Definitely don't change the front end. The aesthetics are great. I would hate to see it changed into a generic jeep looking car or something else that has been done a 100 times before. It stands out on its own with well balanced proportioning. It isn't often that I look at a design and think that it something special.

The Front is handsome and has the Bollinger "B Dial" logo. It will probably start at $60k before $7.5k Federal Incentive. All things considered, it is downright SEXY.

So I'm big on power. I'm looking at a one ton to tow a travel trailer in a few years as a travel nurse. I'm looking at diesel now, BUT, if tech advances like I think it will I could see the agent of a electric vehicle to get me by. Only thing that needs to follow in development is a solar recharge option for a value add. This of course is dependent on a charge solution available in non metro areas that is Eco friendly

This rig is ripe for aftermarket and custom protection and other bolt-ons. Inside and out is a clean slate for customization. Even after paying the inevitable trail tax, body repairs are a simple patch job, cut to fit and paint to match, good as new! Robert Bollinger was aiming for a true utilitarian workhorse and hit the nail on the head. Price wise, if it costs more than $50k, you can expect Bollinger Motors to lose at least half of the potential sales to the Rivian R1T.

I dig it. Looks very defenderish. I would pay more than any other new truck out there now though. 45-50k max.

I like it. Only issue is the suspension. Hope owners can add aftermarket solid axle suspension for real rock crawling
@brianzander70425 жыл бұрын
Would you gut the suspension from an AM General HMMWV and slap solid axles on? You could, but why would you? That is essentially what you would be doing here because the B1 has the same setup, dual A-arms, portals and inboard brakes. The motor location would not allow for the conversion on a B1 and quite frankly, would completely undermine the whole design concept of the vehicle. It would be easier and more cost effective to fabricate a look-alike body on a conventional truck/jeep chassis.

Their website listed the base model around 60k. If your going to compare it to rock crawling, why not airplanes and ships too... it's designed to be a match for a Jeep in mud, snow and trails... but NOT Rock Crawling... but let's see a Jeep tow 10,000 pounds, or haul a 100 foot board. Considering it was designed by a farmer to combine a UTV and a Jeep/Pick up into one, he did well. I am more disappointed by the fact that an electric Jeep simply doesn't exist... electric is going to happen so why spend 10 years dragging their feet whining about it. Just build it and let the market decide instead of letting new upstarts actually beat you to every good idea. I personally would like a gas electric (not a hybrid!) in pick ups, Jeeps and SUV's... only VW built it as a tiny car that gets 300mpg... I would settle for a 100mpg Jeep!

No price is currently listed on their website but I can only hope it retails for 60k (or less). Sorry to nitpick but Robert Bollinger is an industrial designer who owns a "farm" but I would not consider him a "farmer". Also, the towing capacity is listed as 7500 lbs (more than double the Wrangler's), total weight of vehicle plus maximum sprung load is 10,000. Details can change in a year so I'm not faulting you but just wanted to update your comment for accuracy.

I want this thing soooo bad. I'd buy it today if it were out and I could afford it.

By not having all the fancy tech they can probably keep the price down around $40000.

I have one major problem and that is not range, it's about too square to be practical when you go rock crawling. Jeep's overall roundness in front makes it excellent to see what's up in corner.
