A 3D Fly Through of the famous Bob Graham round. The classic hikers and fell runners route takes in 42 Fells (39 being Wainwright’s) around some of the most stunning scenery in the English Lake District. Run over 24 hours as the 'Bob Graham Challege' or as a multi-day hikers route.

Great thanks. Am reading Richard Askwith’s feet in the clouds, and this helps to visualise it. Billy Bland must be some sort of superman

First of all congratulations on a visually-stunning presentation. Ignoring minor squiggles, here are the major "shortcuts" (or rather better routes taken at the moment). 1. Go much more directly on the final climb to High Raise (or taking Sergeant Man first leads to a comparable saving over your route). 2. Don't go via the flagstones and Stake Pass col. Cut across the Martcrag bogs, cross Stake Beck below the drumlins and use the now quite well-developed little path that slants, then snakes to Rossett Crag. 3. The Climbers Traverse is a roundabout way to Bowfell summit. Bob Grahamers use a line of tiny cairns that slant upwards beneath the southern Hanging Knotts area. 4. Broad Stand or West Wall Traverse are much faster ways up Scafell (though Foxes Tarn is safest). 5. Off Scafell, yes, you take the route indicated but when the rockfields end, you can cut across marshy ground to the edge overlooking Lingmell Beck and use a scree run to zip down a steep section - then slant down through scrubby fields rather than joining the lower-down path by the beck. 6. Don't go over Stirrup Crag. Drop off sharply at the little col before it then traverse to Dore Head. After that, there are minor savings on how you drop down to Honister and Littledale Reservoir - but the above list outlines the "big six". But to repeat, this is an ingenious and very worthwhile presentation-idea.

That’s great thanks Mike. I think I will update it then. I will plot this on an OS map and I might ask you to have a look before I render it in 3D if you don’t mind. It’s all valuable information for future runners and hikers. Thanks again. Steve.

Billy Bland walked it in around 22 hours, but he was an exceptional local fellsman and held the record for over 30 years, it shows that it’s possible.
