Nice reaction ❤! This was the group's first song to feature singer Fergie as an official member in 2003. The music video was shot in East Los Angeles. apl.de.ap was the guy who you said was rapping like forreal. This song was initially intended as a vessel to post-9/11 anxiety, the song discusses many issues including terrorism, US government hypocrisy, racism, gang crime, pollution, war and intolerance, with the call for love in the chorus as the element tying these together. Also, the lyric "Overseas, yeah, we try'na stop terrorism/ but we still got terrorists here living/ in the USA, the big CIA/ the Bloods and the Crips and the KKK", suggests these organizations being terrorists too- however, in the later live performance of One Love Manchester the inclusion of the CIA was censored. The BEP (will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo & singer Kim Hill) started out as a straight up hip hop group in 1996 before adding Fergie to the group and gaining a more Pop culture following in 2003. Both will.i.am & apl.de.ap were signed to Ruthless Records in 1992 but never released an album due to Eazy E's death. The BEP's have won 7 Grammy Awards as a group. Black Eyed Peas have sold an estimated 80 million records, making them one of the best-selling groups of all time. They were ranked 12th on Billboard's 2000s Decade-End Artist of the Decade Chart, and 7th on the Hot 100 Artists of the Decade. Today the group performs as will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo & J Rey Soul. hi great reaction video this was a great one and i remember this song back in 2003 it was a dope song and still is till this day and also some parts of the video was filmed in this housing project and boyle heights of los angeles called the estrada courts thanks for sharing this i really enjoyed it peace❤
