My (now) husband and I were in engaged in 1984/85 when I realized I wasn’t ready to get married. I broke his heart. We went our separate ways, married other people, had kids…and 23 years later, through a random e-mail, we found each other again. Found out our first marriages were dissolved and the rest is history. We needed that 23 year break - we grew and I would t change a thing! We’ve now been married 13 years and now I understand when people say “I’m married to my best friend.” Truly, I am.
