Wow! This is my favourite SD song! Oh wait, ... every time I see SD or a tribute band perform any of their songs, I feel the same way. I guess this means, ... they're all great? That must be why I think SD is the best band, ever.

Wow. Perfect balance of faithful and interpretive. Lucky to have that lead vox too. If you’re gonna cover Dan you gotta show up and these guys did.

Hard to believe that Becker & Fagen considered their 2nd album "a rush job" with songs this perfect on it. The guitar interplay here between Frank and Sean sounds even better than I remember from Skunk and Denny at Steely Dan's U. of Toledo concert on April 21, 1974.

perfect vocal approach --not too on-the-nose with mimickry, and wonderfully pure --reminds me of Jayhawks

What a beautiful interpretation of this song and band. The complexity and rigorous demands that the music of Steely Dan requires eliminates me from calling you a cover band. Such a title appears as sacrilegious and demeaning to your skill proficiency and outright mastery of skill. This is quentissential music and assures it lives on into perpetuity. Thank you!

Remarkably accomplished at first blush, only to be more interesting upon repeating listen, when it still had the feel a faithful mirror of the original, but now I could hear the many changes in tone and intensity, which made it more interesting particularly when you apply intensity I felt the original always deserved. I keep coming back to which say it all. Congratulations to the whole band!

Soooo awesome! Very faithful and super skilled recreation of some of the best music in the worls. This is why I'm a faithful subscriber. Would love to see you guys in concert, except I'm halfway across the country and housebound. Would also love to see "Everything You Did" here ... and maybe some of the Gaucho album (title track, Third World Man, Time Out Of Mind)? But heck, put whatever SD you want to out there and I'll faithfully watch (Even if it's Show Biz Kids, ugh.)
@TheUtuber143 Жыл бұрын
Agree that Third World Man has a lot of guitar solo improvising potential, especially at the end of the song.

I love this video and I hate being a stickler and a snob like this, but I wish the bassist played the written part for the big solo. The original bass line hits on the back beat so hard, I’m sure the drummer would’ve loved it

Yeah, excellent is Right! The “fff” coming back in after the solo was the true merit of a good band. You crank it where it NEEDS to be cranked. Very dyanmic indeed. Thanks

I don’t know about better but they can walk out tall. Few could cover without making me wince. Sure, a few deflections - it’s an interpretation not a carbon copy - but they totally nailed it.
