. Rare Replay works in his majority with 360 ports. That is why it never got on PC even when Xbox moved all of their Xbox One titles there.

Also, i think Rare and Microsoft made a mistake, not including the original Banjo Kazooie, and Banjo Tooie, on the Nuts and Bolts Disc, with a patch, that just makes the N&B Spiral Mountain, into a hub-lobby for all 3 games, literally having Banjo-Kazooie's House, be the Hub for the multiplayer of Tooie and N&B. And FTLOG License the N64 likeness and logo, and the DK character, and don't make it generic like they did... i am sure that nintendo would have traded B&K (and should have done Conker too) in Smash, for the just republish the entire game aesthetically unchanged, in homage to its origins, with only the minor improvements needed to the gameplay, camera, frame rate, and draw distance

I feel like the community is fairly split when it comes to Kazooie/Tooie preference (seems like the younger audience introduced to the serie may lean a bit more towards Tooie). HOWEVER, I feel like Tooie is the better game, it only lacked a few modern niceties that would have made it so much better : Easier fast travel/level quitting "Quest" journal to keep track of activities and kitties you have found or started but not completed Maybe even a way to help you find those again when coming back to em later (though that might be much for an exploration game) Better transformations with more unique activities for those (similar to DKC2 pets levels and bonus levels With all of this Tooie would be an undethronable king for most BK fans I think. It still wouldn't have that "let's just start a playthrough, won't take long" appeal of Kazooie, but it's okay IMO.

I definitely know about it but I’m going to say that should Microsoft want to revive the franchise. I think it’d be cool if they mixed the gameplay of the first two games with the car building of Nuts and Bolts. Like imagine needing to construct a vehicle that’ll help you get to a stage such as making a speed-boat to ensure you’ll get to an island stage. I could also see some stages having missions that you’d need to use a vehicle for along with on foot misisons. Such as a mission where you rescue someone but by doing so, you unwittingly made the stage into a good race track to which you race on in a later mission.
