I am South African and I got two Boerboels. I got them from a friend at school as a gift. They are the best dogs in the world and I love them. They are smart, loving, and keep your property safe. My parents love them too. Very strong physically. If you take them for a walk it's best to take them one by one.If they are two they fight to lead and they will pull you like you are nothing. Really special dogs and easy to train.

I picked up one of these walking on the side of a busy road at 1030 at night. He was older. It took a minute to get him into the car but he hopped right in. Got him scanned for chip and took him to the shelter he came from. Shelter called owner and he was picked up. His name was Duke. Sweet dog. Whined the whole night probably confused and missed his owners. He was a big lug. I like these dogs

I love boerbols. My very first one had just passed away. It was sudden and unexpected. He was only 4. We bought him in the states...I can only think he had some heart disease. We miss him greatly

I've been a Boerboel fan for almost 20 years, but i went with rescue apbt/bullies for the past 15 years. Starting to seriously consider Boerboels because I'm going to be moving way out onto the country and getting livestock. Going to research for a few more years and i hope to have such a great dog as he's got.

Mr. Moore, my hat of to you :-). Rarely do i see a more honest and true explanation of the Boerboel breed. Very impressive Boerboels imo. And Mizpah (GrootGeluk boerboele) is legendary in the Boerboel world. And most important they have the Boerboel face, not the bulldog or hound face but the typical Boerboel face. personally i like the Avontuur, Bosvlei and Middelpos dogs and Spitsvuur breeds some stunning examples as well. @@MrDMikeM I just subscribed to your channel if that's okay? I don't mean to sound slow because most of the time I don't think I am , lol, but you are the guy talking in this video, correct? I loved it. I have been a lover of large breed dogs all of my life. Back before the internet when you had to use the Dewey Decimal system to find library books you wanted to read I would spend hours finding and reading books about large breed, especially mastiff type dogs. I looked at the dog magazines also and would literally read every ad in the back for breeders and how much their puppies were. I was like 11 so go easy on me lol. Anyway, while watching your video I fell in love with your dogs and I think I fell in love with where you live as well. So beautiful. I just wanted to say hello and to tell you thank you for doing this video. I have loved Boerboels for a long time and still hope to have one ( or 3 ) in my life some day . My boerboel was named Odin as I fancied a Viking name for it....and he was known as "Odi". Had to put him down in the year this clip was posted - reached 12years but his back gave in. It was difficult taking him to the Vet.

Thank you for the great content. We rescued a shepherd x puppy. Mama and all 8 siblings were adopted. All had the same daddy. Mastiff blonde masked boerbul. Ears and tail heavy body. He is only now growing into his hind legs. We have been u tubing it and your crusher has us convinced dad was a boerbul. He is all you describe especially re the stubborn quality and the scenting. Shepherd makes him even smarter and yet more skittish. He would be benefitted by an older male in the pack. Happy trails.

Mike, These are beautiful dogs and I told my wife today. When our older on pass on this will be what we have as our 1 family dog. I love how they look like a complete dog. Not a juiced up pit type, or the goofy pinned ears of a cane corso. They just look like over sized lap dogs with far as I have read or seen great personalities.

you hit the nail on the head about this breed. We currently have one at home and will breed with her. They are so protective, can hear and see stuff a long way away. She guards us and our kids and will bark when a stranger comes to our place. I won't be getting another breed of dog anytime soon.

I've grown up around Boerboel dogs, as an adult I've only owned Boerboel dogs, I'm 49 year old.... These dogs will die for their owners, they are particularly protective of the kids in their family and will always be close to them whenever they are outside, they are amazing dogs....

Very strong dog. In my village we had 22 dogs. All onther was killed by snow leopard and brun boerloel survived. And he was old too.
