Finding Jesus's still dead body would show that he didn't however we can look at the history of the issue to see what evidence there is for and against. The Nazareth Inscription for example is an unusual inscription by the romans, typically the penalty for theft is 2-4 fold what you stole. The inscription dates back to 40AD and states that the punishment for stealing a body is death, the inscription is slightly after when Jesus would have died and is an admission that the Romans lost Jesus's body. Any explanation of what happened would need to account for that fact, along with other facts that I could bring up that historians base their theories around.

RetroMan I've look at every historian writings of that era. The most popular pick of historians is Josephus. Titus Flavius Josephus some folks like to use Josephus Flavius as a proof that jesus existed, for he mentions jesus in a short paragraph. The problem is, the numbers DON'T add up! Josephus was born Yosef ben Matityahu in 37 CE and died 100 CE. Most scholars assume the year jesus death was between 30 and 36 CE. this means that Josephus and jesus where not contemporaries. Antiquities of the Jews was written between 93 and 94 CE, which is great distance in time from 36 CE. plus the passage that states that Jesus the Messiah was a wise teacher who was crucified by Pilate, usually called the Testimonium Flavianum, has been proven to be a interpolated text that does not exist in the original text from Josephus, and at best was hear say since Josephus was not a eye witness of jesus just as you are not. for IF Josephus really did know him, he would have written a lot more about him instead of the tiny paragraph that we have in the later writings. Josephus never writes about any of the claimed events of the greek new testament. with an investigative research that my family and i did on the historians like Tacitus, Pliny the Younger and others, we were able to prove that none of them where eye witnesses, everything was hear say or interpolated. we did what any court would do and view the evidence and make a collective judgement call based on the knowledge each person brought up, and we declared each claim to be falsehood of jesus in the external sources. if the tiny paragraph of jesus is interpolated into Josephus's writings, who put it there? The earliest reference to the "Testimonium Flavanum" is found in the writings of the fourth-century Christian apologist and historian Eusebius, who used Josephus' works extensively as a source for his own Historia Ecclesiastica, writing no later than 324 c.e. It has therefore been suggested that part or all of the passage may have been Eusebius' own invention, in order to provide an false outside Jewish authority for the life of Christ. Some argue that the wording in the Testimonium differs from Josephus' usual writing style and that as a Jew, he would not have used a word like Christos (Χριστός), at Josephus' time being the Greek term for "Messiah". Thus, the Testimonium Flavanum is a Christian interpolated text.

There are scenarios where Jesus' body could be missing that don't require supernatural interventions, like: What if Jesus' body didn't exist in the first place or what if the disciples destroyed the body to make it look like the resurrection occurred?
@itsJPhere4 жыл бұрын
@The Comedian Just use your imagination. If Jesus was just a Jewish cult leader and not an actual supernatural being, to create "the messiah of the Jews" the earliest Christian cultists claimed that their cult leader "Yeshua" rose from the dead and then destroy the body if he actually was executed on a cross, so that no one could disprove their claims about the resurrection. They could just claim that he fulfilled the prophecies and performed miracles, although "Yeshua" didn't necessarily do anything what they write about him. So why would they do it? Perhaps they wanted their beloved cult leader back so much that they decided to make him "immortal", maybe it was their plan all along or maybe they just were delusional. Or maybe somebody just completely invented the story about the Jewish messiah. How do miracle stories usually begin? I guess we just need gullible people and someone to tell the stories.

@The 99% Google Sunday Assembly atheist church. There's one right down the street where I live as well. Many in NA and England

It's nice to get together with people... Christianity isn't the originator of regular gatherings.

@@incredulouspasta3304 So when Christian's get togeather and worship Jesus you call it organized religion. When atheists get togeather and worship nature. What do you call that?

@@electricspark5271 I'd call it weird, and have a good chuckle.

:). He is just making a fatal mistake. Let him. The more you dwell on Jesus, the more you attack his followers... the more you get into contact with the Word. This always ends up with their eyes opening. Let him.

mizmera The more I listen to these evangelists and interact with their followers, the more reasons I find to not believe.

Evangelist Kim Patrik Hi Kim, can you remember why Francis Collins considered evolution to be a fact? He explained truncated genes really well in that book. Maybe god used evolution to create the species?

@@thumbnailguy756 thats good. Just keep it up. Search for things in the bible to show us all that we are following a lie. Go in deep and dig it out.

I'd agree with Frank, if Christ never rose them it's false hope. But their is just so much evidence, I don't know where to start sometimes.

Start with the most convincing evidence maybe? I'm curious what it is

Y so much quarreling on this... It's Paul who founded the new religion call Christianity. Even Jesus worshipped his father Yahweh. Blasphemy to those who worshipped biside one God. Bible clearly written... Even Jesus told Satan to worship his God

If I wasn’t a Christian I’d probably be Jewish. If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, then He would just be a false prophet, and we’d still be waiting on the Messiah.

Frank is so wrong here. How can you disprove Jesus rose from the dead or was god? You can’t so Christianity is not falsifiable.

Lunar Night Great. If you can not prove nor disprove something, then belief is not warranted.

Do you consider eyewitness accounts as a reliable source of information?
@d3faulta4 жыл бұрын
Lol, he gave you the answer and you still don't get it. If you find the body then he obviously didn't rise from the dead.
@thumbnailguy7564 жыл бұрын
Melech77 I don’t consider an old book of stories about gods and dragons remotely trustworthy. So even if you had eyewitness accounts in it they’re not trustworthy. But you haven’t even got that. Even if we were to assume the bible was true, you don’t have one eyewitness account that you could take into a courtroom.
