There is one extremely large (overgrown) european fan palm growing in my back yard It has not been pruned in at least 6 years!! I started doing it myself but may be biting off more than I can chew. Im in sfbay area you mentioned Richmond, can you recommend someone to help me?

Lovely palms. These were available at Lowe's ( of all places) for about one season. Luckily, I got one 15g and it has weathered 11f on 3 occasions. Supposedly hardy to 0 Edit: 4 years later- still have the palm in the ground. I mound straw over it in winter when temps are predicted to be below 15. It has lost the primary spear every year for the last three years ( lows of 5f,4f, and 4f) but it survives. I happened to buy a palm at GG Palms a few years back that I thought was C. h. ‘Vulcano’, but it is now very blue ( Vulcano is green). It is very congested and is still super compact. Could it be related to the smaller of these two? Perhaps there is a dwarfy variation of C.h. Cerifera?

Hey Gary can you seperate the pups? I've heard conflicting results removing them... thinking about removing a couple good size pups and replanting them.

How can we seperate the babies? Is it possible to replant by cutting the baby from mother plant?
