If you think about it, the Bloop is basically just a Godzilla-sized basking shark with teeth. And despite its enormous size, it pays little to no attention to humans. With its sheer size, though, I could easily imagine a mini-ecosystem popping up around it as it lazily travels the oceans, much like how real-life sharks and whales have things like remoras and other small critters congregating around them.

This is not thalassophobia because we can see the gigantic creature in the ocean. Thalassophobia is the fear of not knowing what could be underwater, especially in dark waters. What is portrayed here is megalohydrothalassophobia, which is "the fear of large things underwater, such as whales, underwater structures, and other large sea creatures."
