"Hey, Mando!" (raise blaster) "Don't call me that! No more!" "Than what did should I call you? You never give me your name!" "Nether to you!" "Okay, fair point... I can't argue with that!" Seriously, in the Mandalorian nobody called by name, only episodes later. Like everybody playing colorful but otherwise vague archetypes.

This and the Heiress are two of the best episodes so far imo She really knows how to do Star Wars in a way that's nostalgic without being cheesy and pretty clever with the exihibition. Hope she'll do a few more. I don't particulary like Disney as a company but i have to be honest, making this basically a Mando S3 teaser that delivers a bit of background and ties into Bobas story is pretty clever. The only issue I had was that he seemed to casual about finding Grogu like does he know where he is because I don't think Luke would be that easy to find even for Din.

Bryce Dallas Howard absolutely crushed this episode. I don't know how much Star Wars work she's going to have for the next year, she's directing Flight of the Navigator and given her attention to detail she's going to be zeroed in on that. That having been said, if she is interested, I would offer Howard her own Star Wars or Marvel series to run if I was Disney. I think she can pull it off.

Regarding shiny mods in the previous episode: While replacement body parts were common in the Star Wars Universe (Luke, Vader, etc...) Droid enhancements were viewed very poorly, and this is why you did not see many obvious cyborgs in Star Wars despite droids and advanced prosthetics being common. So, it only makes sense that a counterculture would embrace making them extremely obvious, and in a world of dirty, worn, gritty electronics how better to make your rebellion against social norms stand out than glowing lights and shiny chrome paint jobs, you don't stand out by being grungy in such a world.

Din Djarin AND the Blacksmith are back baby!!! I missed them both so damn much. I loved how she managed to tell most of the story of the Darksaber for people that didn’t watch Rebels. It is still surprising that even though he still has a strong attachment to the Children Of The Watch that he didn’t stay with or go back to Bo Katan, especially after he removed his helmet. Also this episode has convinced me that Bryce Dallas Howard needs to be given her own Star Wars movie to direct!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Theories: A. When the Armorer told Din he was a "Mandalorian no more" it had 2 meanings. 1) He was no longer part of their group/religion/sect. And 2) He was no longer just a Mandalorian. That his past time with Grogu and the experiences he's going to have with him and others in the future...are going to make him more. Like part Mandalorian and part Jedi. Or part Mandalorian creed and some other evolved version of that. B. We haven't seen/heard the last of Moff Gideon. When Din told the Armorer what happened and that he was going to be tried, convicted and punished by the New Republic....the Armorer said, "We shall see." As if to say she didn't believe or "see" that as happening. C. Pelli Motto (Amy's character) is going to be off-world in the future. She specifically said, she never had been. And given everything that's coming up with Boba & the Pykes and her now friendship with Din....she's part of the crew now. She could experience fallout from the war and have to leave Tatooine...or maybe she's part of helping to revive Mandalore....which brings me to my next theory. D. Din....with Grogu by his side is going to return to Mandalore and help restore that planet. Particularly, the waters under the mines that he needs to reintegrate into the creed. Grogu is Force sensitive and could definitely revitalize those waters. Or at least reintegration going to be his intent. Whether that goal remains consistent or it evolves over time, remains to be seen. But I think a return to Mandalore is the focus of S3. E. Finally, I don't think we're going to see Mando with Grogu in the next eppy of TBOBF. Think about it...he has to find him. It's not like they're pen pals and staying in touch. Din's not a Jedi, he can't sense Grogu's location. He'd have to search for and find him and we don't have time for that. I think we'll pick back up with Boba and Fennec and their battle with the Pykes and all the people she's recruited to help and in the final episode, Din will show up at a crucial point and assist. Possibly with Grogu or possibly not. I Think S3 of the Mandalorian we'll see in flashback how they reunited and what that experience was. Maybe he get some Jedi training or tips from Luke. Maybe he just watch Luke training Grogu. I think he will have picked up some things and be better with the saber but not fully trained with it yet. But again, I don't think we'll see that on screen until S3 of The Mandalorian.

I love Wendy's jacket. The reaction of both of your faces seeing Mando was priceless. So iconic that even just seeing Mando's silhouette behind the curtain makes us immediately recognize him and make us swoon. I thought the exact same thing in that I thought that lady mechanic was joking making the droids think she was being eaten. At first, when I saw that starfighter she was putting together for Mando, I initially thought it was a podracer too, LOL! Then, I wondered if it was 1 of the sleek ships featured in Phantom Menace, but the proportion seemed way too small. Then I thought it was the starship child Anakin flew. Because of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, Bryce Dallas Howard has quickly become 1 of my favorite directors now having directed some of my favorite episodes of both shows. It's like the quality and pacing and Star Wars-iness feel of the show just goes exponentially way up in episodes she directs. But I too also noticed it is a bit oddly weird that my favorite episode of The Book of Boba Fett so far does not even have Boba Fett in it, LOL! I wonder if now Mando will now realize he may have more in common with Bo-Katan and he will team up with her rather than go through the whole ritual of redemption thing and she will teach him her ways and from now on, we may see him without his helmet. I am so happy we got to see Mando being a bounty hunter in this episode. LOL..next episode, you guys should drink a boba (tea) while watching Boba (Fett), so you can have a Boba on Boba Wednesday.

He's still Mandalorian. His former little sect of what, two other "Mandalorians" might view him that way, but Bo Katan and her partner took their helmets off all the time. All we have here is a philosophical and semantic debate on whether or not he's Mandalorian. I'm pretty sure 99.9% of the galaxy will still see him as one. I'm pretty sure Visla and the forger will be in the minority on this one.

"Is it you can't take off your Mando helmet, or you can't show your face? 'Cause there is a difference. Look, I'm just sayin', we're all the same. Everybody's got their line they don't cross until things get messy." Din should have said that to the female Mandalorian.

Got to get A LOT of old school feels in this one. LOVED that we got more into Mandalorian culture, Jin's first challenge for the Darksaber, and scenes of The Purge of Mandalore. Also...Mando's rebuild of the old Naboo Starfighter, and souping it up, and taking a run in Beggar's Canyon. And we FINALLY find out after all this time that Jawas are furry underneath those robes. And WHO in their right mind would DATE a Jawa? Bryce Dallas Howard has certainly taken cues from her father in the director's chair. Excellent Episode. Again....LOVE your guys' reactions!

Although this is an episode of the series, the fact that this week's episode was all about our boy Din Djarin makes it feel more like an episode of a new season of The Mandalorian. I don't know, to me saying that this episode is the best so far is more like comparing apples to oranges. It's just 1 orange that got lumped together with 6 other apples. BD Howard does great world building and homages to others movies and books. I’ve always appreciated that they show Mando being vulnerable, not invincible. Great references to past movies and wonderful humor. Peli is a treat! It’s already been confirmed by Disney that Filoni co wrote the next episode with Favreau so yes Filoni’s episode is next week (cause it’s also been confirmed by Disney that Filoni directed an episode as well, so since he co wrote the next episode it seems inevitable he directed it as well). And I agree with Dustin, I think Cad Bane is making his live action debut next week and it makes sense that Filoni is the guy to do it (since Cad is one of his creations alongside Ahsoka and since he was the one to bring Ahsoka to life on screen I think he’s going to do the same with Cad Bane). Also I think there’s going to be a lot of big reveals in the next episode leading into the finale, I think next week’s episode is going to reveal the true main antagonist of the show. Like what Marvel did with Hawkeye, the Tracksuit Mafia were the main threat of the show until Kingpin was revealed as the true main antagonist I think this show will follow Hawkeye’s suit and reveal that the Pykes are answering to another crime syndicate and that syndicate happens to be Crimson Dawn and if Crimson Dawn shows up that means it’s possible that Emilia Clarke is coming back as Qi’ra (since she’s the new leader of Crimson Dawn). So the last 2 episodes are going to get super crazy.

I feel it's sorta fair that we get a mini Mandalorian episode in this season since Boba Fett pretty much got the equivalent of a episode of his own in the last season of Mando. Mandos struggle with the dark saber makes you appreciate the years of training Jedi devote to handle a lightsaber properly. In skilled hands it has no equal but to a untrained person it can cause more harm. I like the call back when din said It felt heavier and heavier using it. In the original development of the lightsaber non force users found it much harder to wield. Also the n1 was a beauty probably one of my most favorite ship maybe more than the x wing but definitely tied for 1st place - Signed suckles

His struggle with the saber also connects to what Kanan explained to Sabine in Rebels when she first used the Darksaber. Esentially that when fighting with a lightsaber you are not swinging a normal weapon, but are directing a current of energy, that emotions and action feed this current and you have to respect it's strength.

A weird episode, just because of its timing. I loved it. It starts with a bang. Seeds loads of material for later; the Dark Saber, his bond with Grogu, leaving his former house/family to maybe link up with other Mandalorians. There may be an unspoken theme of 'you can only get so far without a tribe'. But I was always thinking that they were eating into Boba Fett's story. ... When Mando says he'll help Boba for free, it tells me that Boba and Fennec have already gone out and recruited their (not for free) muscle.

With only two episodes left in BoBF this can pull Mando out of the rest of BoBF because he is going to see Grogu. And Mando 2 will be about Mando and Grogu and Mando learning to wield the Dark Saber from Luke.

Way to catch the way Din covered his injury with the severed head. VERY perceptive. I wonder if that was a director’s choice or the actor came up with it on his own.

This episode feels like a real Star Wars movie, and it's because of Bryce Dallas Howard. Hopefully Lucasfilm will give her a Star Wars movie to direct, same with Marvel Studios.

The Darksaber getting heavier as you use it might be a call back to one of George Lucas's ideas when he was creating the lightsaber as a weapon. Originally Lucas wanted the lightsaber to be heavy to wield because of all that power it contains and produces. That's why only the highly trained Jedi can wield them because they have the right will and strength to do so.

I think the reason Jedi aren't always constantly burning themselves is that they use the Force to help redirect the saber away from them. They also forge a relationship with the Kyber Crystal I think I saw someone say. Mandalorians can't really do the former and they aren't really aware of the latter, so they're kinda at a disadvantage from the start.

Can't believe the Armourer was so hard-core as to cast Din out when there's only three of their sect left. And this raises another larger question: What exactly does the wielder of the Darksaber get to rule with Mandalor destroyed and only a handful of them remaining in the whole Galaxy? Bet Luke might be the one to give Din some tips on how to use the blade

Start to finish a fantastic episode! I’d love a Cad Bane cameo, so long as it’s Corey Burton doing the voice. Also can’t wait to see what Mando’s gift to Grogu is, and of course Grogu himself!

The fact this episode connects with a lot of Star Wars history like the N1 Star fighter from episode one the droid from Jedi fallen order Mando being trained the same way Kanan trained Sabine and seeing r-5 ‘red’ and a tread droid from a new hope k2 droid from Rogue one and imperial probe droid love all these little connections

I love that the hanger "security" system does nothing especially since we know Fennec Shand is super agile and a parkour expert. She probably just climbed to the roof and came in through the large open hangar roof. Me: Security system? What security system?? XD

I like how this episode is basically the opening for Mandalorian Season 3. That BD Droid was the same droid Cal Cestis had in the Fallen Order video game, I'm not quite sure if they're actually THE same. That Halo colony and that club in it is like a mashup of Halo and Mass Effect universe and I love it! That Starfighter kinda reminds me of the Batmobile from The Batman, and customized version of something that has a crapload of engine power. If there's going to be a figure or model kit of that I'm preordering it Day 1. 🤣 Bryce Dallas Howard did such a fantastic job on this.

Sabine and Bo Katan are still better at wielding the dark saber. Sabine was trained by Kanan how to use it which is better than a Mandalorian teacher unless they have experience with it.
