Watermelons can only cross with other watermelons and citrus melons. If it crosses with a citron melon, your result will be bitter-sweet.

@@fullupfinish12 Clemson University horticulture expert here. Although gourds, cucumbers, canteloupes, and watermelons are all in the cucurbitaceae family, they are not closely related enough to cross with each other and produce fertile offspring. So no need to worry about any vegetable mongrels.
