Hanging with the homeboys was a classic with actors who later on blew up like John leguizamo and Nestor serrano. I saw both of these movies on vhs in the early 90s around 1992/93. Both the bronx war and hanging with the homeboy’s.

"Tito Sunshine don't lie" (Lies to Ceasar that she doesn't have Rachel in his house) "Tito Sunshine not scared" (Gets scared by the telephone ringing) "Tito Sunshine don't die" (Gets spared by Caesar before his brother Ricky D's death, killed by Crazy) "Tito Sunshine don't cry" (Tito cries like a baby after explaing to Maria about Tony's death and cries while hugging Maria at the end) Tito is the definition of a hypocrite. He tricks his gang to protect Rachel. Tito was wrong. Blaming other people for starting the war but didn't want to take responsibility for his actions. He was an annoying character in the film. Ngl. However, Joseph B Vasquez put up a good performance, bringing that character to life. (RIP dawg)

-Damn, this is how it was in the mid to late 1980s when crack 1st popped up! Car jackings, dudes getting shot for their 8 Ball leather jackets, Air Jordan sneakers or Adidas, 3/4 length black leather jackets with the black fake fur lapels, 16, 17yr old kids driving around with Uzi's, tech 9's, etc. I haven't seen this movie since 1989 or 90. But it brings back memories of House music with the heavy drumbeats, even with the slowjams, Miami Vice suits, going clubing with the girls, everybody hyped up over seeing a then, brand new movie named Scarface, damn I miss the 80s! & Now, I'm an old bastard grandpa lol!

It was released in 1989. People confused it with 1991, but Hangin with the Homeboys was made that year. New Line Cinema saw this film and gave Joseph movie deals.

No. I'm not. Wished I was. Lived next door and saw a lot a lot of smokers. And had to move out of an apartment because the dude next door smoked so very bad. Their pets always died of cancer and sinus/lung issues at an alarming rate. And the cigarette smoke just doesn't magically disappear if you smoke inside your apartment. It clings to whatever and whoever. Secondhand smoke is carcinogenic and a leading cause of respiratory illnesses. Surgeon General and the American Heart Association and any doctor worth his/her medical license will tell you that. But it's a free country. People can do whatever they want. I'm not a hater. Just an observer. You have a wonderful day.

Definitely a Dope Classic from da early , early nineties. Young bucks could definitely enjoy this flick if they're good at taking it to context of the timeframe, if they can't, of course it will be wack to them. I'm an old timer, pushing 50 in a few weeks, and I really enjoy gems from the 40's through the 70's because I, like many can easily take into context. Anyway, Bronx War is epically fresh to me.
