The book of Revelation is one of the most misinterpreted books in the Bible.
Dr. Chip Bennett and Dr. Warren Gage will teach you how to read Revelation and other books as intended by the biblical authors.
This is part 1 of a multipart series.
Do you have trouble understanding the old testament? Maybe it's possible that you are overlooking the way the Biblical authors wrote. By understanding literary genres and themes we can see the bible in the fullness of divine authorship.

Growing up in the church I have heard many pastors use the book of Revelation as a tool of fear. I guess because my name is Joshua I really dug into the book of Joshua & I love it, also my middle name is Paul so all the epistles he wrote became fascinating. These are probably the reasons I am a missionary now. I look forward to a proper exegesis of the Word. The whole story of the entire Bible is so much more beautiful than most teach. Too many pastor cherry pick a verse and just try to prove an opinion.

You guys are awesome Revelation is the bookend to Daniel ..Fulfilled 1st century. If Johns "at hand," "shortly to be done" and "Behold I come quickly" statements in Revelation were a "prophetic foreshortening" of two thousand years or more' John should have been instructed to " seal up the book " (Rev.22:10) even as the sayings of Daniel were sealed "til the time of the end " (Dan 12:9). John was told to leave the book unsealed because at the time of his revelation of Jesus Christ and all the associated end-time events were ready to come upon that generation as Jesus predicted (Mt.24:34) as confirmed by Paul (1 Cor.10:11). John was permitted to live to reveal it,and see it (John 21:22-24).

As a fully integrated narrative of epic literature, the 66 books of the Bible is a "chiasm" that begins in the cosmos with Genesis 1_1 and ends in the cosmos with Revelation. In between, the entire dramatic weight of the narrative falls on John 11:35 "Jesus wept" before expanding out again into the horizons of history and the destiny of humanity. Revelation clearly originates in the literature of the Hebrew Bible, but it is describing the agitation of the spiritual realm from the time of Jesus's death and the social agitation set into motion by the release of Barabbas leading up to the destruction of the Temple and dispersion of the children of Moses by Rome. Hebrews is the finding of the Roman inquiry of Resurrection begun by Pilate's initial intelligence report to Tiberius which introduced the Roman social designation "Christian" to Rome, and informed by the 4 Gospels, Acts and the 13 epistles of Paul. Hebrews is the 19th book of the New Testament that fulfills the Law of Moses in the same manner the 19th blessing of the Amidah fulfills the Standing Prayer of Judea. Mark 15 is bound by the Holy Spirit to Genesis 15 in the divine doubling of a covenant cutting ceremony, the first between God and Abram, the second between God and the Roman centuriate. Paul is the 4th Magi with the gift of Romans 13:1 - 7 that defines a well regulated militia of the constitutional servant leader. The 2nd Amendment represents the boundaries of the secular Arc of the Covenant between the Bill of Rights of the US Constitution and the Uniform Code of Military Justice at the leading edge of America's principles of just war doctrine. The destruction of the Temple completed Jesus' abrogation of the Law of Moses , the 10 Commandments and all things kosher with His re-formulation of the Shema with the two commandments of Mark 12: 29 - 31, which includes the Free Will/Atheist clause of "Love your neighbor as yourself" as a secular/divine ethic. Calvin's TULIP doctrine is a retrogression of Christianity back under the old wine skin of the Law of Moses and is the false doctrine of the Judaizers Paul warns about in Galatians. TULIP is the basis of the Pro-Life heresy of Evangelical solo scriptura doctrine which is anchored squarely on the Total Depravity of Eve which requires the rejection of Mary, Mother of Jesus, Co-Redemptrix,, the ultimate blasphemy that denies the Holy Spirit as the only unforgivable sin.

The name “Jesus” is not Greek. It is a transliteration from the Greek.
