It might seem a strange decision to make a game based on the film starring Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi, but it turned out better than expected, thanks largely to the in-game music.
The objective is to collect various pieces of your stage performing equipment from each of the levels, evade the police and other bad guys, and make it to the Blues show on time.

Yep - they also did Titus the Fox, which I think was actually quite well received (relative to their other titles). In any case, The Blues Brothers is a long way from the car crash of their Dick Tracy games...

Really? That's a shame because my only memory of this game was trying to get the SNES version of it working on one of those crappy Disk-rom systems that were horribly illegal back in the day. The damn thing would never make it past the first screen of the first level before dying in the ass (which I guess was karma for trying to play pirated games) so I never found out if it was any good or not.

@@CopiousDoinksLLC The SNES version is not this game. It's its sequel, The Blues Brothers: Jukebox Adventure. They simply and lazily called it "The Blues Brothers" on the SNES, probably because of this previous game not being present on the console so they didn't need to disambiguate it.

Whoa, I totally forgot that the Amiga version scrolled smoothly! I had this game and a friend of mine had it too but I got it on the Amiga and he got it on PC. We played the PC version together mostly so that version etched into my mind more. Neat!

What happens if you get to the end without collecting all of the instruments?

You can't complete a level if you don't pick the level's item up. Touching the end flag without it, will flash a question mark up on that item's slot at the top, and the level won't end. However if you skip to the last level with a cheat, it just ends in the same way as in the vid.
