@@codyparker6861 Hey, forgive me for jumping in here; I hope you dont mind. The Old Testament had animal sacrifices and regular offerings to deal with their sin. Remember, the penalty for sin is death, and in Leviticus, we learn that life is in the blood; this is why death and blood play a crucial role in Old Testament Judaism. Today, those sacrifices and regular offerings are no longer needed since we have the blood and sacrifice of Jesus Christ the Lord. I hope this helps a little bit or opens up a line of thought for you to consider moving forward. Great question!

@@Marabarra94Christians is not a cult. Cults aren’t capable of explaining the Creation, the world and humanity like God and Jesus did. Christians are followers of Christ, spiritually connected to Jesus Christ. Research the amount of time and documentation of putting together the Bible and the fact it was perfectly made. It was God breathed to those who wrote it. Scriptures verifies scripture plus it’s all about creation up to the end. The prophesies fulfilled 100% by Jesus. There is so much documentation to prove, define God’s Divine existence with the whole Bible pointing to Jesus, the Savior of the world, which was prophesied and 100% fulfilled right down to the very details. Satan can still convince humans there is no God or devil. That’s called deception. Man has definitely lived up to that deception because God told us this would happen. God is omnipotent and omnipresent.

What I would have added to this, besides where the conversation ended up, was what I took as the BAM statement from Lee's book. Many will die for what they believe to be true. No one will give their life for what they know to be a lie. Yet the apostles went to their deaths for refusing to deny our Lord's life, death, burial and resurrection. On day, every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord.

'No one will give their life for what they know to be a lie.' - assume you're familiar with suicide bombers and kamikaze pilots? The apostles need not have knowingly lied or been deceptive, any number of scenarios in which they genuinely believe are plausible. As for most of the apostles being martyred for their beliefs, I encourage you to actually read up on that, and you will find that there is evidence for perhaps two apostles having been martyred. The rest are either narratives from church tradition, or narratives that originate from apocryphal gospels and not considered historically accurate.

Another thing overlooked here is the Roman guard placed there, were not 2 guys like what is commonly depicted today. I think there could have been upwards of 16 well trained Roman soldiers guarding that tomb, of which faced a very terrible way to die if they failed at their post! A few untrained apostles that couldn't even swing a sword definitely would not have been able to sneak past, open the humongous stone that is designed to be easy to close, hard to open and steal Jesus's body from the tomb!

@@oblitorix21 You 'dunno' if 16 is accurate? No, 16 is not even remotely within the realm of accuracy. Also, what do you mean by 'Jesus was a high value target'? For the Pharisees yes, for the Roman's not at all - it doesn't even remotely follow that that they would have identified a need to guard the tomb beyond what the Pharisees asked. One or two, as the Gospels state, is a reasonable assumption. You're basing your assertion about 'heads rolling' off of nothing. We don't know if any guards abandoned their posts outside of what ONLY Matthew tells us. Anything beyond that is just baseless conjecture.

Roman crucifixion is designed to keep you on the tree, pole, cross and alive for as long as possible. After the crows eat you alive, your corpse is thrown in the city dump to burn with the trash. A traitor would never be killed that day, or given a tomb with 16 guards. The entire story is made up BS added much later to Luke and Matthew to correct the original tale in Mark which has no birth or resurrection narrative.

Here is something.. I realised the bible to me seemed ligit after wanting to disprove it. So Jesus being who He said He is, can hear you right now. In fact knows your every thought and being but let's set that aside. I went straight to the source and Jesus Himself confirmed everything to me.. I had no understanding really but I gave my life to Him saying if the bible is real and He really died for me my life is His. Lot's of things happened and I asked a youth pastor whom I played soccor with why he was so passionate as I could not understand it. He asked me what do you believe? I was like confronted as it made so much more sense than what I had believed but it wasnt "real" to me yet as I had no "experience" of Jesus but I said I believe I guess as it makes sense but it's not real to me yet at the same time. SO I believed in my heart and confessed before men without me realising. long story short, Holy Spirit entered in me POWERFULLY that night and next night I ended up face to face with Jesus (couldn't make out His face as it was like radiant like the sun, didn't hurt my eyes tho) and I just knew everything on the spot in that place, no doubts. God is so good and so patient, how He put's up with me is beyond me but He does.. Search for the truth and you will find Jesus.. Yeshua, who died for us on a cross to break the curse of sin that is on us. ONLY through Him can you come to the Father.. it is true

jesus was not who he was claiming to be: "the messiah". Why? For he had failed to fulfil the 'prophecy', which said that the true 'messiah' will unify the jews and take them BACK to the 'promised land". In case you haven't, and it is clear you haven't, read the 'bible', since the jews were already in the 'promised land', what sort of "messiah" was jesus hallucinating to be????? The jews saw through his delusions and hallucinations and chose the appropriate method of dealing with the unbalanced, self-appointed 'prophet'. He also claimed that 'yahwe'/'jahwe' was not HIS 'god', yet the actual inventor of 'christianity' Saul/Paul in his letters to corinthians states clearly that the jews (later re-named into 'christians' by Romans) follow only one of various 'gods' roaming around. 'yahwe'/'jahwe'. So, who is lying between the pair? Both. There is no 'god' in the 'bible'. Only an owner of that one tribe of the jews. They were slaves of some vile and brutal slave owner that called himself 'yahwe'/'jahwe'. That's pretty much all there is to it.

The New Testament writers quote the Old Testament! If Paul didn't write Timothy! Then, who was the inspired writer. (if) the Gospels were written before 70 AD or after. 1 Timothy 5:18 For the scripture says: Paul supports what he said in the preceding verse by using two quotations. (Compare Ro 9:17) The first is taken from De 25:4. The second may be an allusion to Le 19:13. However, it is also possible that Paul is here referring to a text in one of the Gospels. His wording is almost identical to what Jesus said as recorded at Lu 10:7. (Paul’s quote is also similar to the wording found at Mt 10:10) Therefore, this may be an early example of a Bible writer’s quoting from a Gospel, confirming that it is inspired Scripture.

The Canon Ezra 7:6 This Ezʹra came up from Babylon. He was a copyist* who was well-versed in* the Law of Moses, which Jehovah the God of Israel had given. The king granted everything he requested, for the hand of Jehovah his God was upon him. The expression “Bible canon” came to denote the collection, or list, of books accepted as genuine inspired Scripture. The term “canon” is derived from the Hebrew word qa·nehʹ (reed). Reeds were used as a rule or measuring device. (Eze 41:8) Fittingly, the Bible canon, or catalog of inspired books, enables the reader to “measure” faith, doctrine, and conduct. The canon of the Hebrew Scriptures was established by the end of the fifth century B.C.E. According to Jewish tradition, the skilled scribe and inspired Bible writer Ezra began the work, and it was completed by Nehemiah. (Ezr 7:6, ftn.) The writing of the Christian Greek Scriptures was completed during the time that the gifts of the spirit were operative on Christ’s followers. (Joh 14:26; Re 1:1) Some Christians had the gift of “discernment of inspired expressions.” (1Co 12:10) Thus, they could, without referring the matter to a supposed church council, determine which of the letters the congregation received were inspired of God. With the death of John, the last apostle, this reliable chain of divinely inspired men came to an end. Therefore, with the book of Revelation, John’s Gospel, and his three letters, the Bible canon was closed. The testimony of later, noninspired writers is valuable only as an acknowledgment of the Bible canon, which God’s spirit had guided and authorized.

(If) The Gospels was written after Jerusalem was destroyed. The Apostles were writing letters to the congregations before the Gospels was written. Because after the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD. The Jewish practice of animal sacrifices ended when the Romans destroyed the temple in Jerusalem. With the temple gone, there is no longer a place for the sacrifices to be offered according to the Mosaic Law. Did they make the Gospels up because they had no temple no more. No they didn't. The Gospels are proof of Jesus the Lamb of YHVH Yehovah Jehovah God! The need for animal sacrifices no longer existed, for Christ had fulfilled the righteous requirements of the Law (Matthew 5:17). Animal sacrifices were merely a type of the perfect Sacrifice-the Lamb of God (YHVH Yehovah Jehovah) who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29). The sacrifice of Christ paid the debt of sin for all mankind, both Jew and Gentile (Romans 1:16; Hebrews 9:12-15). John was an eyewitness to Jesus and the destruction of Jerusalem and he received Revelation for the congregations of Christ! The First of John 1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have observed and our hands have felt, concerning the word of life, 2 (yes, the life was made manifest, and we have seen and are bearing witness and reporting to you the everlasting life that was with the Father and was made manifest to us), 3 that which we have seen and heard we are reporting also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

Like in the Gospel of Mark the short and long conclusion was not originally there. The NWT ends at Mark 16:8 Jesus is the Lamb of The God of Abraham YHVH Yehovah Jehovah Mark 16:8 In the Gospel of Mark. If the women tell no one then, Who is ! What each Gospel story is about. The four living creatures! Matthew Who was! Mark Who is! Luke Who is Coming! John The Lamb of YHVH! The four gospels are associated with the four living creatures: Matthew, the man, Mark the lion, Luke the ox, and John the eagle. John has Jesus dying on a different day. It's the Day of Preparation, not the Day of Preparation for Passover. It was the day they prepared the lambs for sacrifice. While at the same time, Jesus is prepared for sacrifice. Jesus is the Lamb of YHVH Yehovah Jehovah a man, a lion, an ox and an eagle. The man symbolises the prophet; the lion, kingship; the ox, priesthood, and the eagle, fatherhood.

The “Telephone game” is a weak argument. It is the comparison of two cultures that are not the same. The first century Jewish and Greek cultures were not distracted by TV or social media. The accuracy of news depended of information shared from person to person to be factual. When it came to historical information the information handed down from generation to generation was taken very seriously and fabrication was not tolerated. Also, as stated previously these oral traditions cultures had a verification system to prevent errors.

Rogan is very relatable, he has the classic doubts that most people have and the same barriers to belief in Christianity. The beauty is the pursuit of truth and not letting uncomfortable feelings get in the way of truth. Rogan wants the truth and he is properly going about finding truth. I welcome his guarded approach, he is discovering with caution. He will become a believer, it's in God's hands and it is the truth. I think the disciples wrote these books a lot earlier than people realize and I think I can prove it and it’s simple. The reason why they had to write them earlier is bc the temple was still standing and if it wasn’t, then guess what. They would have wrote about it being destroyed and the fact they didn’t is proof it was earlier. Many references in the Bible from the New Testament and even the old talk about many things from the past and let us know the things they are talking about were still the same in their time. Like David’s tomb for example. They say and it’s is still there to this day.

@@Harpadzo No, you missed it entirely. You're claiming that because our calendar is based on the supposed birth of Jesus, this is somehow evidence. I'm pointing out that simply because we base a common concept on a religious figure doesn't make it evidential. Technically it's not even accurate since Jesus was likely born between 6 BCE and 4BCE. 'Also, Rome could have have produced a body, if it was there, and stopped the Christian uprising and probably the fall of Rome. They did not, could not, why?' - because there was no Christian uprising at the time. The Romans could have cared less who Jesus was, this was a tiny religious sect at the time. Why do you think Pilate based his judgement on what the Pharisees asked? This is such a silly argument - how exactly do you think this would have gone down? Who would they have paraded the body for? Who would have recognised the body? By the time Christianity was enough of a nuisance for the Romans to bother worrying about what may or may not have happened to the body, it would have been decades later. And this is presupposing the body was even interned in a tomb.

AFTER the fulfillment of this contract he was the “First born of the dead”, thus the first person to be resurrected to eternal life because if you fulfilled the contract that was the promise. I just wanted to clarify a couple of things. In the first place, I get the idea of a memorization culture, but that is not to say that the people were illiterate. Reading and writing were taught in the synagogues, just like it is today. Among the Jews, everybody knew how to read and write and everybody was expected to memorize. . Just because the oldest "known" manuscripts have been dated to the third, fourth or seventh centuries does not mean that there were no older manuscripts. There were people who made a living, copying manuscripts. For example, let's say that I have an original manuscript of a book on paper, and it is the only book I have, and I carry it with me and I read it all day, until it wears out, so I take it to the copier, and get a new book and use the old book to start the fire in the stove. I am sure if people looked hard enough, they would find older manuscripts in a place like; Oh, let's say, in Qumran, where they have found manuscripts that date back to the time of the apostles, but the people who control information are not letting those manuscripts be released to the public because they destroy their godless narratives. There are other eyewitness accounts of Jesus Resurrection among the dead sea scrolls that will never see the light of day. The second point I would like to make is that it is not our job to prove Jesus. It is Jesus job to prove himself. How did Jesus prove his resurrection to his disciples. He appeared to them, right? If Jesus appeared to his disciples in ancient times, then he can appear to his disciples in these times. I know that that Jesus is the Christ the son of the Living God and my personal savior because Jesus himself proved himself to me. He has given me undeniable proofs. I have seen his face, heard his voice and felt his touch. He is alive and well and he does visit the earth often, and he is proving himself to the true believers in these days. Jesus is the resurrection an the life. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life Amen

Another interesting Atheist turned Christian is James Warner Wallace. He's a retired police detective with the LAPD. He wrote a cold case book that was supposed to be set during Jesus' time on Earth. He debunked the theory that the apostles made it up. He said that the more people are involved, the conspiracy starts to unravel. I heard the same thing in a Documentary about JFK. Also, 10 of the 12 apostles were martyred except for Judas and John. I never met anyone who was willing to die because of a lie. He often quotes them by name and includes their traditions in his writings” (Eusebius, Hist. eccl. 3.39.7; trans. Maier, Eusebius, 127). The connection to Peter is also indirectly made by Justin Martyr (c. AD 150), who refers to Mark 3:16 - 17 ( Jesus’ naming of Simon as “Peter,” and James and John as “Sons of Thunder”) as coming from the memoirs of Peter (Dial. 106). For strong defenses of the authenticity of the Papias tradition. Papias (Greek: Παπίας) was a Greek Apostolic Father, Bishop of Hierapolis (modern Pamukkale, Turkey), and author who lived c. 60 - c.130 AD. He wrote the Exposition of the Sayings of the Lord. And elsewhere "For after all those who believed in Christ had generally come to live in Perea, in a city called Pella of the Decapolis of which it is written in the Gospel that it is situated in the neighbourhood of the region of Batanaea and Basanitis, Ebion's preaching originated here after they had moved to this place and had lived there." (AD 66) - Epiphanius, Panarion 30, 2, 7 "So Aquila, while he was in Jerusalem, also saw the disciples of the disciples of the apostles flourishing in the faith and working great signs, healings, and other miracles. For they were such as had come back from the city of Pella to Jerusalem and were living there and teaching. For when the city was about to be taken and destroyed by the Romans, it was revealed in advance to all the disciples by an angel of God that they should remove from the city, as it was going to be completely destroyed. They sojourned as emigrants in Pella, the city above mentioned in Transjordania. And this city is said to be of the Decapolis." (AD 70.) - Epiphanius, On Weights and Measures 15 Though regarded as a Heretic, his testimony does lend credence to existence of the Gospels he sought to "enhance". Spanish Jesuit José O'Callaghan Martínez argued in the 1960s that one fragment (7Q5) preserves a portion of text from the New Testament Gospel of Mark 6:52-53.[59] This theory was scrutinized in the year 2000 by paleographic analysis of the particular fragment. However, this faced some contention, and O'Callaghan's theory remains an area of great dispute. Later analyses in 2004 and 2018 lent credence to O'Callaghan's original assertion. Findings: Qumran fragment 7Q4.1. It contains a portion of Paul’s first letter to Timothy (1 Timothy 3:16-4:3). (aprox. 34 AD) and if they have copies of Acts written in 60AD - then Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John had to also be written BEFORE THAT - because - Acts or the beginning of the Churches, preached the Gospel. There are over 5,200 Original manuscripts from the 1st century written from EYE witnesses, who walked, talked, ate, and lived with Jesus, while other EYE witnesses of Christs miracles, and life were alive. These EYE witnesses could deny or confirm what the Gospel writers wrote. - thats why it is the MOST historically accurate book ever written, collaboration from hundreds of eye witnesses. - BUY THE WAY, - there was a roman seal on Christ's tomb that warrend EVERYONE break this seal, you die! Aso, 12 Roman Soldiers guarded the tomb. 4 awake on guard, rotating 8 hour shifts. - SO NO ONE "stole" Christs body.

well said brother. i love how Chris is so passionate to share his thoughts on "the whole Christ is God fairytale" and debunk the nonsensical oral tradition/game of telephone/made up story/conspiracy narrative, but going on Rogan, Maher and all these huge platforms without proper knowledge of what actually happened, and the proper timeframe of these events are unfortunately, imo, more damaging than helpful to get the truth out to the world.. i will save your comment to have a new argument for the authenticity of the Gospels in my arsenal to use in the future, if you don't mind.. :)

@@Pauliex33 People debating things from yesterday... A Spiritual mind seeks tomorrow. A new day when the enemy and those who support it are removed. We look for new Kingdoms and earth. Isaiah 65:I7 If you want to know the Truth seek the teachings of Christ. How do we k ow the Bible is True? Matthew 24:25 Because Christ told us before hand. Its bible prophecy which proves its Truth. Not the debate of the history and artifacts. Which are good for those with a carnal mind. I was given these scriptures and question over the last week maybe. Question; Christ tells them He never knew them. Matthew 7:23 How could Christ not know them, If He is their creating Father? Or was Christ lying? I Corinthians I5:20 Christ was the first resurrected from the dead. Father Elohim lives forever and ever. Is the bible lying and Father Elohim was killed by His the devil? @@plainwhitepaper3898 i'm not sure what exactly to take from your reply, i guess the formatting is messing with my head to put everything into correct context - but yes, seeking the Truth = seeking Christ; unfortutnately it's hard to open peoples' minds with the Word of God, if they refuse to listen/read it themselves due to being convinced that man created God, and not the other way round.. secular-friendly, scientifically sound, logical and historical arguments with proper evidence are important to help people make their first step forward on the right path - that's why i like to save comments like these, they really do help :)

@ericmckenna4793 They didn't see him get out of the grave. But they did say that they saw him ascend into the clouds. They did see him after he died. They said they ate with him, talked with him, and cried with him after his death. The empty tomb is a long piece of circumstantial evidence that these events probably did happen. Empirical claims do not need Empirical evidence. Let's say for example You had a blind friend who was completely blind since birth. He went to a prayer service. After hands were laid on him he was completely healed 5 seconds later. Would you need concrete evidence that prayer healed him? No. That should be enough evidence.

Callisthenes would receive the army's daily journal after it was completed. Other contemporaries who wrote about Alexander's life include: Aristobulus: A junior officer who served on Alexander's campaigns Onesicritus: Alexander's chief helmsman Ptolemy: One of Alexander's generals Nearchus: One of Alexander's generals. Oral history was the way tribes told the later generations about battles won, heroes and villains, enemies, medical remedies, hunting strategies, etc. Pictographs, chants and dances captured the details of an historical event to pass on from one generation to the next. Writing was a novel skill acquired by a few to record those oral stories when they were important. Still some tribes exist that only use memorisation of oral traditions as their history today. Australian aborigines and New Guinea tribes only recently have borrowed script from English to record their oral history as there are fewer speakers of some native languages and the historical tales will be lost once the speakers are gone.

I really like this explanation on how it wasn't a game of telephone. I've heard this argument before, and I've heard explanations similar to this but never quite articulated this way. It was always more, "these people had such a strong faith that they would take great care to ensure the message was relayed accurately and with integrity" .. though that's probably true, i feel like that's not a great way to say it, neither do i think it's convincing enough for an unbeliever. I like it explained in the video this way, and i like how you compared it to a traveling comedian and tour bands/ cover bands. That's something people can understand and find a better perspective with.
