Ben "the Stig" Collins tells the story that the car he drove in this race had a sticking throttle. He said that's why he locked up the brakes in that corner and had to ride the breaks against a full throttle through corners.

According to Ben Collins, the throttle was stuck open so he was already handicapped. The wheel locking up was related to that. 1:49

Just watched a Drive-Tribe interview with Ben Collins... Apparently, the throttle on the Aston jammed at 100% 😛 That lock up on lap 2 was him desperately trying to keep the car under control. The German driver was also doing his very best to keep the Aston behind so that very late lunge was his last chance to win.
