@@tabibnialawfirm it’s different in every possible way. It’s the best BMW I’ve ever driven. A class of its own. Been driving the 640 for slightly over a year and it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. If you’re considering getting one, I’m pretty sure you will not regret it :)

Bought one of the last ones made in Sep 2018 - fully loaded too. It is brilliant and has the looks few other cars in its class can get anywhere near. Great engine too - just enough performance for an old fogey like me! Beats my previous 2016 5 Series by a country mile (and that was a great car by any yardstick).

I've picked mine up last Friday and have nearly every possible extra available ,factory order. They've just done a spring update which gives you built-in Wi-Fi hotspot and a new Idrive display the same as the new seven series. I've watched all your reviews on the six series well done mate.

My 2014 640d gc has just passed 100000miles and i still love it. It has it all, power, looks, economy, reliability(so far). Was thinking about maybe changing it as the milage has hit a milestone, but there is no other car i would change it for except the v8 diesel panamera, (and i cant afford that) or a newer 640d gc so im gona keep it and keep on driving. Its a brillant car, and there is some buzz when you beat the likes of an rs focus off the line in a diesel....

Bob did you know the headrest cushion was independently adjustable? Looks like you had the left slide of the cushion extended and the other side flat, which would push your head in the direction you mentioned.

Afrospectivity i have a 2014 640d msport, just passed 100,000 miles and still loving it. Have owned it for the last 65000 miles. Only issue i have is that mine is on 20" rims and they are not good on bad roads, you cant drive the car with anger due to its weight on so low profile tyres if the road is not good. Only car i would change it for is the v8 porsche panamera, its that good.

I'm with you on this one. I think the series 6 Gran Coupe is just the biz: I would love one, I prefer it to the 2 door model. I see you had a head up display on your test car. When I bought my 5 series I opted for HUD and it is simply fantastic. I have been using HUD for 7 years and feel slightly uneasy when driving a car that does not have it.

I've had one for 2 years (same colour as this car inside and out) and it's definitely the best car I've ever had. New regulators on all windows this month, but otherwise not put a foot wrong in 36K miles. Had 2 Jag XFS's before it which were great (a little quieter and more refined - the 640 is more gruff) but the Beemer is miles better.

I have owned one since November, I picked it up still with a years warranty and 20k miles for £26,000. It has the M-Sport Plus package so HUD, Harman Stereo and 20" wheels. First thing I did was swap the wheels for 19" non runflats and the ride has improved a lot. It's quick enough for me and it'll return well over 40mpg on a run. Servicing and extended warranty will be steep but they're kinda offset by the low fuel costs. This is not a sports car by any stretch, too big and bulky for B roads and to be frank it's a car to waft along in rather than hussle. This is a long distance mile muncher. It'll gets looks from passers-by even with the smaller wheels. Not sure I'll keep it long term but I'm enjoying every moment I spend in it.

Love this car, especially the inline 6 diesel. I drove the 530D M sport and although that's the detuned version and has a single turbocharger with 250bhp it sounds just as good, this engine doesn't sound like a diesel. The noise makes you wanna break the rules ;)

I had a 520d for 4 years on a 65 and it was a brilliant car. Bought the 640d and had it a year now and it is superb. Adaptive lights, Hud, comfort seats with memory, HK sound. The only downside is on uk Roads with 20 inch wheels if you hit a pothole your grandma will know about it , it's thuds through the whole car which is painful.

I’m looking at a six series and there’s one thing that’s very confusing and I’d appreciate if someone could help. I’m looking at the facelifted car. The facelifted car has 9 instead of 10 slates in grille, different headlights and wing mirror turn signals. But the one thing that’s confusing are the rear reflectors. I’ve read that they are positioned in the lower section of the rear bumper on the pre-facelift cars, and moved just under the tailights on the facelift. But the thing is that I have seen some cars that appear to be facelifted (2015+) have the reflectors positioned on the lower section of the bumper and some have it under the tailights. Can anyone please help clear the reflector thing up? Thanks!!

I had an e class coupe and now driving the 6. The 6 is bigger and felt heavier than the e coupe, although the 6 is still more engaging, better handling, better gearbox and overall dynamics. Id go for the 6.

The 6 is pretty big boat but the handling is quite sport and impressive for what it is, much better than the 5gt i can say. The 4 series on the other hand is still a more engaging car to drive.

Never had a shitbox like that before that rusted everywhere - and had a lot of other errors - which was quite shocking. Friends of mind have have quite similar experiences. Robitussin Ethanol What? No different to a 5 series? Completely wrong! The A7 is identical to an A6 - except for the rear end. All Mercedes are as dull and identical as each other. The 6 series is a beautifully proportioned, luxurious car.

I know both. The CLS interior and exterior suits 100%. Haptic and tactile experience of especially the window up/down butttons is more precise and the windows in the CLS slides with whistling nearly loudless "sss". The BMW 6 is more bolt in that sense and general more overtech'd in terms of features and has not the roomy feeling and 10cm lower seat level. All in all: The CLS is like an iPhone, where the BMW is more a top-level Android.
