Great review! I’m okay with the mods becoming a thing, I believe we’ll collectively get more used to it over time. Couple things I agree I would like more information on: the Bib double-cross on Boba needs to be addressed. The other thing maybe you could answer is I’m not clear on the timing… we know Mando is 5+ years post-Jedi. Boba picks up from Sarlacc and then he mentions the Tusken’s was several years ago(in flashback)!? So what happened between tuskens and fennec. He was with that Bantha for YEARS and then kicked it to the curb? Not really tracking for me timeline-wise it’s a bit fuzzy. Hoping someone can help clear it up for me.

Kristian, great show as always....hi Steph(electronic wave). I think people have to really understand the growth Boba had being around the Sand people. Boba and Fennec for the most part were isolated, lonely bounty hunters. Bounty hunting has been a lonely occupation for them. I think the Sand people showed Boba that there is not only strength in numbers but the value you have when you establish "true loyalty" within a family...that is the real power. Boba understands this after being around the Tusken clan, which I believe was one of his inspirations in being a crime lord. So what many interpret as being weak, actually makes him strong because he understands the power of family and loyalty. I don't think they do of good job of portraying it on the show but we are watching a very intelligent Boba evolve a lot more than what is being noted. He was already intelligent before becoming a slave of the sand people...but it seems he has added more to his certain set of skillz. #ShowALittleClass

The entire surgery scene for Fennic Shand took about 90 seconds. Aside from the actor who portrayed the surgeon was a well known musician, the scene contained lots of information that was easy to overlook. The most obvious bit of lore is the severity of Fennic’s injuries. We learn that getting droid parts is comparable to getting tattoos. The surgeon appears to be working on the chic from the Mos Vespa street gang when Boba walked in. Fett and the gang were not exactly strangers when he hired them. It seems the scooter gang needs lots of water to keep their vehicles clean, I also suspect that the scooters are far more than what they seem. They have to have some sort of hidden weaponry.

The two lights Boba sees were the flares Din and Toro used to disrupt Fennec’s scope. I really liked this episode, the only scene that I had an issue with was when Boba bumbles around the kitchen. I feel like Fennec is almost the protagonist in the show. She makes stuff happen while Boba is kinda bumbling around intimidating tiny droids. I would have loved to have seen a flashback sequence in this series of Boba leaving Bespin with a frozen Han while the other bounty hunters chased him down trying to seize the cargo and claim the bounty from Jabba for themselves. I recall this from legends expanded universe lore I think. They could have truncated the Tuskan Raider stuff a bit and sprinkled a little more clips from throughout his life which would could have made the story a lot more whole. A scene of him during his teenage years may have been interesting. While the series itself is good enough there are just a lot of missed opportunities to develop a more well rounded character... And ultimately what it seems like we will end with is yet another tease of this character who doesn't ever really get to be the bad ass we always wanted to see him being.

Kevin Tancharoen directed this episode exceptionally. It felt the most like Star Wars to me. The scene when Fennec sends the recon droid to Jabba's Palace looked like George Lucas's visual style. The way the little droid flies by the camera while it's nighttime on Tatooine-- that had the "mood" of Star Wars. Kind of reminiscent of Darth Maul doing his recon stuff in Phantom Menace. My complaint about this series so far has been in how static every looks... everybody's always standing around and talking slowly. But this episode for the most part had a great pace and was the most cinematically creative... Star Wars isn't just cool characters fighting battles, it's also one of the most imaginative franchises of all time, so it's important to retain that creativity in how they film these new shows. Tancharoen gets a gold star from me. 👍

I think Boba asking the gangs to stay neutral is a plan. I think he asked them to be neutral knowing they prolly wont. It's a way to weed out the enemies. I think the outta place tech guys are supposed to be the star wars equivalent to tattoos, body mods, colorful hair and that kind of culture which looks out of place in our society as well, just like how the "tattoo artist" asks fett "aren't u too old to be in here". I think that whole scene put into perspective what they were goin for with the whole "emo, tech mod side culture weidros" of the star wars universe or "the edgy tech mod youth". so I accept the explanation of them in this episode. I totally agree with ur assessment of them last episode that they were out of place, but I appreciate that they addressed it kinda like they some of the audience would be turned off by the whole look and asthetic. I also appreciate that boba addressed why he has become so much more merciful and "agreeable" than he used to be, it's obvious the Tuskegee really changed his perspective on life and he says as much in this ep. fennec more or less tells him to stop bein such a pussy, and he snaps back with the whole "u need a tribe to succeed, and the Tuskens showed him "another" way, again like the showrunners already knew the pushback from fans would be there n offer a explanation (which I feel like us as an audience shouldn't be dumb enough to need everything spelled out, but considering all the backlash and refusal to accept the story being told her rather than "WAAAAAA ITS NOT MY BOBA FETT ITS BETA FETT!!" maybe we do need our hands held lol)...either way I feel like this ep put us back on track from the lackluster ep 3.

Do you think that flipping the running order of the series so that Obi-Wan follows BOBF so closely might turn out be a mistake? Andor was into production well before the Obi-Wan series, and now seems to have been bumped back to follow it. So that means (unless Obi-Wan takes some really surprising turns) that we're going to get two series in a row, right on top of each other, that take place predominantly on Tattoooine. It's 'Star Wars', not 'Sand Wars', after all. The proof will come later of course, but on the face of it this does seem like a strangely limiting thing for a saga with a whole galaxy to play in to do.

Cad Bane has history with Fennec who defeated him. Boba shot Cad in the head, so bad blood there. Krayt's Claw has teen Boba's bounty hunter team, Bossk (Black Krrsantan wouldn't like him), Dengar, combat droid H-21 Highsinger, Latts Razzi, the purple Theelin girl, my favorite is Embo, the Kyuzo with the hat, Dave Filoni likes to bring in Clone Wars characters. It could be just one to three have survived or could be contacted.

Remember a lot of these bounty hunters are "business first." If the money is right, he can get over the bad blood.

Who do you think actually carried out the slaughter of the Tuskens? I suspect it would be someone who does not like Boba Fett. It would make a lot sense if it were Cad Bain, which could lead another flashback of the shootout that dented Fett’s helmet, and nearly killed Bane.
@TheKristianHarloff2 жыл бұрын
Pykes for sure, maybe in works with Bib?
@thesharpercoder2 жыл бұрын
@@TheKristianHarloff Yes, Pykes may have been behind it, but I do not think they would actually do it themselves. I think the Pykes would hire someone to slaughter the Tuskens, and make it look like the speeder bike gang did it. Remember, the Pykes had told Fett that they were already paying tribute to the swoop bike gang. Eliminating the gang serves the Pyke’s best interest. No, I think some party framed the gang for one or more reasons. Who had the most to gain is someone were to get rid of the gang? Again, I suspect the Pykes hired someone to frame the gang. My gut says that hired someone could very well be someone who does not like Fett.

So, for those who wondered why Krysanntan was so angry, it wasn't just because of the things that have just happened to him, it's because they were Trandoshan. The Trandoshan are little shits who hunt and kill Wookies for sport. The first episode shows one giving Boba a Wookie pelt as a tribute. The fact that they were having such a good time after the atrocities they have committed to their people just plain pissed him off. At least he only ripped his arm off as he knows full well that Trandoshan limbs can regrow.

PG-13 STORY IDEA: BK’s scene in the bar done in the bancta pod fight w/ Boba, but BK does his work against the teen mods (including pulling an arm and cracking a back), but the mod gang collectively uses some cool tech to detain BK, and a hobbled Boba tells them he can join them or die. BK grunts his approval, and Boba tells the shocked teens to let him go, causally stating “You know where to get a new one”. That could setup some serious infighting within Boba’s team, w/ BK and the new-armed mod eventually ending up becoming blood brothers in the future.

I’m really enjoying Boba; but I have the feeling that alot still has to happen - and there’s only 3 episodes remaining. A war/battle should take up a full episode (at least); and I agree with Kristian - the Pykes don’t seem to be the main threat. If it’s Crimson Dawn - where are they? Where the character build. I then think - perhaps there is going to be a 2nd season (Book of Boba, Volume 2)?!

My dream for the Book of Boba Fett finale is that reject Jango clone impostor gets taken out by Cad Bane. Then the real Boba Fett shows up in the Slave 1. Which is why the ship that reject Jango clone is driving is no longer referred to as the "Slave 1". Make it so Disney!

I don't think Din Djarin will show up in this show, that music cue was just to let you know it was him fighting in the distance. They even skipped passed the events of The Mandalorian Boba was present for in the flashbacks and went straight to Boba killing Bib Fortuna. There isn't really much reason for Din to show up in present day, and it looks like we're done with the flashbacks, so I'd say the chance for him to feature has passed.
