The Booth is unscripted and unplanned. We wanted to give our musicians the chance to enjoy themselves while exploring the keyboards and pianos here in store.
In episode #2 David is using vocal backing tracks along with the Yamaha PSR SX900 onboard backings. It's easy to get dry vocal tracks which can be imported as .wav files via USB onto the keyboard. You can then sync it up with the built in backing styles and even add your own melodies and touches using the huge selection of voices. He plays Symphony by Clean Bandit (Zara Larsson), Shape Of You - Ed Sheeran, This Is Me from The Greatest Showman, (Keala Settle) and OneRepublic - Counting Stars. There really is massive scope for being creative. The SX700 and SX900 have clearly been designed for creative minded people who want maximum flexibility.

Hi David, simply press RESET/TAP TEMPO at the 1st Beat at any Bar of your Audio File and you have perfekt sync if your Tempo ist correct. If not, tap the same Button at the 4 Beats of one Bar while your Audio is playing, to find out he right Tempo. Sorry for the bad English ;) Best regards from Germany!

This is fantastic Dave and you sure got there with the timing. That Edd S is a good song. Where did you get the vocal track from and others? I’d be looking for Kraftwerk and other accapella vocals including the Edd S.

Is it possible to use the chord looper for recording external instruments through the mic on a Yamaha Genos? That would be so great if it did!

Hi, Kerri. If you connected a MIDI enabled instrument, then yes, you could control the chord looper. If you programmed the Chords using the keyboard first, you could then plug in an external instrument (guitar, mic, bass, etc) and play along. That would be really fun too!

I do not understand what you are doing here. You have a vocal track; where did it come from? What were you listening to to sing it? What, if anything, is the PSRSX900 doing to pitch correct? I don't understand.

Hi Preston. Yamaha PSR SX600 uses a very different operating system to the SX700/900 keyboards. The SX600 is also not controlled by a touchscreen.
