I love Melancholy of Haruhi. It's so cool you are talking about the Endless 8 I love it. Also 1) They weren't blatantly torturing the audience because it wasn't entirely their fault. One of the directors wanted it to be 2 episodes but the studio needed them to fill the episode order so the studio forced them to make it last 8 episodes. 2) I think the twist makes it worth it. I was dying of laughter when the cycle was finally broken. It was very cleverly foreshadowed. 3) I started watching the show 5 years ago and binged the endless 8 in one go so it's easier for me to take than someone who had to wait week to week.

Huh! Good to know it was originally supposed to be 3 episodes. I'd still call that torture though XD 3 weeks of the same episode is also quite frustrating! Still, even if 3 were intended, they did go through with 8, so it was still planned to some degree! And yes, overall, I do think the twist (and eventual climax in the movie) was worth it!

@@TheArtisticAloubell My source for this info is the KZbin channel Red Bard. She did a video about the Endless 8. I rewatched the episode to make sure I got my facts right. One of the directors was against the idea of the endless 8 lasting 8 episodes and wanted it to be 2 episodes not 3. I am probably going to edit the original post.

It's just pure joy of animation. People are pitiful for watching endless amounts of Hero's journey with commonly questionable, surface level translation of new productions, like turning Zorro from Spanish anti-imperialism to pro-USA "ethical" use of Batman's magic ability to detect deserving terrorists, his personal Lavender AI. Over, and OVER again, animated and audio mixed, because they're not literate enough to read the same stories as books, but the TEXT is still only thing not BGM to them. Boring upon repetition and boring at first glance without the shiny colors. Endless 8 is sharing the dedication of actually enjoying ANIMATION, whether it's Dragon Ball by Toei, or TMNT 1987 by Toei that is arbitrated as "not an anime" because it doesn't fulfill a racial purity standard that Americans MADE UP. In Japan you of course can't even SAY "anime" becuase the word MEANS "animation", Spongebob equally to Crayon Shin-chan. They don't replace Ren and Stimpy's atuhorial STYLE into corporate property like Spongebob that way, like turning 7 samurai into Magnificent Seven and go "but this one is WESTERN so being a ripoff is fine". They don't REPLACE global directors like Kurosawa and Leone with pet domestic "geniuses" like Lucas and Tarantino whose homages are treated as originating the copypasted vision. And are conveinent to market as the sole source of that REVENUE towards Hollywood. They just hunker down and CREATE the animation. An industry that USA has no resources to maintain, no gorms to pay a living wage for, so they outsource it to Asia like Chinese earbuds import the free IP of Swedish-socialist bluetooth.

SOS. I have seen the dance for years and never knew where it was from. Until now! Never learned the dance though... I can't dance. I ain't got rhythm, lol. I may check it out at some point. It depends on if I can find the novels in audio form. I probably can. We'll see.

All she wanted was more time with her friends over the summer. It's pretty wholesome if you think about it. Also I love how it was also marketed as the "Kyon" vs "Haruhi" order of episodes. SOS!

Endless Eight is the most interesting / ambitious thing I've ever watched dude, and actually watching it when it was releasing made me feel exactly like Kyou was feeling there "PLEASE Kyon, you need to remembeeer". I understand it backfired, but geniuses are more common than not miscomprehended ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As someone mostly unfamiliar with the anime world who is only learning about this arc thanks to this video, I gotta say, that was ONE bold move on the part of the writers of that anime. 😅 I honestly have no idea if I would've had the patience to endure 8 whole weeks of basically the same episode remade with minor differences. Scratch that, I almost definitely wouldn't have xD I mean, I get the feeling there must've been clues and maybe the character who was aware tried to break the loop or change things somehow, but again, 8 EPISODES! That just... that sounds like too much. 😅 Surely it could've worked just as well with 3 or 4, but I bet it REALLY made the audience who watched it as it premiered have EXTRA empathy for the character you mentioned. Assuming they didn't rage quite the show during it. People who stuck through that are gonna survive the apocalypse. 😂 So in summary: Brilliant in hindsight. Please no one ever do it again. 😬 S.O.S.

hi i also prefer to watch anime dubbed in english but if i want to read i go to read either manga or light novel i am quite disappointed when i like an anime that is not dubbed in english i have seen both anime and i liked them a lot and my favorite anime is made in abyss it's a 10 story if you like mysterious and emotional anime. keep up the good work and can't wait for the next video

But "That's classified" 😉😂 #WatchedTheWholeThing btw (and no I'm not trying to get you watch it, but I was curious to see) have you heard of the 2 other chibi/ super deformed series "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya-Chan" and there is a show about tsuruya as well. They're basically just shorts with about the same amount of seriousness as lucky star 😂 Also was surprised to not hear anything about the spin-off about yuki 🤔 probably not enough time in the video, or something. Oh one more thing! All those shows are in dub too btw! 👍

I have seen this Anime series, but didn’t watch it when it was originally broadcast so I didn’t suffer the pain that most fans did. I have also seen the Movie as well and it’s quite a premise based on a “What if” scenario. It’s a well animated show and would only recommend to someone who is looking for more series to watch (not so much for beginners right of the bat). Interesting to know that Wennde Lee did an excellent job voicing Haruhi, but didn’t know she also voiced in Lucky Star as well. I personally enjoyed her performance as Faye Valentine in Cowboy Bebop and Yoruichi in Bleach. Looking forward to seeing you cover other Anime series in the future. I dont like anime except doremon pokemon dragon ball. Maybe because art style of modern anime.I watched this video because it's your video. If i watched the series in mobile or pc i wouldn’t go through this pain. I have enough pain in my life. One thing i learned from miraculous is not to go through repetitive episodes its boring. It was hard for me to complete the season 3. Percentage is very low for me to watch this show

When I went to watch it I was thinking oh good another miraculous..*eye roll* but all the characters were good and I could relate to the main character and I even wonder what I'd do if a girl dragged me along an adventure like that. As a guy I actually feel bad for how they manipulated the computer club to give them a free computer.... The characters are good, the story is good. I'm invested for the most part... Well played... Now I just need to know what the movie is called... I did notice the characters seem semi aware of the endless 8 happening. I hope you make another KZbin video on this :)
