Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. In August 2019, Mary started a new CF medication that changed the trajectory of our future, and life has changed dramatically - including our son, Elijah, joining our family in December 2021. We also have an adorable standard poodle, Oliver, and a hairless sphynx cat, Harry. It's our hope that these videos can be an encouragement to to celebrate the little things in life and find joy amidst a world full of hard realities!

I deal with chronic illness & pain daily and I love the blessing of monotony too! Thank God for it. I did dishes, helped an uncle with an online order, made dinner early. Just blessed monotony. Elijah is just precious.🥰

The beauty of a simple day is just something most people without chronic illnesses don't often appreciate. I've been in bed for almost a month now, lost my job, and just feel so bad everyday right now. It's been a rough month.

Praying for better days for you! ❤🙏🏼 I had a rough fall so I can relate. Many dr appts, hospital stay, tests, and a mediastinoscopy. But in the end it’s wasn’t small cell lung cancer, no malignancy, or lymphoma. (3 1/2 year kidney cancer survivor)

Seeing Peter and Elijah in the rocker reminded me of when my babies were small. I would hold them awhile nursing. I would have a book in my hand most of the time. I believe this became a familiarity that led them to gravitate toward books. They both became readers. To go with the monotony theme, today it is dark and rainy I have the blessing of sitting and reading g, planning on a short family trip with hubby, sister's families and a few grandchildren sprinkled in. I have Crohn's Disease along with a couple other conditions. Years ago I could barely leave the house let alone get to go overnight for something totally fun!! Thank you God.

I went to work. I do home health care. So I went to my first lady today she will be 85 on June 1. Her health is not to good but always so happy to see me. Haha we had a great visit. We went outside because she had breathing problems today. The outside air was a little better for her. Then I went to my second visit a little longer. Went to physical therapy with her. Made a meal for her, helped clean her house. I live helping people. I love to put a smile on their faces. Lol😊😊❤❤

Oh, you play the same music for Elijah that I played for my kids when they were little! So refreshing. I never thought that “little ears” needed that squeaky, artificial version of great music. I played them plenty of kids’ songs as well, but sung by real people. Here’s an idea. Take the accidental tunes he makes on the xylo and make them into his little songs, maybe adding words. Here’s where it could go: when my son was teaching his young violin students and didn’t like the book music, he arranged songs for them and the set was called “ Songs My Mother Taught me.” *heart swell* You will reap so much from the rich life you’re giving him.

I work at a daycare, but today I had the day off so I took my daughter to daycare and left her with her friends while I went to run errands in the city(an hour away) by myself. I brought my dog and we met some fun people, and one horrible person who grabbed her snout and shook her fave and told me that big dogs don't have brains(she's a border collie/McNab heeler) I was so baffled u have never felt so much anger towards another human. I was so sickened by hurting my dog. The rest of out day was wonderful but I was more hesitant to let strangers pet her after that

The glass of water for anxious thoughts works something similar to giving or having someone drink water if they are crying really hard. Emotions really don't take up thinking space whereas physical movement albeit automatic involve some level of thought to complete. When our brain is overwhelmed with emotion we aren't able to think clearly to accomplish things so tricks like this can be small things we may be able to as a distraction.

“We could never have loved the earth so well if we had had no childhood in it, if it were not the earth where the same flowers come up again every spring that we used to gather with our tiny fingers as we sat lisping to ourselves on the grass, the same hips and haws on the autumn hedgerows, the same redbreasts that we used to call ‘God’s birds’ because they did no harm to the precious crops. What novelty is worth that sweet monotony where everything is known and loved because it is known?” - GE

Zofran works wonders without any sedative side effects like with phenergan. Sadly, I have diabetic gastroparesis and nausea will just pop up from time to time. Nothing worse than being nauseated and not being able to get the zofran out of the package.. in 100% agreement with you Mary! I am grateful to have it in my arsenal. When I run out, I have to resort to chewable Pepto.. which is ick, but better than nothing. Elijah is cute as a bug and he's growing so fast... he's now a walking dude and boy.. does that make you on the move now for sure! I had twin girls (they are about to be 38) and I was lucky because they weren't climbers and did not tend to get into too many things. I was also super lucky to live close to my mom and she was such a help! Take care you three and thanks for sharing a bit of your day with us!

I don't think I've ever seen a famous xylophonist, but there's always a xylophone for a child to play with. Someone should use that to become a xylophonist. "Yeah, I think I'm turning 34." In MY case, it was easier to remember my age when I was in school, because my birthday is in the summer, so my age coincided with the school year. So, I was five in kindergarten, I was six in the first grade, and so forth. So, instead of keeping up with the calendar year, I could keep up with the school year, to remember. After graduation, it became "The year I turned however old." Since half the year went by before I turned the next age. 7:46 - 7:56 Every day of the year is Friday for me. It's just wake up for the day, then go to sleep for the night. That's it. So, there's literally nothing for me to vlog. That IS the vlog. EVERYDAY of the year, year after year after year. Everyone wants that life (retirement), where they won't have to do anything, but I want (and need) something to do. It's not as fun and nice as people think. That's no life at all. If I had one day of the week to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity ReStore, then Sundays to teach Sunday school, then a part time job of whatever kind, however many hours per week (even if just ten hours), then a day designated to go shopping, then maybe a day to go to a book club or a genealogy tracing club or a Bible study, and if I could think up a vlog out of thin air, like for example, being able to take a walk, and have a park as the destination of the walk before going back home, and that being the vlog, if there was something, anything, for me to do, like that schedule, that would have been a whole lot better than just wake up then go to sleep. I'm merely staring at the same four walls, and that's it. There isn't anything for me to do or vlog. I need something to do. So, that, in itself, is my vlog. And in fact, no vlog is my vlog, since there's nothing to vlog. So, it's like, why do I exist? So to answer your question, that's what my vlog would be. I guess my telling this story, is the vlog.
