Pretty sure these guys aren't beasts. They don't take extra damage from serrated weapons or anti-beast weapons. They're probably the Vileblood equivalent, though, since the Vilebloods used different blood from the Healing Church.

@@shagarumedic Maybe. Fully-fledged Vilebloods would probably turn into boss version, like how the Church hunters become Clerics Beasts instead of regular beasts. But Maria also rejected the use of her blood in favor of Gehrman's methods, so she might be a fair bit more beastly than the average Vileblood. Plus, her blood abilities manifest as fire, rather than the poison that the Vilebloods usually used. Also, Bloodlickers aren't the only examples of these creatures; the Lost Children of Antiquity(the gargoyles) are also weak to Righteous damage, as are the spirits of Cainhurst castle. Between all that and the natural variation in the forms of beings corrupted by blood, a corrupted Maria could take any number of potential forms.

Kind of makes a lot of sense that they resemble ticks/arachnid. Ticks are actually heavily associated with lycanthropy in the sense that they are carriers of Lyme disease witch in some circles is thought to be one of the historical causative effects behind cases of witchcraft and lycanthropy/lunacy. Props to fromsoft for hitting all the obscure vampiric lore marks.

To be honest, Bloodborne story by itself was an expirience you wont be able to replicate, so i never get what we could get from a sequel. I think Miyazaki is great at creating unique stories, and bloodborne isnt that much of a bundle you can expand on besides "flashier combat and epic grotesque bosses".

@@usermarongoany5616 This is practically what everybody assumes when talking about a sequel and It's honestly stupid. Why does everyone think it has to continue the story. Just make a completely new story, with new characters, in a new setting, that only slightly relates to overall concepts in the previous game. Honestly, they have all the foundation blocks to actually make that type of sequel in the first game already, that which is Loran. They could literally just make the sequel about Loran and what happened, and it wouldn't even have to be related to the first game. Or they could literally just make up a completely new area on the spot. Anything works, they just have to label it as BB2, have it happen in the same world, but not follow on any of the story in the original game leaving it as a mystery. They could have the Great Ones or something else entirely affect a completely different part of the world, because Yharnam isn't the only place around, as character like Valtr prove. They could focus more on the concept of the sea, or on the cosmos, or even on a unique place like the desert which Loran fits perfectly. Literally anything works because it's Lovecraftian Horror and it's not a genre, but a baseline for a genre. Sequels don't have to be related to prequels, people just assume so because they're labelled as such.

@@pantherowow77 I would agree but Graphics is an Umbrella term i think Silent Hill 1 looks good but that's only if it's running on PC with a much higher resolution and no z buffer flickering, same with Bloodborne it still looks good but the low res image coupled with the poor AA means the games full of jaggies, there's all kinds of pop in and the chromatic aberration is over done with no option to turn it of, then on the technical side the load times are two long and the 30FPS cap has frame pacing issues, that's a lot of issues that could all be fixed without touching the art style or graphics.

As you may have noticed, the one controlling the Bloodlickers is the solitary type parasite, yes it's not a tongue, it's a parasite. Like all kin, the infected become hosts for these creatures to feed on while the bearer is lulled into sleep until nothing remains. Do you understand now why in the game the character ends up as a parasite?
