Yes, a beautiful Chosson, but, RBS"O - what a terrible, sad family she married into. The mother in law shredded her to pieces - followed by other family members. The shame is not on the Kallah that lost the ring - the shame is on the family who did not support her. I hope that the story was embellished, and that the comments from the boys mother were just a story - that's what I hope - because Hashem Yirachem for a family that can so quickly throw a new family member under the bus like that.

It can be hard to get used to wearing or doing something new. I rarely wore a ring, then I got engaged. Then you have to remember it's part of your new identity. One night, a week after being newly married, I drove to see a friend who was an elderly widow. When I got to her door I panicked, realizing that I forgot to cover my hair! She was rather amused, I was horrified. It can take a while to get used to new ways.
