This is a pretty cool choice. The Black Crowes were huge in the moment, but they don't seem to be referred to as much as some bands of this era. They have some amazing songs. I hope you'll check out more.

Great song, and this is actually my go-to karaoke track. They cut out a significant portion for the music video, which is a little much, imo. "She paints her eyes as black as night now..." Is actually the second half of the first verse, and is repeated after the second chorus. They cut out the first chorus entirely. It definitely takes away from the build-up of the song, regrettably. The jist is here, though! Great, thought-provoking reaction as always!

It's been a long time since I've heard this song. It hit me differently this time. I too talked to angels at one point in my life.. I didn't wear a cross around my neck but I wore one on my finger. I'm happy to say I haven't met him yet.

🎼🎐 .. great song. I don't often name drop here online , but I will tell you this story Saeed. I was bartending in New York City a few years back , around 2006. My boss was friends with Chris .. ( the lead singer of The Black Crows ) So , Chris would stop into the bar now and then and each time he and my boss would smoke a joint in the kitchen. Not my thing , never been my thing. Chris was cool and had a legendary beard. In case you don't know .. he was previously married to Kate Hudson , the famed daughter of Goldie Hawn. A few years later at the same bar I turned to face a new patron who was ordering a drink , and it was Kate Hudson. She also became a regular customer for a while. I am quite certain you have seen her role in one of my favorite movies "Almost Famous". Addiction is addressed in that movie also. ... And yes ....... she was stunningly beautiful in person.

The Black Crowes formed in my hometown in the early 80's, I've followed them since. Another song dealing with addiction is "Sometimes Salvation". The video paints a dark scene but it's Chris Robinson's mournful wail at the end that always gets to me. I hear it as a wake-up call. If by chance you check out the video, take notice of the coat that Chris is wearing, it's made to represent a "black crow".

Such a great song. Very powerful. They have a lot of good songs that are worth delving into 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 The Black Crowes performed at the same concert that had ACDC, Pantera and Metallica in Moscow 1991. Check out Enter Sandman by Metallica from the concert to see what 1.6 million people in the crowd looks like 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

Love this song, they have so many great songs! I always took the line ‘the cross is from someone she has not met, not yet’ as sort of referring to an addicted person facing a ‘come to Jesus’ moment where they have to choose, and some ‘find’ Jesus or God or religion then as a power source to help them defeat their addiction.

Oh man, that's a DEEP rabbit hole. August and Everything After is one of the few albums I can listen to all the way through without skipping a track. Adam Duritz is probably my favorite lyricist ever. The visuals he creates in his songs are just incredible. Especially on August..."Round Here", "Omaha", and "Rain King" are so amazing descriptive. I could write a whole thesis on that album. 😅

Mr. Jones was definitely their most famous track in the 90s, and is still a vibe today. The vocals can be a tad on the whiny side, but it's not too difficult to get past. 😊

I saw them twice. The first time when they opened for ZZ Topp, just a couple show before they got booted for Chris railing ask the tour sponsor Bud Light. The second time was at the tribute to alan Woody of the Allman Brothers when they were in contract disputes and lawsuits, so they didn't do Crowes material and they just rolled some amps on stage, used someones drum set and kind of raw dogged it and they rock it.
