Loved the Tusken part, the whole tribal and ritual thing got me, also the background, for me their were just a pain in the ass for everyone on Tatooine like the Jawas. Now I'll never see the Tusken the same way. The fact that Boba got their respect is deep.

Boba got out of the sarlacc not that long after the end of ROTJ. The wreckage of Jabba's barge is still smoking and Cobb Vanth said in Mando Season 2 that he had to book out of Mos Pelgo the same night the 2nd Death Star was destroyed, and he came across the Jawas a few days after and bought the armor.

The whole receptionist scene could have played off so much cooler if it was a protocol droid. Protocol droid is all “we don’t have you on the list” then you just hear blaster fire and boba walks in and throws the droids smoking head at the mayors feet. Instantly more badass, doesn’t drag you out of the scene, establishes Boba.

Boba Fett's line about sending "gladiators" to kill him is actually a dig on Black Krrsantan. In the comic books, Black K was actually trained to fight in the gladiatorial pits of some planet before he escaped and became a mercenary/bounty hunter. I think it's Boba basically telling Black K "I know you, so don't think that you can take me that easily."

I dont know if its confirmed, but Jango's head fell out of the helmet when Windu killed him. It's shown as a shadow in The Attack of the Clones. So, it's not as graphic you think Kristian; Boba isn't holding his dad's decapitated head.

I enjoyed hearing Steph and Mike's take on both episodes. My step brother pointed out to me that the bar is Toshi Station and that the couple are Camie and Fixer from the deleted scene in "A New Hope." I thought that was an awesome deep dive. I hope there are more like this throughout the rest of the season.

I still think the Tusken flashbacks are going to tie in to the season more than people think. I believe the people he stole the speeder bikes from are connected to Jabba and therefore Bib and now the twins. I believe that gang are going to slaughter the Tuskens and Boba goes to find his armor to get revenge for losing a family for a second time

I think it’s more likely they build even more on the Tuskens back story. He gets in trouble/betrayed in present day with the syndicate he is building and he utilizes the Tuskens to defeat the Hutts.

I wanna hear more from the other two guests and I think wanting the gangster show you’ve always dreamed of could set you up for disappointment, seems you’re forcing this narrative instead of just letting the show play out for what it is, I loved that they made getting his final weapon a meaningful spiritual part of their culture instead of well he hung out with them so he just got one, these little details are great world building and now it has so much meaning every time we see one, my approach is letting go of what I want and letting these story tellers tell the story they want, joining their ride ❤️ Love this channel been with ya since the early schmoes days 🙏🏽

I know you say you’re done with the Tusken Stuff, but I love diving into the that culture. I think the reason they spend so much time with it is because they are showing him gain their respect, and they will return later on as an ally to his crime family. It was crime boss-Esque when he told the fish aliens they will be paying a toll to the tuskens if they ever want to pass through again.

We are seeing Boba’s journey in stages. Episode 1 flashback focuses on the kid/growing up, Episode 2 flashback focuses on his warrior side, prediction for Episode 3 is a flashback on his leadership maybe uniting the different tribes which ties into what he is trying to accomplish in present day and how he will have the tuskens as a secret weapon against his enemies on tattooine

Great discussion guys. One thing about the Banthas. This episode is very much a homage to western films of the past. In the 1800's the US Military used to shoot buffalo to deny the native tribes an important source of food. In this episode the Pykes were doing the same to the Tuscans by shooting the Bantha's first. That's why so many were killed.

Love the discussion, love the Sith Council! Whenever one of these Disney+ shows come on, its like Star Wars season. After an episode the discussion is like the 2nd part of the experience. The twin Hutts and Black Krrsantan scene sequence is one of my favorite in recent memory. Also I think it was a George Lucas rule that the Tuskens can't show their face. I could be wrong though.

The Tatooine oceans thing was in the old Legends canon before, not sure if it's ever been stated in the new one until now. If I remember correctly, even KOTOR mentioned it during the Tatooine portion of that game, including touching on the whole honor, warrior culture of the Tusken Raiders and also stating that Tuskens and Jawas are distantly related through some ancient ancestral species back when Tatooine still had oceans and greenery.

Interesting that you said you have a hard time seeing the ROTJ Boba, because that Boba Fett "died" in the belly of the Sarlacc. The person who clawed his way out of the Pit of Karkoum in the first episode is no longer the Boba we knew. Notice how the Jawas stripped him of his armor. That symbolized resetting him as a character. Boba has become a blank slate. This whole series is basically Boba re-creating himself as a new person, no longer driven by vengeance and greed, but motivated by finding a tribe, a family of his own.

When Boba Fett escaped the Sarlacc Pit, Jabba’s Sail Barge can be seen in the background, and there is a little smoke still rising from it. Where is Boba Fett’s spaceship? He is saved by Tuskens. He has a spaceship. Why would it take the Hutt’s five years to show up to claim Jabba’s empire? Was Bib Fortuna working for the Hutts?

In the Legends mythology Tatooine was lush and the Tuskens were slaves of the Ratakan Infinite Empire, which existed thousands of years before the Republic. The Tuskens revolted and the Ratakans torched the planet in retaliation. It was strongly implied that Tatooine is the human homeworld and that Tuskens were the original humans and that under their suits they are human. Their suits were originally hazmat suits that kept them alive after the destruction of their environment. That was all laid out in the original Knights of the Old Republic videogame. That could be what BOBF is drawing from.

Great showing 👍I'm loving this show and how it's taking the time to build the story! I think a lot of devision from fans comes from the expectation that builds up after waiting a long time for content and then wanting everything at once. The Netflix model of dumping a whole season at once has contributed to this and therefore when you get slower/world building episodes people get frustrated because they then have to wait another week in this ludacris on-demand culture we live in. I think things will start ramping up from episode 3 but not sure we're entirely done with the Tuskens story. I'm thinking there could be tragedy on the cards for his new tribe or they will return as part of his forces in some capacity when his enemies seem to be on top of him!

I don't think they're going backward in time for the flashback sequences. I think they're sticking to what happened after the Sarlacc leading up to when he figures out where is armour is. Maybe they'll show some old clips from the time around ESB or ROTJ but I doubt they filmed any new scenes for that time period.

Kristian, my thought after this episode was that he is not going to go bad in the present as it seems people expect. We will get him being bad bad (not bad ass bad) in flashbacks. In the present he is changed from the raiders experience. He found family etc and now is the more about honor/respect etc. he will be bad ass in the present. Just not bad bad.

In the Dawn of the Jedi comics they say that 25 000 years before ANH the Rakata destroyed the lush planet of Tatooine and turned it into a desert. The Jawas and Tuskens are descendent of the acient inhabitants. Thats why they use those robes. They are like azmat suits.

Great discussion as always, loved tuning in again! 🙂 My favorite scene was when Boba entered the "bar" and he messed up the guys that owned the speeder bikes. The cinematography with his shadow being visible on the wall after he opened the door was beautiful. I think it was the strongest shot in the episode. The scene with Jabba's family was fine, but I felt like it dragged a little to be perfectly honest. I understand this is super relevant for where they'll be going, but it just lasted a little bit too long for my taste.

Yo Kristian, I'm mad glad that you asked if Fennec will go against Boba. I don't know if you've noticed but whenever Fennic tells Boba that he should do this or that & he disagrees with her, she gives this look of annoyance. At least that's how I'm reading it & that's the kind of vibe I'm getting from her. I think that she's going to betray him because she wants the power & feels he's not capitalizing on it as much as she thinks he should. I don't think Boba will kill her or anything. But I think she'll just go her own way & not be Boba's second in command. What do you think man?
