Hi Aude, I’m watching you from Portland, Oregon. Thanks for the sweater in the bag tip while knitting sleeves, really smart. I love your green yarn and immediately thought of the “Suriously Holey Wrap” by Stephen West. It only uses 2 colors, but it’s beautiful. I just took Sari’s workshop on cables at Sacred Sheep so I appreciate your modifications on the Book Club cardigan. Happy Knitting!

In the US we have something called a swimming pool "noodle" which are very inexpensive and work beautifully when blocking a sleeve with a cable motif or when you don't want a crease. Another item that would also work is pipe insulation foam tube in various diameters. Both these products are foam with a smooth surface and work better than a rolled towel because the sleeve will dry faster than with a wet towel in it. Beautiful work and great podcast, thank you!!

Hi Aude, thanks so much for a lovely podcast ❤ I love to watch your channel and I’m always impressed with your choice of projects. I recently knitted a Helen Stewart shawl named “Edinburg lanes shawl” that uses a three color fade and would be beautiful with the yarn Kyle got for you in Amsterdam. But your color choices for the vertices unite shawl are stunning too. Love your new stitch markers …. I’m a fan and own many of them …. Will be placing another order soon.

Dear Aude, I liked to read the "Thursday Murder Club"-Books from Richard Osman very much. They are exciting, cool and not bloody. (Of course there are dead people - but there is no horror, no psycho-terror and no expanding scenes of the murdering-process.) Your stitch-markers are exzeptionelly cute - I really do like the little cow - and of course the sheep, like all knitters would probably do. And to your cardigan: I have also knitted a project from Sari Nordlund - the Calliope Pullover - and I have also reknitted the sleeves and made them wider, because I didn't like the relationship from a slightly oversized body to quite narrow sleeves. But now the result is beautiful. I think, the green yarns fit perfect to the pink and the purple. But they are also beautiful with the three of them. Thank you very much for your lovely inspiring podcast. - Gabi (from Germany)

Hi Gabi! Thank you for your kind words. It's interesting to hear that the sleeves were a bit tight on another one of Sari Nordlund's pattern. Hi Aude, lovely podcast as always! For double knit button bands the best advice I have seen was to pick up for every row you have knit on the main body and you should make a little double knit swatch to check that your double knit stitches match the row gauge of the main body. Because the stitches are kinda slipped in double knitting they are slightly longer than in stockinette (I’m sure this varies from person to person though). The last time I did a double knit button band I had knit the body on 3.5mm and knit the button band on 3mm and it ended up perfect! Hope that helps!

Your cabled sweater looks like it’s going to be so cozy. I don’t care much for very fitted sleeves either. Makes it very hard to layer them. A Most Agreeable Murder is a slightly silly but well done cozy mystery. I hope it becomes a series. love your projects, and enjoying sleeve island currently, coming to each round with your highland stitch marker! I knitted the bakker scarf earlier this year and wore it so much in the cold (and particularly the wind, probably the plotulopi there). Although I skipped a couple of rows because I was scared of yarn chicken, in hindsight I can actually see how the suggested yarn amount was just perfect for the scarf, not too much left afterwards (just in case you think the same thing). The crochet is also so fun!! Hope you continue to enjoy!

Oh thank you! Yes, I was mildly concerned about the Bakker scarf because the pattern said the two cakes would be just enough if I didn’t swatch. I’m glad to hear that it’s really enough. Hi Aude: I always enjoy seeing your Stripe Hype Sweater - it is lovely. The green yarns you acquired from Amsterdam are gorgeous, and the pink and purple go with them so well. Well done husband! Are you familiar with the British writer Val McDermid? Such a good mystery writer, not exactly cozy mysteries but excellent. How about Ann Cleeves? She writes the stories that became both the Shetland TV series and the series featuring the detective DI Vera Stanhope. Kate Davies' most recent newsletter mentioned a mystery writer I am not familiar with, Celia Fremlin. She is dead now but her books have recently been published again with beautiful artwork on the covers and I plan on looking for those books.

Great tip, stuffing the sweater in a tight bag as you knit a sleeve. 👍 Your choice of 5 colors for the "Vertices Unite" by Stephen West is great but have you looked at the " Mesmerizing Mermaid Shawl" or there is also the Fiber Fest Shawl you can knit with 3 skeins. There is a version in green colors : utterbhm's Fiber Fest Shawl. I like you choose ebooks it is so much more ecological. I am now knitting a Rock it tee from Montreal Canada during a thunderstorm. ⚡

Manon
