I disagree. Do you want your intruder to survive and make a go at getting to you? Or do you want them to drop and never move again? Also, a surviving intruder can make up lies against you and get you in trouble for shooting them because it's your word against theirs unless you have a surveillance system in every room in your home, which would be sort of creepy. I've heard many stories on true crime shows (could still probably be made up bs, but still...) of home intruders suing the home owner for shooting them. For all of those reasons, it's better to shoot to kill in my honest opinion.

Lead used to be a problem when pipes were made of lead, because if they weren't replaced frequently enough, the coating in the pipe would break down and leach into the water. It's a cheap metal, so it used to be used in everything, from the seal in a Mason jar to batteries, to preservates for clothing, to protectives for engines. In reality, you either need a lot of lead that's ingested or inhaled or you need a little lead for a long time for any danger to occur, because your body can't break it down, and it can build up in your body, causing problems with the brain, reproductive systems, and possibly cancer. However it is still a lot of it your body needs for it to be an issue.

Actually, lead plumbing can be super long lasting and it will shed negligible amounts of lead depending on the pH of the water inside.

Crew Chiefs get a bit upset when stuff starts flying around their birds ! Light weight stuff stays in the cab with you.

I spent a decade on M1-series tanks in the Army where we fired lots of Sabot rounds both in training and in anger. Yes, the correct pronunciation of the word is "sah-bo". But since the Army tends to get a lot of southerners in Armor branch, their accent is what a lot of folks when they heard the word "say-bo". In the Army when discussing the Armor-Piercing, Fin-Stabilized, Discarding Sabot (APFSDS) the southern pronunciation is more common. It's a dialect thing. "LOAD SAY-BO!" was usually what the TC (Tank Commander) would hollar over the tank intercom when instructing the loader what round to load in the main gun before an engagement. The loader would load the round and call back "SAY-BO LOADED!" and that would be followed by "SAY-BO INDEXED!" from the gunner to let the TC know that yes, he's flicked the ammo selector on the M1's fire control system to the correct round that is currently loaded. The main gun was now loaded and ready to fire upon command from the TC. Both the driver and TC would keep mental track of these commands and if any command was not called out, they'd be yelling at the loader or gunner to verify they heard it and are doing their jobs. We'd drill over and over and over and over in the tank while parked in the motorpool on firing procedures until they just all became automatic motions. It's a huge part of what makes the American Main Battle Tank so damn devastating on the modern battlefield - well-trained crews. Thanks for reading my blog.

In Russia, I saw such bullets from hunters back in the 70s of the last century. But they were different, the tape was not rectangular, but with one oblique angle, then, when rolling into a roller, the bullet turns out to be a ballistic cone. The bullet was made from a thicker strip and without an inner cavity.
