I’m 50 in 2023 and have known this song for as long as I can remember and it ALWAYS makes me cry. Superb and it’s great to see these really old songs being done live.

Dear God how did we get so corrupted in everything we do. We are so far from simplicity and innocence. Songs like this make me yearn for days far gone by.

This song is soo sad and so harmonised it brings tears to my eyes.. almost as if i had lived this era somewhere someday. in a long past forgoten. The truth is songs of this era speaks to me more than most music from today ... i guess i will never know why.Nonetheless i think life ment more back then. wish i had lived these days.

our culture has gone into the toilet, but now i sound like an old fuddy duddy, now i am the old grand paw. it is funny how time has a way of playing tricks on the elderly. i remember my parents raising 7 kinds of hell about those long haired beatles and they were not even americans. so i guess aging is a cycle, we are destine to be and act old. it is in the DNA, you cant fight it. so, where is my hot cocoa dammit ?

On this day in 1959 {August 24rh} "The Three Bells" by Jim Ed Brown & the Browns peaked at #1 {for 4 weeks} on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart... One week later on August 31st it would also reached #1 {for 9 weeks} on Billboard's Country & Western Singles chart... And on Billboard's R&B Singles chart it would make the Top 10, right at #10... Mr. Brown will celebrate his 80th birthday come April 1st, 2014...

But sadly, just over a year later, the final verse played out for him as well. I had a stepbrother named Jimmy Brown that passed away early Monday morning (3/15/2021) in his sleep, at age 75. So sadly, that single chapel bell will toll for him.
