What I realize is that Naruto was cursed in his use of the 9 tails. Jirayia mentions that each time Naruto is injured and the 9 tails heals him, Naruto’s life span is shortened. He also mentions whenever Naruto goes 4+ tails and above, the mode is constantly burning him & causing him to bleed. People like to look at it like a get out free card, but it came with a tremendous health cost. And Jirayia mentions this in a flashback, plot is at the bridge right before Naruto confronts Orochimaru about Sasuke

The whole fetishization of hardwork vs talent makes no sense either because it's fundamentally wrong as it implies people with talent don't work hard. I mean Rock Lee calls out Sasuke of all people as someone who coasts on talent when Sasuke might have trained the most after Lee.

@@unc54 Sasuke trained a lot, but way less than Lee. And Sasuke trained the most before and after the Uchiha Clan Masaccre, for the age of 10 to 12, he didn't trained as before, maybe even Naruto trained more at that age. Is after his fight with Lee that he started training hard again, as hard as Naruto with Jiraiya. It's more dumb that idea of Naruto if we see Naruto himself. Kurama revealed that Naruto was able to made the Tajū Kage Bunshin no jutsu, 'cause Naruto's emotions, let Kurama the chance, to give him chakra to weaken the seal. Naruto never had massive amounts of chakra on their "own", but to japonese people, "you're one with your weapons" (and they are right), Naruto is one with his biju weapon, and that explains why people in Naruto refers to Kyubi's chakra as "Naruto's" (except for Yamato, who didn't know about that Kurama always give him chakra amps, just like almost everyone who readed the manga and/or viewed the anime). Despite of being son of Minato NAMIKAZE and Kushina Uzumaki, he don't have chakra chains, larges quantitis of chakra by himself, physical resistence "by her own" (like Kushina who actually survived a while after the lost of Kurama, while Naruto get inconcius inmediatly when he lost only the half of Kurama!), high inteligence or combat genius (he only can learn or create justus thanks to Kurama, remeber his use of Kurama chakra for the creation and use of the rasenshuriken, and he only managed to learn the sage mode thanks to the large chakra reserves Kurama gives to him, and only was able to win Kurama in his inner world, that give him a huge advantage as we see with one inner world of Orochimaru, and with B/Hachibi help). *That's fully explain why Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki refers to Naruto as an "underdog" despite his parents, thing that Naruto inmediatly recognized in front of the Sage of Six Paths.* _Naruto is about helping each other, that's because Kishimoto made Naruto as a "genetic failure", a looser by his very own. Sasuke is a winner that loose because hi went fully alone_ *(and didn't have the resolve to actually kill Naruto, except with the Indora no Ya attack and the final clash's attack, yet he was able to suck ALL Kurama and Naruto's chakra, when he suck some of Kurama's chakra before the last clash, killing Naruto, but he wanted to have a "proper clash").*

Not just what Power Lover said, but the concept of helping each other gives power also applies to the other members of the cast. While I like Rock Lee a lot his nindo and viewpoint before Gaara injured him was very selfish, wanting to prove himself rather then fighting for those around him. You can see that he changes when he fights kimimaro, helping Naruto chase Sasuke and gets the power up in the form of the drunken fist. He is saved by Gaara, another changed by Naruto's altruistic viewpoint, who goes on to defeat kimimaro.

I've said it before, but it's so refreshing to see Naruto content like this on KZbin. You're one of the very few people who actually looks at the content of the story critically (and not just whatever feats are displayed in the fights), and actually understands what it was about. Too much of the discourse about Naruto online seems to be made by the "speed reader/watcher" crowd with the same predictable, surface-level takes such as "Rock Lee should've been the protagonist because he represents the show's themes better!" and "Neji was right all along". Don't get me wrong, not everyone in the world has to like this series, but it gets so tiresome when people continue to misinterpret and misrepresent the series and levy criticisms against it that could immediately be rebuked by anyone who's actually paid attention to the whole story.

7:32 Small correction: that's actually an in-universe misunderstanding. It's not the union of Uchiha and Senju genes that creates the Rinnegan, rather, mixing the chakras of Indra and Ashura, which is essentially recreateing the chakra of the Sage of Six Paths. That's why Obito, an Uchiha enchanched with Hashirama's cells, never awakened a Rinnegan of his own, and was forced to borrow Madara's. It only worked for Madara, because he and Hashirama were the reincarnates of the Hagoromo's sons. Doesn't effect your main point, just thought it's worth pointing out.

You’ve done it again! Another well thought out and insightful video showcasing those characters thought processes and their hypocrisies. One thing I’d like to add is how nonsensical those debates are which focus on how „Kishimoto is gay for the Uchiha“, because they get so much spotlight and their sharingans get stronger while the Hyuga‘s byakugan remains the same. That‘s the point! The Uchiha slay each other and have to experience so much trauma to get their powers which the Hyuga (on earth) are spared from. I also love how you talked about one of Naruto’s most important themes which is teamwork/working together. It doesn‘t matter how talented you are, how strong your kekkei genkai is or how many powers you collected. There will always be someone who will beat you, because he has comrades who will support him and he has the resolve to protect them rather than fight for himself.

Naruto for me is not a story about “power”, “skill” “talent” “hard work” or “destiny” no, naruto is a story about love. When people usually think about love, it’s often about “falling in love”. Naruto shows the different types of love at you will experience throughout your lifetime and the consequences and responsibilities of that love. Episode one was how a teacher can love a student like a son, that same teacher ended up walking that pupil out as his father for his wedding at the end of the series. the relationship between siblings, loving your brother more than the village that you would slaughter your family and lover for. Loving an orphan to the point that the blood mist murderer would shed a tear for him in the snow, wishing you could be where he was. The right and wrong way of Loving your village in hashirama, Tobirama and Madara, loving your newborn in Kushina, loving a friend in Sasuke, loving someone who doesn’t love you back in Sakura. Love is blind, sometimes unconditional, irrational, painful. Even Kaguya, the progenitor of Shinobi… the only reason shinobi even exist is because she fell in love with a human. Shinobi are weapons sharpened by love and also destroyed by it. Naruto is a story of love and loss and this is emphasised by a character that in my opinion is the real main character of the story. Kakashi. I will never forget Sasuke asking him “how would you feel if I killed everyone that ever meant anything to you, anyone you ever loved” and Kakashi responds by telling him they are all already dead with a smile on his face. Kakashi, who lost his parents, his comrades, his sensei, his student… in the end against Kaguya, he looked at Naruto Sasuke and Sakura, smiled and said “I really love you guys”. People tend to miss this very obvious detail, the twist in the Uchiha story was that despite what we were first told, uchiha do Not get stronger from hate, it’s actually that their love is too strong and the loss of love is what causes their eyes to awaking. Witnesses loss causes them so much pain that the eyes that saw it become stained red. What an amazing metaphor for how love can be blinding. There should be a video essay called the burden of love rather than power because people only seek out power in order to protect the things they love be it a child or an ideal. But the burden of power has a nicer ring to it lol.

I believe what this video was talking about is how power is burdensome because it puts a target on your back and makes your life hell. People didn't have their entire clans targeted for elimination because of love alone. But, your comment makes a lot of great points as well.
@ShinigamiShionZ
@ShinigamiShionZ 3 жыл бұрын
@@Jazzmaster1992 I agree with you. I wasn’t confused about what the video was trying to say, I was just giving my perspective on the core running theme of the story. I agree with your comment as well but only to a certain extend. Love might not be the “only” reason people had their clans annihilated but to quote Pain “Religion, ideology, resources, land, spite, love. No matter how pathetic the reason, it’s enough to start war” - “Love breads sacrifice, which in turn breads hatred”. Óbito: “When a man learned to love he must bear the risk of hated” or Madara “Love and hate are two sides of the same coin” - “When you fall in love you must love with all you got. You must learn to bear anger, hatred, keep your attitude aside and handle things with care, calmness and love” and THE most important quote for me from Madara “In this world, wherever there is light there are also shadows. As long as the concept of winners exist, there must also be losers. The selfish desire for peace gives rise to wars, and hatred is born to protect love” Power may be burdensome but be it land, ego, status, another person, it all comes down to “love”. Itachi is a brilliant example on why clans are wiped out. Love for ones village, love of your clan, love of your own power and influence. His “ the clan, the clan, the clan” speech shows the dangers of how love for ones family can turn into a dangerous obsession. Itachi who loved his village about all else but loved his brother more is the one that wiped out the clan. Clans might not be wiped out by “love alone” but in ever example, you can find love as one of the main contributing factors. The story being about power being burdensome and being about love are not mutually exclusive. A story can have multiple running themes at once but my point is that naruto is, first and foremost, mainly a story about love.

Naruto is best enjoyed when reading the manga, weekly when it came out. It'll be in a mush if you read it all at once ,You lose a lot of symbolism that way. Its not all about fighting, you have to give some thought to it. If you've seen monster , it's the same way. Monster is short but you won't get that feeling of fulfilment or may even feel bored if you try to binge it all at once, but when you enjoy it slowly it's an amazing piece of art .

This was GREAT dude you are my favorite Naruto KZbin now you get the series on a level I haven’t seen here. I feel like so many people just argue on raw power, hax abilities, or just critique the series when it is the richness of characters, messages, -philosophies, and THEMES that’s truly bring life to the series, your videos will help people see what’s really there, so they don’t miss out I am sharing these whenever I’m chatting/arguing with people on it

Great video as expected from what i've seen in previous analysis you have made of Naruto. Just wanted to leave a request which you may or may not think of doing in the future. A character dynamic analysis between Madara and Tobirama. Personally I believe these two are the perfect example of being two sides of the same coin. Both want the best for their clan/family, however they differ in how they think is the correct way to protect them. Thanks for the effort put into these analysis and here's hoping for another great video in the near future. :)

Man ive been sharing your content constantly. Im in the middle of making my own story nd your words on Analyzing my personal favorite storys such as one piece, naruto and hopefully berserk in the future, is so profound and truly inspiring. It makes me sad that you dont have as much views as u should possibly because people focus on negativity and surface level comparisons more than actual narrative, and im concerned that people may not care about such things anymore and prefer unfufilling rivalries and meaningless demon transformations. However i will continue to write and create, especially as a black creator not only for my sake but for an audience that truly enjoy riviting story telling and meaningful nuance action. Keep making your videos man i appreciate your words. (Quick question, is one piece your favorite piece of fiction?)

To me it's my least favorite Mangekyo because it breaks the concentric trinity motif of the Sharingan, each branch being a reshaped tomoe. Sasuke's atom looking one is a second just because of how cool Madara's, Itachi's, and Kakashi's were.

I never noticed how the arc with madara and obito mirrored the first land of waves arc with zabuza and haku... that's such a galaxy brain analysis. I honestly enjoyed watching this video. I'll admit that I don't really like the war arc that much because it's so dense but also so fast-paced that it's hard to keep up and fully digest, which might be due to the fact that Kishimoto was on a weekly deadline. On one hand, I feel like the war arc did reflect and stayed consistent with a lot of the themes Kishimoto had throughout the story (such as the ethics of treating people like tools, the cycle of hatred, the passing of the torch). On the other hand, I feel like there were so many moments that contradicted those same themes, and the inclusion of Kaguya as well as the revelation that Black Zetsu orchestrated everything seemed like a cop out because it turned the responsibility away from humans to aliens. However, your reading on how Kaguya fits into the themes of Naruto makes sense and feels somewhat satisfying. I still hate the writing decision, but at least the urge to rip my hair out has lessened. Good job 👍, your Naruto content is always great and amazing, and I look forward to them!
