I'm 33, I was like 11 or 12 when I played this game. While I don't remember the story being so short or so bad in my memories of the game, it was hilarious to see you point out there was only 30 or so minutes of gameplay in a playthrough, and all the janky movement and attack stuff. I loved the ability to switch characters and do new playthroughs, it was pretty cutting edge for the time it seemed. Also at the time, those graphics were insanely good. I think the thing I loved most was the versus mode with friends. Dominique had like insane damage but almost no HP. I had a buddy who'd only play shirtless Duragon and do OP moves. By far the best memory though was the four of us all playing as Wong and doing what we called "The Napalm Palm", where he walks like 6 long paces straight forward and then punches his palm outwards and yells. If it connected it would do insane damage and if memory serves, create a fireball on impact and send their body absolutely flying. We essentially had old-man jousting battle royales. Thanks for digging up these dusty ass memories!

The comedic timing here was brilliant! Great video 🤣🤣 I had this game and despite the flaws actaully liked it. At the time the graphics were unbelievable. Also, the back of the case makes it clear its an interactive movie. Also, does anyone remember the tech demo for this? It's involved kicking guys off balconies into tables, it looked far better then what they ended up serving.

The light/hard press button also is present on Star Ocean III, it was like a flute that depending on how much you keep Square Button pressed the flute emits a different tune

Watching the Let's Play on the other channel, I knew that The Bouncer was too good a gem to pass on making a review of it. Sure enough, here it is!

I gotta be honest, the most mind blowing part of this entire video is the revalation that "If you press the button harder the attack does more damage" is true
@revadarius25942 жыл бұрын
All this time y'all thought it was a meme. People joking, "You know pressing it harder makes you go faster, or jump higher". But it was true all along.

Also there's a versus mode where you can play up to four players (or bots) fighting each other in the stages. There are ELEVEN stages to unlock, and you can unlock and play as any character that can fight, including all four forms of Dauragon, Dominique, alternate forms of Sion and Kou, and even Master Wong! They didn't have to do it, but it's a nice extra.

Are we sure that they didn't let Nomura into the writer's room on this one? The plot really feels like one of his gems.

A cold open of Jared laughing hysterically is just what we needed in our lives.

I remember this game. I used to have it when I was younger. It was honestly so fun to play and it was mostly due to me not taking it seriously. Always had a good laugh playing through it. Wish I still had it tho.

Love the old school projared reviews where he begrudgingly completes all endings of these games! Keep up the good work!

First PS2 game I played it came out well before FFX. Volt's jacket tho was always so cool a cactaur with a circle crossing it out and says No Escape was a nice nod.

I bought this game YEARS ago just as a novelty after I learned how this game prototyped some concepts of KH, especially Sora. I’ve never once even loaded the disc into my PS2, and I mostly just use it to keep my memory card in the box whenever I’m transporting it. One day I’ll actually get around to this game to see the craziness for myself… 5:20 I actually learned about this feature when I realized how hard I pressed the triangle button in Okami affected how thick the brush strokes were. I always thought that was pretty cool.

People gotta understand this was one of the best looking games when it came out. It sold copies on the visuals alone. Gameplay wasn't great but this was just a showcase for the PS2 processing power.

People that poopoo on this game’s graphics don’t remember what other first year PS2 games looked like.
