Tony, Thank you so very much for doing this video. I've been waiting to hear such a detailed review of the SX900 in English since Peter Baartmans unveiled it in Vietnam. He sounded very strange and strained in that video. You've really excited me, and unfortunately since I don't live in England, or across the Channel in Europe, buying from you is an impossibility. Unfortunately living more than 5000 miles away does have some real limitations. However, for all of our UK friends, I'm extremely impressed not only with the power and quality of the keyboard, but also am sure that taking the time to go see Tony and have him walk you through this marvelous keyboard's rich, luxurious features will result in you being customer for life, and God willing, becoming the proud possessor of one of these outstanding Yamaha PSR SX900, or Genos keyboards. Again, Tony-Thank you so very, very much for taking time, and putting yourself into making this very fine video for us.

Thanks Tony for a great demo I was lucky enough to be able to pop in and try out this Workstation at Bonners MK. the sounds were way above my expectations on going by the previous PSR models even the keys felt great. The guys at MK made my visit welcome and friendly I tried the SX900 with external speakers the sounds were mind blowing and then with the onboard speakers again fantastic compared to previous models. So I was sold on getting one which I hope to collect from MK on the 15th June 20 also I will buy the subwoofer which will add the extra bass touch to the sounds. thanks again tony and all from Bonners

@@MrWolves4ever I totally agree with you Andy . . . good high quality speakers are able to elevate music to a higher quality sound and increase the listener's enjoyment without increasing the volume. I have often wondered how keyboard music would sound through Bose "surround sound speakers". Many years ago I had an incredible experience when I heard orchestra music on a Bose CD player with their "surround sound feature". It sounded as if I were seated in the center of a beautiful orchestra with the sensation that sounds were coming from every direction. In all honesty, I haven't kept up with speaker technology improvement. Maybe modern speakers have this same ability to totally delight a listener with rich, warm, full surrounding sounds without being unpleasantly loud. Best wishes, Jerry.

@@jerryspencer7916Hi Jerry these BX5S and the yamaha sub makes a lot of difference to the whole experience But saying that the on board speakers a far greater than there previous psr models . Hi Tony, Great demo. Interesting that everyone is saying this is teh first time Yamaha have produced a keyboard where you can layer the three right hand sounds? I have a really old PSR 8000 (waiting for stock so I can buy a new SX900) which has always been able to layer three right hand sounds.
@ablesam3 жыл бұрын
PSR 8000 I believe preceded the 9000. After that was the Tyros series. The high end Yamaha arranger's could always layer three sounds but the mid range products only 2. SX-900 and 700 is the first Yamaha mid-range arrangers to have the ability to layer 3 voices.

The most advanced features Yamaha offers on this keyboard was already developed and offered by Korg long, but long time ago, example: Touch Screen, Layered Sound, Ensemble function, Custom Playlist, Advanced file recording/ creation, just to name a few. I wonder why Yamaha took a long time to have a touchscreen on its arranger keyboards. Even Korg PA 300 has touchscreen. It was about time Yamaha to keep up with korg in certain aspects. Needless to say it can't wait to buy one!
@rupertlenon35175 жыл бұрын
Will your statement is not 100 % accurate. I agree partially . I admit some yamaha sounds are realistic and ready to play. On the other hand Korg offers way more advanced features and you can modify the sounds to make it sound even more realistic than Yamaha and same thing with styles. But it takes more effort to do that and most people don’t even know about those features or simply don’t have time to do it. Yamaha is ready out of the box and you have limited choices. Yamaha is like a Macburger 🍔 that comes ready in a box but the meat is subpar and only has one type of seasoning and Korg is like a prime meat 🥩 that is raw but you can add any seasoning of your preference and once you marinate and cook it you’ll have a much but much better meal , it just takes some time and effort
@rupertlenon35172 жыл бұрын
@@permanentwave the best Korg Model right now is Korg PA 4x , you can get it in 61 keys for $ $3,500- $4000 or 76 keys for $4,500 - $5000. The second best Korg which I highly recommend is Korg PA 1000 for $2,400-$2600. Korg’s production line has been affected drastically because of the pandemic. Korg’s keyboards use components or materials produced in certain factories that have been shut down or work at minimum capacity. Even Korg plants themselves have been working at half capacity. Therefore it’s hard to find Korg PA 1000 keyboards at stores . There’s a 6 month (or more ) wait list. A friend of mine ordered his keyboard in August and still it’s on back up order. Also the price of korg’s keyboards have increased that’s why I put price ranges. Before the pandemic Korg 1000 retail price was $2,200 then during the pandemic it increased to $2,400 and now it costs more depending on the retailer but still they are not available in stock . Your best bet is to buy a used one from private sellers.

Can you please demonstrate how you select those Styles and Voices for each demo that you present here? How do you get those Styles and Voices, where or how do you find them in the keyboard? I went to a keyboard store to see this particular keyboard and I had a hard time finding the power button on the Keyboard and could not select a Style and Voice that I wanted to play in the keyboard. I guess the most important thing in a demonstration like this is to show in great detail how to get to those Styles and Voices so people who have no idea how the keyboard works can be able to play some simple music.
