This is an essential technique to master when racing in 150cc. Power-slide turbo boost on every turn.

I didn't know this for almost 20 years, I was braking before the turn and stepped on the gas coming out the corner, until I once drove a rental in humid conditions and discovered how much fun it is to steer with your feet. I still thought it wasn't the right way to go round the track because you don't do that in a competition race car because it ruins your tyres. If only I knew this feat when I was 15 😅

Nice gotta try it . after braking I rapidly tap the gas in the middle of the turn to help me find the tires peak grip speed . lets see if this new technique is faster .

Thats what Senna was famous for, he would rapidly stab the throttle through the corner as like his own manual traction control, you can hear it in his throttle exhaust sound

Dallas Karting Complex? 99.9% of slick track drivers have no idea what they are doing. Good tips! I drive at the CotA kart track alot. It's concrete with tons more grip, so this tactic is not quite as severe.

You should mention this works if you are in a very low grip situation, decent karts with a proper asphalt track you’ll just loose time doing that.

This only works in lower grip tracks and isn’t really faster. The most rental pro drivers use trailbraking. You brake very light in the turn itself so you create more pressure on the front tyres to create less understeer.
@n1co20174 ай бұрын
huh i just brake a little while going straight before the corner and smash in the gas pedal all the way through the corner the last track i did this on most the the final corner i would get about a thumb away from the outside tire wall

@exsl69609 ай бұрын
Cars have brakes on all 4 wheels, most Karts only have brakes at the rear, so this braking method only works with karts
@genericexcuse47379 ай бұрын
I would assume yes, but it would be a lot more situational and a lot more dangerous. For cars, this would be more on the lines of trailbraking, but it also depends on your car’s drivetrain layout, suspension, etc in order to get the desired amount of rotation for corners.
@uusikaytaja109 ай бұрын
Cars have usually way more traction, making cornering normally faster. When you get down to lower friction like rally this starts being more the case again.
@pancake58309 ай бұрын
yes, its called slip angle :) its the reason why trailbraking is so fast.

No: to unsettle the rear and lighten it, so that the kart oversteers on corner entry and you have to give less steering input while straightening the kart a little before the apex and going on the throttle early.
