I think they really should have stuck with low doses of Boba Fett, keeping him as an occasional returning character in the Mandalorian. The franchise already milked his popularity by creating a whole planet and religion around his look and stoic demeanor, yet the Mandos are all about honor whereas Boba in the original films was all about getting that cash. So just have Boba pop up once in awhile whenever Mando's interest in honor and Boba's interest in cash align.

I have briefly enjoyed the introductions of some new characters and the Lawrence of Arabia homage episode, but the action is so boring. It feels like there's nothing at stake. The chase scene in the third episode was so terrible. I have not been so disappointed with Star Wars since Leia "used the force" to fly back into a ship."

The problem is they didn’t have to bring Boba Fett back if they wanted to make mando into a boba type character. They could’ve left boba out all together or just made reference to him without actually introducing him as a character in the Mandalorian. What it looks like now is they only brought him back to destroy the character and spit in all the old school fan’s faces just like they did with the other OT characters. The Star Wars universe is huge and they could create any number of new unique characters with compelling stories but they’d rather rehash and ruin the already beloved ones instead apparently.

I laughed so hard when, during the fight with Cad Bane, Boba kept saying “These are MY people “. Like, where the hell did that come from? There’s been basically no development to make Boba feel so attached to the town that he’d want to die defending it. Man this show was just not well written.

"These are my people." No Boba. They aren't. The show has established the Sand People were your people and has not established you having attachment to the town or the people in it in any way. The thing that really gets me was when this show first came out, people were defending the way Boba Fett’s character was by saying, “He’s an actual character now, instead of a random guy in a suit like in the OT.” Then by the time the finale came around, those same people were saying, “Well, Boba Fett’s not interesting enough to carry an entire show by himself” to excuse how mediocre and scatterbrained to entire plot was.

Honestly, this whole thing could’ve been side-stepped if they would’ve had him slimier when he was first captured by the Tuskan raiders. Maybe his soft spot for kids would’ve begun them liking him, then them taking him in, then him learning about community and becoming a better person. But what a fumbled opportunity to introduce Machete to the Star Wars universe and do absolutely nothing with him. A solid ass episode would’ve consisted of him and Boba doing some riding/training, testing it out on some new blood, etc. Those power ranger kids too.. yeesh.

It should also be mentioned, if it hasn't been already: at 61 years old, Temuera Morrison is too old to play Boba Fett. According to the canon timeline, Boba is only about 10 years older than Luke Skywalker. This story is suppose to be set about 5 years after the fall of the Empire. Book of Fett is a perfect reflection of Disney's stuff: good moments and nothing more. It's lazy and disjointed. Cad Bane showed up just to get killed, the Mando episodes should be in Mandolorian season 3, and the Tuskan flashbacks distracted from the main story (and even if it was cool, they already did it in Mando AND it should've been more in the background). Disney has no discipline to save good stuff for when it's appropriate or to properly flesh out ideas before barfing them all over a fan film script. The Sequels were the exact same way, it wanted to tackle too many themes and they were either underdeveloped, contradicted, or presented along side too many other ideas to stand out. Shameful

Add in "you need to see all this other content to know the characters". If I watched Mando only, I couldn't care less for Ahsoka Tano. Ditto for Bane. Bane's basically a throwaway muscle villain in the 2 EPs he barely shows up in. I'm not even sure if understanding the context works any better. Bane being in his late 60s and still bounty hunting and having nothing out of life could've been a great theme to underscore with contrast to Boba, instead of a throwaway line in their fight. Also, Bane has had his younger ass kicked by Fennec in Bad Batch, so I don't even know why he is here. He's been beaten multiple times already, just let him die. There's no shortage of bounty hunters.

Imagine how good the show could've been if they'd taken a Vince Gilligan approach and basically made Boba fett into breaking bad in space! Boba Fett - down on his luck surviving the sarlac pit and has to work himself back to the top, while the Empire that he knew is crumbling all around him and grim stuff happens and he can't trust anyone. Instead we get this dumb disney crap where everyone that tries to kill him turns into his friends for some reason, it's so incredibly dumb.

Here's at least two of the many MANY problems of Disney Star Wars. It has to play safe, cause they FUCKED with the Sequels. And it has to be family friendly, cause its on Disney+. You can do family friendly Star Wars, just not a character like Boba Fett. Nor can you play it safe with him. A character that amoral needs an amoral show.

We needed Boba to be like Clint Eastwood in "Unforgiven;" a man who we know has done terrible things, is still capable of doing terrible things, but is trying to become a better man. The show started off fine with the first two episodes....but then went off track. We needed to see more of Boba coming to terms with who he was. When he went into the Sarlacc Pit he was a ruthless bounty hunter, now all of a sudden he wants to be the benevolent overlord of Mos Espa...why? The show just turned into an "expanded universe" vehicle for them to generate hype of different projects that they are working on instead of focusing on the show itself.

By far the worst, *worst* plot hole in the entire show is the timeline, more specifically “How long was Boba in the Sarlacc?”. The show made it seem like he fell into the pit and escaped not long after, I mean, he would’ve had to because there’s no (safe) food or water or, apparently, oxygen in a Sarlacc. But then how long was he with the Tuskens? Again, the show made it seem like he was with them for maybe a few months, a year max, before they got killed and he went out to find Slave 1 and his armor. The problem here is, The Mandalorian takes place *5 YEARS AFTER RETURN OF THE JEDI* . So where on Earth did 5 years worth of time go? Their explanation doesn’t make chronological sense.

This time when he said, “go away now”, I felt it in my kidneys. What makes it so much worse is that there could have been a good story here. When Boba Fett was sitting by the campfire telling Agent May that he is tired of working for idiots who are going to get him killed, I believed him. Tell that story. I even believe that as a crime lord he would not want to hurt civilians for no reason. He was a PAID killer, not a psychopath who enjoyed cruelty for its own sake. But he 100% shouldn’t have been a weak-willed, passive sissy who allowed his rivals and his underlings to disrespect him at every turn. When the crime families asked why they shouldn’t just gang up against him with the Pykes, he should have fed one of them to the rancor. His underlings should have been AFRAID to contradict him. That would allow him to show maturity and wisdom by convincing them to speak up so he could draw on their knowledge and make informed, strategic decisions. In other words, be a leader. That would be better than everyone constantly back talking him like obnoxious teenagers giving moronic ideas while he just hangs his head and goes along with whatever. Pathetic. It COULD have been great in the right hands. 😡

The state of Robert Rodruigez is actually rather tragic, as he wasn't just a Creative and High-Energy Filmmaker, but he was easily one of the MOST Creative and High-Energy Filmmakers for like 18-20 years, to the point that one could almost assume he suffered from some kind of Filmmaker mania! Then suddenly... it just stopped. His film count went down to a crawl, he stopped performing certain functions that he would always do himself, like Editing and Musical Score, and NONE of his movies now have the hours of fun bonus content that he would Host -- I sometimes bought movies of his I didn't even care for just because of his Commentary tracks and his 10 Minute Film School extras. Now, it's like he's just some guy who shows up to work to get the job done - that's it. Yeah, Alita was a good flick, but it actually didn't feel like one of his movies at all, and honestly I think a lot of why it worked was because he thought that making the movie would be an interesting endeavor, and even then, Alita still had a lot of 'Point-And-Shoot' moments in it. Seriously, it's like he became disillusioned with the craft, and while most Hollywood burnout stories are entertaining, this one just makes me depressed.

The plot was meandering and rudderless, feeling both predictable and scattergun at the same time. It also seemed inevitable that the protagonists would succeed regardless of what they came up against, which really removes all stakes and sense of suspense. After finishing the finale Wednesday, it struck me as so mishandled that I concocted an entire series plot just to sort out how it could/SHOULD have been done. I kept some of the parts since they work in their own right, but re-framed them to address overall pacing. So here you go Drinker and his fans, let me know if you agree. First lets eliminate a few useless things, no flashbacks and no Mandalorian season 3 episodes. Second, lets organize it into three acts with three episodes in each act. This works well and allows for the following basic structure. Act 1 - The Return of Bob Fett Ep1 - The Sarlac - Where he escapes the Sarlac, is captured by the Tuskans and subsequently earns their respect saving the kid. Not much changes here. This works for the opening. Ep2 - The Tribe - Where he beats up the bikers, takes the speeders, and they stop the train, anger the Pikes, and he is inducted into the tribe. Ep3 - The Ship - Where he saves Fennec, gets his ship, and reveals a secret tracker for his armor so he can go get it from Mando. OF Course he has a secret tracker for his armor secreted in the ship. It is all he has left of his father and it has infinite value to him. This also explains how he found Mando with the armor since that plot hole needed to be filled. Note: We reuse all the Tuskan stuff to show how he spent those 5 years but not as flashbacks, just tell the damn story cleanly and indicate the time passing FFS. Also, the Pikes are smuggling WATER. Tattoine is a DESERT planet so water should be the most valuable thing there. This also allows us to tell the story of why the Tuskans hate off worlders who have been taking the water for so long that the planet is a fucking desert at this point. We also get to name them the Sarlac Tribe since they control the area around the Sarlac. This leaves tons of room for other cool stuff. End this Act with Boba taking the palace with the aid of the Tuskans and shooting Bib Fortuna. The Tuskans are NOT killed by the Pikes so we can use them later. Desert power, damn it! Act 2 - The Rise of Boba Fett Ep4 - Mos Pelgo - Where Cob Vanth has a problem with speed bikers harassing town, hears of Bib's murder and seeks out Boba for help, Boba puts his armor on and blows the shit out of some bikers with his ship, and we see Jawas scavenging their speeder bike parts. Cob allies himself with Boba, Mos Pelgo is now under his control. The Krayte Tribe of Tuskans near Mos Pelgo also join his side. Ep5 - Mos Eisley - Where we find the Twins have been hiding since the fall of Jabba and Nau Hutta which is now controlled by Crimson Dawn. Here the Twins and Water Mongers have control since they are selling the water off world. They hear of Boba killing the biker gang as we see the mods getting cool speed bike parts from some Jawas. This inspires them to hire Krysanten to assassinate Boba. That plays out the same except Tuskans replace the go go vespa rangers. He puts his armor on, goes to Mos Eisley, shoots the shit out of some corrupt water mongers, captures the lead water monger, and subsequently spares the Twins, who swear allegiance to him out of fear. Boba puts the lead water monger in Carbonite as a warning to others. Since he earned their respect the Twins send him the Rancor and leave Krysanten with him. He hires Krysanten rather than just let him go. Mos Eisley is now under his control. Ep6 - Mos Espa - Where we find the Pikes, Trandoshans, Water Mongers, and Garsa Fwip call the shots. The Water Mongers work with the Pikes to steal and smuggle water. The Trandoshans provide security forces and Garsa provides information and 'entertainment'. The lot of them convene to assess things since Mos Eisley and Mos Pelgo have fallen to Fett. Garsa offers to seek parlay with Boba but the others disagree. The meeting ends with a rift there. Garsa secretly seeks parlay with Boba, by sending the speeder bike mod gang to speak with him. The mod gang has real speeder bikes that look awesome made from the parts we saw earlier. Garsa uses the gang to communicate and keep tabs on everything. Boba agrees to parlay at the Sanctuary knowing full well it is a trap. They go in, he wears his armor, Garsa is betrayed by the others, Boba and crew shoot their way out and survive with Garsa's help and the mod gang. They capture the Trandoshan leader in the process. Boba puts his ass in Carbonite as an example for the others. Mos Espa is on high alert. Act 3 - The Word of Boba Fett Ep7 - The Palace - Where we take a break from things and spend some time at the palace to see how it is maintained by the droids, Tuskans, and Rancor master. This episode mostly follows Rancor Master Trejo who mostly runs the palace for Boba. We see Boba training to ride the Rancor some, Fennec and Krysanten organizing the defenses with the Tuskans, the Droids doing the cooking and such, the Tuskans help hunt for food for the Rancor, some of them 'adopt' the Rancor to become the 'Rancor Tribe', Trejo strikes up a friendship with Garsa while visiting the Sanctuary, and they all discuss Boba's honor as a leader and his rep as a killer. The relative peace comes to an end when Garsa is brutally murdered by the Pikes in front of Trejo who escapes back to the palace on speeder bike. The Pikes are sending a message. Ep8 - The Starport - Where we see the Pikes landing and offloading stuff at the star port in Mos Espa. Now that Garsa is dead the mods send word back to Boba apprising him of the situation. Boba leaves Fennec in charge to go call in a favor off world. Fennec plans out how to cripple the star port and destroy the incoming armor and munitions. Boba returns but gives no details of his trip. We also see other crime factions in this buildup including members of Crimson Dawn, some combat droids, and more Trandoshan muscle. The star port looks heavily guarded. Boba dons his armor, they execute Fennec's plan, blow the shit out of the star port, burn a perimeter around it, and leave it in ruins. Everyone returns to the palace. The stage is now set for the final confrontation. Ep9 - The Fall - Where we see the remaining crime lords of Mos Espa around a table planning their revenge on Boba. They have hired all the muscle they can, and speak of heavy war machines they got from Crimson Dawn. Plan an assault on Boba's Palace with what appears to be overwhelming force. We see Boba and Fennec discussing what to do with the whole crew. Everyone wants to sack the city now, but Boba wants to wait and prepare his forces for attack. He holds firm but allows Fennec and Krysanten to organize Tuskan raiders for battle. He orders them to prepare for battle just outside the city so as to limit further damage to it. Fennec balks at this but relents. Some time passes while The Pikes, Trandoshans, and Water mongers amass their forces. Boba contacts the Pikes offering them a chance to surrender but they do not. Fearing for time they order their troops to move. Cut to Boba who gets a message by beeper. He dons his helmet and orders Fennec to 'begin'. Cut to the outer wall of the city, where the Pike's troops are moving out of the city walls. As they leave we pan out to see two huge groups of Tuskan raiders on each flank of the Pikes. Boba flies Slave-1 overhead and bombs the leading armored vehicle. This is the signal. All hell breaks loose as the Tuskans converge. We cut to a small group of Trandoshans who break away from the Pikes, and see that one of them is Bosk who tipped Boba off to attack. The Pikes suffer heavy losses until they roll out the Annhilator Droids. The droids push the Tuskans back into the desert, and things look bad until they cross over some mines which take out the droid shields. Then Boba comes riding on on the Rancor and tears the droids apart. As they win the day, Boba locates the leader of the Pikes, captures him and takes him to the top of the city gates using his jet pack and grappling line. He then disintegrates the Pike leader in front of all to see, turns to the masses and say, 'I am Boba Fett, and my Word is Law!' Cut to credits. Mid-credits we see a small group of very well prepared rouges murder their way into Boba's Palace. Inside they are taking the carbonite trophies off the wall and moving them out. As they move out we see Qira remove her mask to survey the palace as they steal the trophies. End of season 1. Important production note: Boba talks first to see if there is a potential solution and when that fails he dons his armor and people die. This is the main theme of his character. First peace, then force and always in that order. This instills fear but also promotes respect. It also lets the audience know that when he puts the helmet on, shit is gonna get real. This works beautifully for his character and allows him to develop in both ways. It also allows him to be cunning and a bad ass for the story. There you go. I'm no writer and put that together in less than a day. So Disney has ZERO excuse for shitting the bed on this one. Let me know what you think if you got here. Thanks for indulging me.

I haven't actually watched the show to be honest, but this sounded pretty kickass, hats off to you, friend. It makes me wonder how to possibly involve Cad Bane in this, maybe have him as a minor character for now, possibly to hint at his rivalry with Fett but make it more nuanced? Make it so they don't just want to kill each other, they are rivals in that both of them are the best at their own style of crime and they do work to stay the best. Could be that he is the one Boba convinced to help during the attack instead of Bossk. Maybe there could be a scene during the Palace episode briefly showing Cad Bane coming or going from the palace, either dropping off a bounty or actually being given a contract by Boba for something they need. It could work for multiple reasons. It could show that they are willing to work together but the conversation is still tense, though not hostile. Professional but not friendly. Have a little moment where they go "Fett?" "Bane?" at each other to show recognition and respect but also suspicion and weariness. The other reason it could play into Fett's character arc of settling down and turning from wandering gun to crime lord. It could be shown how weird he feels hiring someone to do work for him to give the impression he's capable but leading gangs and managing mercenaries instead of doing the work himself is still new to him.

It's the inverse of Jake Skywalker, where he became a bitter bastard for no reason. Boba Fett's story here is even more tragic and could have worked, but somehow seeing a whole new family brutally slaughtered made him a wuss instead of sent him on a brutal rampage? The ingredients were right there. This could have been a fun, Riddick-esque romp where he ends up in command just because he's slaughtered everyone else in the chain, but that means he would have to make decisions and be cool. Plus having the moral ambiguity of whether he's going to be a good leader at the end isn't allowed in Disney Star Wars

You kind of summed up my feelings on the whole show in just the first minute, a short storyline stretched into 7 episodes, I didn't even care that they had downgraded him a bit to be more of an 'older but still got it' kind of character, heck even at the end I thought "Well this is just the first wave the guild will likely keep coming back until they eventually have an epic showdown" But then Fennec killed all of that hope, quite literally, if they do make a second season I'd want more Boba Fett, fewer side plots for unrelated characters, and if you are going to old man direction, focus more on his organization and how he runs/impacts Tatooine, that's honestly all I wanted. Honestly, this kind of just put my faith in Disney's Star Wars right back where it was 3 years ago with Rise of Skywalker, I just want to be able to enjoy the stuff that comes out from Star Wars, my only hope rn is Kenobi and maybe Rogue Squadron, other than that I got not much more to hope for.

The whole setting seems so forced. Boba Fett, the most dangerous bounty hunter of the galaxy, decides to settle down and become mayor of a town on a shitty desert planet in the outer rim, and is willing to fight to the death over this town, which, as far as we know, he has no connection to whatsoever. He talks about protecting its people all the time, when he knows none of them and they don't know him besides him turning up and deciding to rule them. I loved Bobas story with the Tuskens, seemed like a fitting thing to do after almost dying at the hands of the Sarlacc and so on, but the arc in the present is just beyond forced. Boba Fett is a man who was raised to be an unscrupulous killer who only looks out for himself. He and his father before him have only ever known war and death. He has made his living on war and death. And now, he just decides to settle down and become mayor of a random town, which he at the same time cares enough about to fight a small war over? This might have been a decent story for someone else but it spits in the face of everything Boba Fett was. The only times I thouroughly enjoyed the show was when he was going crazy swinging his gaderffii, grimacing like a maniac. THAT is what this show should have been because that is what Boba Fett always was. They could even have done a bit about him killing all the time and being a psychopath while slowly coming to see that something else was possible, similar to what they did with Mando at certain points. There were even elements of that with the Tuskens, it was just never explored further. But they just did a complete 180 on the character without any explanation.
@MrWizards19742 жыл бұрын

Boba Fett was always a phenomenon to me. A guy with maybe ten minutes of screen time across two movies has this huge popularity. Because you knew nothing about him, you could have done anything...and they do this crap. HP Lovecraft created the Necronimicon, an imaginary tome that is still used today in horror movies. Once asked why he didn't write the actual book he said-paraphrasing-he'd built it up to the point how could he deliver? Best left to everyone's imagination. Back in the early days of Wolverine what made him so cool was you knew nothing about him, and he didn't either. Then they decided to release Origin and Stan Lee was against it, saying its best to leave something to the imagination. Wolverine became the most over saturated, over powered, no continuity whatsoever (at this point they may be saying he helped Washington defeat the British) and totally ruined him. 6,000 comments. Damn! This one will go unread. My two cents: It's my fault that my interpretation of the title meant that we would be looking back at Boba Fett's life, from when his father died to the time of the Sarlac. Fett could have been portrayed as that edgy character I think we all were hoping for. With clever writing it could have been unclear if Fett's story ends at the Sarlac. This ambiguity could have continued into a second season. I don't know why Disney felt the need to create this warm and fuzzy Fett. He should have been a jaded, cold, edgy character but also with redeeming qualities when presented with certain moral challenges. Bounty hunters are not intrinsically bad or evil but it takes a certain type to do the job. That could have been explored in this show. So many missed opportunities. Disney in a nutshell these days.

Read 'tales of the bountyhunter' and you'll get your fix there. And know what people once thought Boba Fett was a cool charactered I'd like your framing of Boba Fett being in the sarlaac pit and we/it watch his memories. Then the big finale is after a whole season on Boba Fett being lifeless, he snaps to attention in the sarlaac pit and you cut to the music sting. They could have done so much with this show. How cool would it have been to see Boba Fett emerge from the Sarlaac and then go on this quest to regain his status as galaxy's best bounty hunter or something. Each week, he could have squared off against another bounty hunter and been forced to use his skills in different ways. If they wanted a grand finale, have Cad Bane sort of undermining him each step of the way. Or, if they were hell-bent on this whole "Fett decides to become a benevolent ruler of this random backwater on Tatooine, then they could have introduced Cad Bane in episode 1 and made him the series antagonist. Use flashbacks to show their decades-long relationship. But nah. Of course, if rumors are true, Kathleen Kennedy and the Lucasfilm Storygroup demanded rewrites and inserted themselves into the whole process. Why? Because they were blindsided by Luke Skywalker at the end of Mando season 2. And they needed to undo that. They needed to make sure Luke ends up a loser. That's why we got two full episodes of not Boba Fett. That's why Luke decided to give up training Baby Yoda. Because they need Luke to end up the failure that he became in the sequels. That and they can't have Grogu be a Jedi who dies a horrible death off-screen by an angsty Kylo Ren (who is himself defeated by a Mary Sue with zero training...)

they could have seriously spent the entire season just focused on the character development between leaving the sarlaac and finding the tuskens wiped out. at least there there was a story worth being told, and serious character development that gets so glossed over in this show that it makes it feel like boba fett flipped like a switch between his mercenary past and his more caring present. there was FIVE YEARS of time that passed between leaving the sarlaac and getting his ship and armor back. i don't care about his facing off against the pykes because it's just so simple and has no room for anything interesting other than maybe some good action scenes, which this show failed to have to begin with. i want to know how boba fett left the sarlaac, and i want to know the story of him having a change in world view over the course of years living amongst a tribe of tuskens. that sounds interesting to me and on it's own gives enough justification for both action and character development, with there being a clash with his older way of living, and with the tuskens being violently against the frequent interlopers on tatooine.

Unable to find safety in the shadow of Darth Vader and unsure of where he may find work with his main employers gone. His armor is still taken by the Jawas, but tracking it down becomes a main mission in the show. Boba is more vulnerable and so the stakes are higher and the action sequences are much more intense. Maybe he assumes another identity or there are those who doubt he is the fierce, ruthless bounty hunter he claims to be. Perhaps he realizes that the Empire wasn't what he thought it was and he decides to start hunting bad guys rather than good guys like Han Solo. This would be what leads him back to Jabba's palace, but instead of aimlessly killing the head of the palace, he takes him in for a bounty and doesn't have any desire to rule over as Deimio. He could still have a showdown with Cad Bane, perhaps even to fetch a bounty that's on Cad. This leaves so many options on the table for a second season and it gives Mando season 3 the two episodes it fucking deserves.

Get the wookie some powerful weapons, like a bowcaster. Find out what his skills are and use them. I cannot add further, as I have not watched this stupid show. But others can certainly see more use for him. Get spies and informants from around the area, get them to give you a picture of the movements and activities of your enemy. Understand your enemy, and if you cannot turn them into allies, or have them be neutral to you, then you go and crush them. And make sure EVERYONE sees and knows, to inspire them to work with you, not against you. A benevolent dictator is a philosopher General. Edited to correct some weird mistakes that did not communicate my thoughts properly.

Lol I had totally forgotten about the Rancor until the battle stopped midway and I heard the footsteps - my eyes literally rolled and I had to laugh at the scene. If I was 12 I could enjoy it but as an adult it was a bit silly .

That final episode made the final episode of Game of Thrones look like a masterpiece.

Well. There was something interesting about Boba's interaction with the Tusken. Only problem, it was stretched too long. The last stand by Boba and Mando in the final episode (before Freetown reinforcements arrived) actually stood out as a competent action sequence. That neither Boba nor Mando used their ships in the final battle was baffling indeed. Basically the show had some oomph for its first 4 episodes, then it became Mando season 2,5 for 2 episodes but the finale itself was godawful. For the briefest moment I actually thought they would have the balls to kill Boba off, after his blaze of glory moment riding a rancor, leaving Fennec to pick up the pieces. But screw changing the status quo. Let's rather cemment it in place, even going as far as basically undoing Mando S2 finale by reuniting Grogu with him. Literally nothing lost, nothing gained. Even the decision to portray Boba as this sort of just and honorable hero. He was an antagonist in the original trilogy, I can see him having a change of heart, maybe living with the Tusken would be a catalyst that made that happen but show doesn't even try to give him something even resembling a character arc. "I've been nearly eaten by the Saarlacc, so I should be a good boy now" - give me a break.

The show had an interesting premise, but they didn't have the skill or balls to pull it off properly. Boba being "rescued" by Tuskins then leaving and "retiring" to become a tactical and bad-ass crime boss akin to Maul in TCW or something like Talon Karrde in Heir to the Empire could and should have been really good, but they fucked it up in almost every way possible.
@shadow-squid48722 жыл бұрын
Boba didn’t immediately want to start being good after the sarlacc, it was through the years he had spent with the Tuskens and the time ti reflect on how he was left for dead by people who didn’t give a shit about him that changed his view on things

Exactly how I feel. Even the gunfight at the Ok corral scene, for as well as they set it up was ruined bc I was like, well sheriff will get shot but we’ll find out in another episode that he’s still alive. And then shocker…. When you know that everyone that is important either won’t die or they’ll make you think they were killed and then bring them back, then there is no risk to the characters and thus no suspense to the story.

Honestly, Mando 2.5 turned out to be the best part of these episodes...except for Grogu showing up, really...almost every other segment was too long, like the tuskens or the Sarlacc Pit scene or the go-nowhere finale combat scene....and then they spent no time on Boba and Cad Bane, or the Freetown fight (them coming in to save the day was broadcast before the finale even started, imo, and that's not really a good thing)

@@iceman90734 Still I hated that Luke episode. We got more of the ST Luke that doesn't really know better to try and fix the Old Jedi Order mistakes that leads to its downfall, he gladly repeats them.

So I had three main issues with the finale. 1. Luke had the child in his care, sure he let him make the choice. However, just being like “bye Felicia.” Sending him off by himself (sure R2, but the child wasn’t given to R2 it was given to Luke) I think Luke knows family is important and to not see him back to his family bugged me. 2. Cad Bane needed a better send off. It was like boba killed him. Cool next scene, I mean give a nod 30 seconds longer on the duel anything more than just a kill scene and cut away. 3. We are pretty much at square one the stakes of Mando season 1-2 are pretty much useless cause Mando and the child are back together after literally 2 episodes apart. The emotional punches that the season 2 finale and last weeks episode. It was pretty much meaningless being that they didn’t have a chance to grow outside of each other. They needed some time away to grow each other like bring them together for the finale of Mando season 3. Not in a side quest to your main story. Also the casual viewer who may just watch Mando and not BOBF isn’t gonna know what happened. It’s almost like the last Jedi of the TV shows

Literally everything you said is exactly how I feel. They managed to kill all meaning and emotional weight of Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2, in a single episode of A DIFFERENT SHOW!! The only positive is that I don't think Cad Bane is actually dead.

The show really could’ve been great The worst part were the out of place British “cyberpunk” teens that couldn’t be bothered to change their accent since they were supposedly born on tattoine but ok
@Longshanks16902 жыл бұрын
See, they could ALMOST work. Like everyone was saying, they could see them on Coruscant or something but not Tatooine, so incorporate that element. Say that because of the New Republic clamping down on the core worlds, they had to flee to the Outer Rim to find work, and they only arrived recently which is why they’re so fresh, clean and urban in this environment. You could do something with that! But those tucking mopeds were dead on arrival, absolutely no way they could EVER work.
