This video was exactly what I needed, as chapter 5 has always been the one I’m most curious about lore wise. I’ve often wondered how the bull king was so powerful during wukong’s era but then became so weak by the time of chapter 5. This video does a great job of explaining it. Fantastic work!

The Celestial Court took advantage of Bull King's attachments a.k.a his family as form of chain to keep him down. While with Wukong's punishment was more direct, my take is that Celestial Court decided that they couldn't use the same movie twice on powerful Yougai or else everyone could grown suspicious on their actions, which they went from a more subtle manner. This sounds pretty similar parallel with the Spider Clan, keeping the seven sisters in one place and use subtle manipulations to control them.

Yeah that's a good point about not using the same form of control twice. Good parallel to the Spider Clan too. They are confined to the Webbed Hallow correct? Is there explanation on how this is? Through the purple talismans?

@unlistednaytiba From what I gathered in other lore vids, the Easter Heaven and the Taoist needed to expand their influence, so they used the Spider Clan's skills in embrodery and weaving to craft beautiful clothing, this bussiness was lead by the Jade Emperor's wife and have revenge against for Boddishata Pilanpo for meddling.
