The land yacht is what is.... I kept them for the metal and didn't hesitate to use good panels, wheelwell's, parts of b pillars, even good floor pans provided it was close to the one being fixed.... I took a floor pan out of a near new car and it was longer and wider and I took it in sections and butt welded so that when done it still looked original. Of course me being a truck guy, if the truck was old but real nice and meant to be a two wheel drive sat the body on it. I chop and channeled the frame of seventy eight "L" car and put the 47 ford pickup cab on the front half, the back half was a LTD back half hooked the that chev sub frame and set box on it so that it looked like a lowrider. I had people ask, "Where can I find a frame like this" and they were serious. After done it was a daily driver and just when you have a rig that you like real well, someone insults you with enough money to say what are we waiting for. I rebuild ever piece and part on a forty ford business coupe just cause my step dad said I couldn't fix it if I tried and he was so insulting so said "Bet Me" and regretted it soon as said. Took two years plus as a person can only spend so much time before stuff starts breaking and cuss words are flying. I did take his money and he had forgotten about the bet. If I had know then I wouldn't of finished it so one ford got lucky and it sold for damn big money as in five figures. I think your just getting started on a real good future as you do look like a hard worker.... especially on time lapse and your doing the editing. LOL, I just admire hard workers.

I got the air cleaner I needed to use on my Dart so it has the original small 340 style aircleaner it would have if it was a original 340 car out of a $300 69 Sport Fury I bought with 440 in it. I drove that tank a while, realized it had bad rust in the top, and sold it for a minor profit at the swap meet but kept air cleaner. I met the guy I sold it to a year later and he said he was going to pull the 440 but he liked the car, did some more work on it and drove it a while and sold it again.

My Dad was driving home from work in his 225, about to turn on to our street when a woman in a Chevy Citation coming the opposite way made a left turn in front of him. He was unable to stop and hit the Citation right at the passenger side 'A' pillar. The roof and firewall of the Citation buckled, the car was totaled. The 225 needed that massive front bumper adjusted so the hood would open. Other than that, no visible damage.

Do not forget to install a High pressure/volume Oil pump set and check the timing cover for excessive wear.. Its a super smart investment and will help your engine make good oil pressure and ensure its living longer with a performance rebuild.. It was amazing what it did for my 69 GS 350 after I freshened up the engine and installed a hotter cam.

Phoenix Graphics in Arizona can help you get all new stickers for the air cleaner and engine. We used to make them at a print shop I ran here in Chicago [well, mostly Chevy stuff!] and some of the folks went there from here when the shop closed down. TAKE PIX!! LOTS OF 'EM!!! They can be reproduced from good, CLEAR pictures. Might cost a couple bux, but worth it.

Hey buddy. Big day! 455 is movin on up. I would suggest if there is any way to get the floor pan done before you lift the body, it would support the car so much better than if you did it later, the whole body could fold up and move out of square when lifted without that stiffening. Just a suggestion my man. Big Al.

Buick Gran Sport, GSX / GSX Stage 1, impressive performance is partly due to the light weight of the 455 which is roughly 150 lb (68 kg) less than the 426 Hemi or Chevrolet 454. At 510 lb-ft the Buick 455 produced the highest torque output of any American production performance car. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_Gran_Sport#Gran_Sport_455

Sun machine and probably ran the numbers saw what it was and pulled it out before he got there he told me next to the 426 hemi it was the strongest motor he ever had keep up the good. Work

i mentioned it on another video but easiest way. 350 has 6 valve cover bolts big blocks only have 5. now to till the difference in a 400 430 or a 455 you cant really without running the numbers or pulling off the heads. the big block is slightly taller deck and wider but unless they are setting beside each other you wont be able to tell. and the best mod you could do for drivability is a od trans. 2004r is best swap. anything you got a question on buick wise ill gladly answer a pm.

Big and small block terms were for Chevy, Ford and Mopar V8s, since they had two different block designs. AMC, Buick, Olds and Pontiac V8 blocks were same basic design, and use same mounts. I know younger car guys like to use "big block" for any brand motor over 400 cubic inches, but back when these engines were new, wasn't the case. There were SBC's in 400 ci, example

Back around 1995, I pulled a 455 out of a wrecked 70 deuce & a qtr,and put both engine and tranny into a 69 Skylark. The manual said the engine was the 370hp big block.Well, I wanted to see what it would do, so I took it out Boulder hwy heading from Vegas towards Henderson. It was a 3 lane road and trraffic was light, so I floored it. The speedo went past 120 all the war around to zero and climbed to 40 when the front end ledt the road and became partly airborne! I slowly backed off the gas and she settled back down on the roadway. I had to sell it; I was afraid of that car!
