Seen them a couple of times, but one time stood out. It was actually their final practice before a show in Annapolis (I work at the Gift Shop there). Got on my ex's boss's boat in the middle of the Severn River (right next to the Naval Academy). At one point they snuck up on us by following the river (not crossing it). Out of nowhere they blew past/over us at an incredibly low altitude. Beyond words, will never forget it.

Back in 1991, I drove from Michigan all the way to San Diego to visit my relatives and sight see. My uncle took me to the Miramar NAS (Featured in Top Gun) to see the big air show and it was pretty amazing. They had the F-14, F-15, F-16, the Harrier and even the F-117 which had just been recently unveiled to the public. But the Blue Angels were definitely the star attraction. And not only was the main event awesome but I was actually able to watch them practice days before the show because they were practicing near the city. At one point, I was driving down the freeway and got so caught up in watching them, I almost had an accident. Glad I survived long enough to catch the Air Show that weekend. Haha. Anyway, I never get tired of watching them fly and am really looking forward to this film. I just hope my local IMAX shows it cuz they usually only do movies nowadays.

I'm so excited for this. I grew up near NAS Pensacola and saw them several times as a kid. I was in the Air Force for 12 years, then worked on NASP as a civilian after. One of my projects was post hurricane repair of the Blue Angels hangar and it never got old watching them launch. We got an air show a couple of times a week while they were on station, and one of their low altitude flyovers was right over our office. One day I was in the hangar offices when the female pilot came in after a flight. Everyone was cheering and I was told after we left that it was her first flight with the team. Pretty cool stuff.

[I'm an Army cavalry veteran... by definition ALL Navy personnel are lesser mortals 😉] Jokes aside, while the Blue Angels are a dog and pony show, what they do is dangerous and demanding work with precisely zero room for error. And all these pilots are carrier-qualified, the equivalent of landing on a postage stamp in the middle of the ocean. **I** can't do that and while I might talk smack about them, I do respect anybody who can.

This should be good. I remember sitting on my dad’s rooftop and the solo pilots would flyby over the house so low you could see the pilot. That was back in the A4 Skyhawk days. We lived right across the field from the municipal airport they flew at. My dad was a police officer and he worked event security so we would get to go out and check out the planes after everyone was gone. Pretty cool standing next to one on the runway. Those days are long gone but cool memories nonetheless.
