I follow your uploads anyway so it was a pleasant surprise when I heard it. We're not allowed guns here in the UK so youtube is about as close as we can get to seeing this stuff.
@jaydonbrooker29086 жыл бұрын
UK citizen here, actually you can get a gun here, you need a Shotgun licence for a shotgun, and a firearms licence for a rifle. I actually attend a shooting club every week, i do clay pigeon shooting, .22 target rifle shooting, and then just fun range days.
@jaydonbrooker29086 жыл бұрын
Oh, to obtain a shotgun licence you just need a clean record, to get a firearms licence you need a reason, such as you attend a shooting club. britishshooting.org.uk/getting-involved/find-a-club/?subtype=&location=

Friction between rubber and barrel may roll the rubber off the core. Maybe a shotcup that fully encases the rubber would keep them intact. Smoothbore too.

@elioliver95546 жыл бұрын
I think maybe the rifling could have been a factor in the separation of the rubber from the core, but I think even through a smooth bore the rubber would grab the inside of the barrel so I think there should be a thin sleeve with less friction, like a .5mm plastic sleeve to help with that probkem

So, this is just an idea from someone who has no actual experience with guns or aerodynamics but. What if you used a tap to thread the inside of the tube at the rear of the steel slug, than placed a washer and screw to see if that holds the rubber on better? Might even fly better? I don't know, was just a random thought, would also slightly increase the weight.

I think you should compare each round (if able to) through a smooth bore (no choke) AND a rifled bore. I think the rifled bore and the rifled choke throws off the balance of a lot of the random rounds that you shoot.

I'm wondering if the rifling caused the steel core to separate, I know inertia has a huge roll if not the only roll but I would have liked to see a smooth bore. If you get the chance to shoot the again see if you can pull the steel cores out cut an angled groove on each side hook them out slightly slide them back in nose first and see if they fish hook the rubber. Unfortunately I don't have machining equipment otherwise I'd love to send a modified replicant of these.

@superjudgebunny6 жыл бұрын
I'll take a wager the cores stay in until they get outside the barrel and the rubber outside stretches. Wind fills the gap probably causing separation as the rubber slows due to drag. Then instability drifts them further. Glue them in place or something to keep that rubber on the metal, something like that.

A 22lr shell fits perfectly in place of a 209 shot shell. Load some shells with a 22 round and see if it will work for a primer
@taofledermaus6 жыл бұрын
It won't work because the firing pin will just hit the center of the .22 when it needs to strike the rim to set it off.

Some pretty neato slugs
@UnDeaDCyBorg6 жыл бұрын
So, I got a question. Given that these slugs are heavy on the inside, and light on the outside, what's the point in having them spinning? Won't all the rotational energy go waste? I mean, sure, these might have been equally inaccurate through any other barrel, but I'm not sure the rifling helped here.
