After reading FATE/UBW, and watching the UBW anime, the shadow's existence is a genius shake up. It immediately shocked and scared me as a 'this should not exist here' entity that perfectly informs the reader that everything will change with Heaven's Feel

Yeah, it's another layer of genius that F/SN has. First route is the more idealistic and fantasy-like in tone, then in UBW we start to get glimpses of how fucked the world is, and finally in HF Nasu takes of his globes and starts fucking with every single character one way or another. Just brilliant

The only servant that even showed resistance to the shadow was berserker but that also entailed berserker using his superior strength to tear off his skin and god hand to avoid being devoured while also fighting the 3v1 against the shadow assassin and salter truly a terrifying thing

@@dominiquemendy6307 if she had a bigger mana supply she could theoretically used Excalibur’s power as a holy sword, to remove the corruption but assassin had to interfere. But downside in one of the bad endings she killed assassin and still got corrupted.

@@AverageAwesomeDude ya know I wouldn’t actually agree with that, all the information that Tsiah is presenting here comes from the visual novel. Don’t get me wrong I love this man’s channel and obviously his explanation vids are concise and easier to digest than reading through a whole visual novel given his whole channel is about taking aspects of the lore and explaining them. That being said all the raw info is present within the VN, I think misinformation mainly comes from two factors. The first is anime only’s which I think is obvious given the huge swathes of lore and info that is cut from adaptations. The second is the fact that scouring a vast vn for information is difficult given that A) said information is spread out across a long, long story, and B) there are unreliable/uniformed characters who give information and lore like Kirei and Rin. Mistranslation also likely plays a factor given their is no official translation.

The design of the Shadow is really creative. Whenever it appears in quiet scenes, it makes my skin crawl. What I really like about HF is though it's arguably the darkest route in FSN, its ending is so satisfying and happy; Rin and Sakura reconcile and try to make up for all the lost time, Rin was just as important as Shirou to saving Sakura.

3:24 I heard somewhere that the original scene for this was that when the Shadow saw Gilgamesh walking towards Sakura he ran away essentially, and you could see the shadowy figure running away into the darkness, and when Gilgamesh turned his back he sneak attacked him and ate him up. Gilgamesh is a fucking menace bro, the anime didn't do him justice at all.

HF movies were preferable to UBW which was mostly a dud for me, but still I can only remember maybe 3 things that happened in the second movie. First movie was very good much like how the first Rurouni Kenshin live action was very good then it dropped off in the 2nd and 3rd. Still nothing can hold a candle to /Zero but I have seem some good scenes from Prisma Illya of all things.
