I came for the amp, 10s in, I was already shocked with the awesome tone... but then I was just speechless from the intro... probably one of the best guitar song I heard in a long long time. Nielsen bringing the goods with his playing again.. awesome phrasing. Amp sounds good too! What a great time to be a guitar player. Guys in the 80's were cascading SD-1's into a clean amp and here we are with all these options. I kind of feel like this does what I want the Helios to do. That brown-variac squish is fantastic. This thing sounds like it could cover some VH tones too.

As the others have already mentioned -- great playing on the intro tune. I've own a few Bogner's over the years, I still own a Goldfinger 45 I bought new in 2010 (I think). The JB45 sounds great -- that red ch -- wow. It's got that Bogner bark and toothiness.

It’s pronounced “shizz-oh”. It’s German for “I’ve been living in the U.S. for 40 years and I still can’t spell.” I bought his Fish preamp back in 1994. I’ll blast on him if I want. Schizo. My Fish still sounds like 20 freight trains colliding with a an army of tanks. It’s badass. And it can sound sweet, too. Schizo. Schizoid. Schizophrenic. Reinhold Bogner.

Excellent song and playing demo for this amp! I'd love to see more on that 2x12 though. How would this 212 be with the 3534 50w? Think it could convert to closed back nicely? I've been favoring closed backs last few years and creambacks, but really want a Bogner vertical 2x12 in this exact style but was thinking closed back instead of open.

@bighairyguitars question for you: Xtc 3534, Helios Eclipse or JB45? Love the intro and the tones in this video!
@BigHairyGuitars9 ай бұрын
Thanks Andy! OH man! Brutal. I LOVE the 3534 50w... I actually haven't sat with the Eclipse for long, but I think it's too pointed and gainy for me (like the 35w 3534)... The JB is really up my ally. It's not very tight, but I love that. It's SO classic sounding. I don't have an answer for you, but if you're looking in the vintage direction go JB. If you're harder rock guy then maybe the 35w or Eclipse. If looking for something slick and versatile, do the 50w
@andyjones64969 ай бұрын
I had a Shiva 20th Anniversary that I sold and have always regretted! I just loved the grit and the sound from the KT88s. I loved the sounds you got from the 3534 50watt in your vid. I'm probably leaning to either the 50watt or the JB45. Let's see what is available here in the UK when it comes time to buy :)

Hey! I’m really considering the Bogner 3534 because if the overall versatility. How does this amp stack vs an Ecstasy? Or just an overall different animal altogether? This one is maybe more vintage in character?
@ianfurqueron58509 ай бұрын
The intro song is amazing. Is this video early? I can't seem to find anything else about this amp online.
@wabisabi73999 ай бұрын
Which would you choose? The Royalist or this? I undestand, this has better resale value, but the grin u had while reviewing the Royalist was different.
@BigHairyGuitars9 ай бұрын
They are kind of similar AND different. The Royalist is cranking the amp full blast into its own attenuator. So, it sounds glorious, but you don't have exact volume control. It's stepped. The Bogner is using master volumes so you can set exact volume... which is nice. The Royalist is a little more open on the top end and deeper on the bottom. The JB is a bit tighter and a bit darker in comparison. Bogner has FX loop, the ToneKing does not. So I think you really have to choose based on your needs. Both are stellar amps.
