Never had a problem with any of Casio's negative displays. Even in dim conditions.. just use the light function. This model looks intense! Gonna scoop one up as soon as I can.

Thank you for the info about the negative display not being upgraded. The GW-9400 should be refreshed with the negative displays that are used on the GBD-H1000 and GPR-1000.

I got the GW9400-1B a few weeks ago and love it. The style is good and I like the negative display. I see the time pretty well for having aging eyes. Great watch.

For everybody had a legibility with the display just replace the front polaroid film with a super high contrast polarizer if you don't have an issue with disassembling. The result is pretty good!

Thanks for the honest review as always. That's what's great about your channel man, you're a G enthusiast but not a fanboy. The only Rangeman of this generation I own is the GW-9400KJ-8JR. This one doesn't convince me to buy another.

This moron never liked the GW 9400. He´s always picking on the watch. He even said that the mud resistance isn´t as good as in other G´s, when in another video he claims that every G-Shock, even the regular ones are mud resistant. He´s an idiot.

How does everybody have the issue of not being able to read a negative display? Are you talking about in a dark room or environment? That’s why they have the backlight. Idk what everyone is complaining about.

U r right but the thing is they are hard to read in dark so we need to use light which will consume battery but with this watch it’s not a huge problem bcoz it has solar

@@Rivals-jo4nsThey are but in the dark the positive display is hard to read as well. I did a lot of night operations in the military and both of them you need the backlight. During the day both styles are perfect. I am in the same boat as others with the whole negative display thing. Personally, I have horrible eyesight and use glasses and both are perfectly fine.

The display should've been an STN display. Its been 7 years since this model was released so they should have upgraded the display since they know that the regular negative display is bad or not easy to read.

We are just saying that with the display technology that Casio has nowadays and for the price they are selling this watch, they should have put their STN display which has a better/clearer display so the watch will be worth its selling price and everyone who bought or will buy this watch will be happy or satisfied with the display.

I really want to like it, but I'm returning it because of the terrible legibility. I also own the GD350 and that negative display is so much better..for less than a third of the price. I guess it is okay if you don't have anything better to compare it to.

I got this just to see in person for myself, end up not liking it too much. It is similar to any negative display rangeman though. Works good at bright daylight. Indoors not so much like I already demonstrated in the video. I sold it already.

Are you refering to the Mudmaster GG B100 ? If so, different but yet similar in functions. I would pick the 9400 for the solar technology, dedicated button for the stopwatch and the screen recorder among other things.

Nope, I think they made the right choice by leaving the buttons stainless steel/silver. It adds a nice contrast from the black and gives it a more premium look imo. It’s still plenty stealthy

I ordered one from Amazon. It arrived today. As soon a I took it out of the box I knew it was going to be returned. The numbers on the all black are not easy to read. Perhaps a younger person with younger eyes may be able to read the display but I can not! Will find something else.

The lug break issues were caused by the use of non-integrated-designed 3rd party parts. You'll be fine if you use it as it is.

I was torn between this one and the regular one. I must say the 9400-1B is too dark. Even in regular room ambient light I have to use the lite button to see the display. Should have gotten the 9400. The quality fit and finish is very good. I own a Rolex GMT-II and a citizen Skyhawk limited edition Titanium with a sapphire crystal. Other than the darkness it may be my new favorite. I have a skinny wrist and it doesn't seem as big as I anticipated.

Just had a module failure (second hand stops) on a virtually unworn £500 Gulfmaster. I thought these G-Shocks were supposed to be bullet proof. Only saving grace is the cost of repair was reasonable. This poor quality has put me off adding any more G-Shocks to my collection!

Just bought mine the quad sensor gulfy it turns out to have split LCD screen right after i arrived home & going through all of the function , gshf also have the same kind of issues but only after 2 years of hard wearing & beating , this is the last g shock for me after owning the gw-9400 with out any kind of hassle & problem for almost 5 years through hell with me 😏
