This is the 1st album that WASN'T produced by Quincy Jones!!! A lot of musicians from TOTO were on this LP! More commercial LESS FUNK it still had some SERIOUS GROOVES! The song Louis wrote called ' Dancin Free' Thunder Thumbs gave up the funk on his signature Bass solo! IT STILL A GOOD ALBUM! I RECOMMEND IT 💯💣💥

Yes your right, all of their previous albums was produced by Quincy Jones. The album was titled Winners and was released in 1981. It should have been a hit. The Real Thing had some nice string and horn arrangements on it and could have easily been another top 10 on the hot 100 like Stomp was.

In case you're wondering what kind of Bass Louis is playing? It's Canadian made and it's a LADO! It's got a KICK ASS SOUND!!! It's RARE U see George playing a Stratocaster! In LIVE performances he's either playing his Black Gibson Custom given by Bill Withers it's on the cover of The Brothers Johnson's debut album! Or George will use his Fender Telecaster it's on the cover of their 2nd album ' Right On Time ' 💯💥

Most likely. Several members of Toto made contributions to this album (Paich, Lukather, and Jeff Porcaro). It was a good album, but the Brothers weren’t quite the same without the guidance of Quincy Jones. They were his “warm-up” for Michael Jackson.
